I think my favorite trend of Harris being picked as Bidens running mate, and now being the VP elect, is that everyone has exposed the fact that Harris is literally just a cop. Like Kamala Harris was known as a law and order prosecutor when she was the DA in San Francisco and then later the AG in California as well. We even had a LONG thread on here about it, pretty sure that Theymos started it, talking about how Harris is just trying to fake the fact that she is progressive because of the fact that she has higher aspirations and is a Senator from CALIFORNIA.

I intended to make something like this weeks ago, before the election.  But it was perforce to come with a detailed comparison and contrast^* between the two scenarios; and that never got written.  Obviously, on the flipside, Trump didn’t win by a landslide; thus, this doesn’t quite work on the Trump side.  Nonetheless, as we wait with bated breath for the outcome of our bets, this is a pretty good Biden/Harris meme.

* In some part about how Reagan personally was a Christian fanatic—whereas Trump somehow managed to lock the votes of the Christian evangelical bloc, porn fans, and casino gamblers.  (Perhaps the pragmatic realpolitik in some quarters may relate to judicial appointments who are expected to slow down the process of litigious “liberals” making a sick joke of the American Constitution, although they probably will not undo the damage wrought under Soviet C.J. Earl Warren.  By the way, PN7, in the other thread where stare decisis was mentioned, you may or may not expect an essay sometime about how, e.g., you will never overturn Obergefell without first taking an axe to Loving.)  For many such reasons, I call Trump the great depolarizer of American politics—hell, he even managed to bag the antisemitic vote despite being a committed Zionist with Jewish family!  Also, Reagan was a rabid warmonger—which, rhetoric notwithstanding, Trump has not been, at least not by American standards.  Many other parts... not relevant here.

Parler has a competitor who has far more experience with “deplatforming”:  Gab.  Overall, Gab is a fascinating study for those who are interested in censorship resistance.  Hereby apropos, Gab would have gone bankrupt long ago, if not for Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the only way to send money to Gab online.  (They also accept cheques snailmailed to their postbox; but that is obviously a non-starter for an Internet startup.)  And ever since Coinbase deplatformed them, they have used Bitcoin for real, with their own keys on their own node managed by BTCPayServer.

So, here is the thing, for example, Gab right now is using, Gab.com Is using a BTCPayServer and basically recently they have been targeted by political opponents to try to shut them down even if they did nothing wrong.
