People want the price to rise in order to speculate, when the price rises, there is a correction that will happen.
which means that the price will fall sharply. and you can double your profits easy.

This is human tendency to have huge fear in mind when the price of the commodity they own decreases and a lot of joy due to dopamine when the price goes up. Also I am one of those people who always want the price to go down in short term so that I can buy more bitcoins at a cheaper rate and also hope that in the long term the price will go up because I want an appreciation for my investment that I have been doing for so many years.

Shouldn't they be happy when the price does go up? They are making profit. They invested on the coin with the hope of making some profit! And obviously they are going to be sad when the price goes down. When the price goes down they think they made a loss (but what they don't understand is that they haven't made any loss as long as they hold the coins). That is why they get sad.
Since you haven't invested on bitcoin, there is nothing for you to be sad about since you aren't making any loss.

It's common when you are already invested in bitcoin and just waiting for the market price of bitcoin to increase of course you are going to be happy when the market price goes up and you are not going to be happy when the market price goes down since you are losing profit when that happened. A lot of investors are going to be happy also when the market price is a dump because they could reinvest in bitcoin so that they could sell their bitcoin when the market price is higher again. Still, you could be bought when you already have an investment in bitcoin for long term when the market price is dumped surely your not going to be happy but you could still invest if you still got some funds so that you are not going to lose that opportunity to make a profit and it will be a double profit when market pumps.

There are different kind of bitcoin adopters:
Early adopters and long term holder (who never think about buying and not even with any dips as well).
Spot traders (who frequently buy low and sell high).
Derivative traders (who are known for riding on all market directions).
Active investors and new adopters (who do get funds from other sources and awaiting for dips).

Out of these types, spot traders, active investors and new adopters will be happy on seeing low prices for bitcoin markets. Because only they look for cheaper prices for obvious reasons. Long term holders will get upset on seeing falling market conditions as they do not have any plan to buy more. (Derivative traders will not mind where market is heading; for them both rising and falling market conditions are same).

Simply, if you are waiting for prices to become cheaper then you will be happy otherwise you also will be joining most other bitcoiners to be happy only when bitcoin prices go up.

Most people become excited or happy when prices go up because they're "following the money". This means that they're into Bitcoin for making a quick buck, instead of using it as an alternative to the existent monetary system. For me, it's not about price but rather utility. So far, Bitcoin has been delivering as promised with its decentralized and censorship resistant design. The fact that Bitcoin is scarce in supply, should result in higher prices in the future. As long as Bitcoin is useful as a cryptocurrency for daily payments or as a store of value, there should be nothing to worry about.

People who have a large investment in Bitcoin will always be waiting for prices to go up. Others, will be hesitant for prices to go down the drain in order to buy more Bitcoin. While most people are into Bitcoin for making money, some are true believers of it. I'd prefer that people would focus on using Bitcoin instead of speculating on it, but I guess it's something that's inevitable. Speculation will always exist on the crypto market, like it's the case with the traditional stock market. Which ever way you decide to go forward with Bitcoin will be up to you. Just my opinion

Whatever the increase is that it will always be expected and not just about the price, but if it is only related to the price of bitcoin and other crypto then there is nothing wrong either. Prices in the cryptocurrency market do not always get an increase and it is very reasonable when there is a pump going on then many people are happy, prices in the crypto market are always going up and down and there is definitely a time for them to expect both but it will make sense if the price increase is something that is expected, although the decline will also be an opportunity for you to buy more but honestly, the decline is something that is worrying and the pleasure for the price to go down is something that is inappropriate.

On a personal level when people have bought the coin and market goes up or their investment value rises everyone will fell good beacuse they have made money though it is still unreal it’s until sold it . On other hand when you are not holding it and want to buy at that time you will like market to be lower so that you will be able to buy at lower price . You're right. I agree with you. I am happier when the price of Bitcoin goes down because I can invest some more money in Bitcoin. Not everyone can be happy when the price of Bitcoin goes down because there are many people who hold Bitcoin with all their money. They do not have extra money so they can't invest more money in Bitcoin.Because of this they are only happy when the price of Bitcoin goes up. If you want to be happy when the price of Bitcoin goes down, you need to have more money to invest in Bitcoin.

i agree on that people really become more happy when the price rise because they saw that thier crypto coin,holdings,etc,.Has more profit to get or to harvest sometimes people are getting bored on waiting for the price to rise to gain more profit, that is why when the price is rising they will become happy for they can sell bulk coin on exchange to fiat as profiting source.

I guess those people you are pertaining with is just bunch of newbies who still don't appreciate the volatility of bitcoin . Because if you encountered real investors which are experienced, you will change your mind. Most of them (including me) love the bearish days too. Yeah! I admit that it was a little bit frustrating in our part because it bring negative ambiance after all, but instead of being lonely the whole day, the wiser thing to do is to hoard more of course. Sounds greedy but I guess that's just a part of continuing the circulation.

From which I think won't be happening because of how Bitcoin progress throughout the years. The thing about 2017 is that the hype of Bitconnect and ICO made Bitcoin known to every part of the world which then even not investors who doesn't even know what Bitcoin is tried to invest in Bitcoin and most of them loss. With that, dump happened and now natural growth is in place. I really doubt Bitcoin would dump $1,000, not with this development and halving taking place. Price will keep on increasing which I think results into people adopting Bitcoin. That's why a lot of people are happy about price going up.

When you buy anything and its price goes up, it is natural that people are happy. No one will be happy if the bitcoin price goes down. However there are few cases when people get happy on bitcoin price dump.

-The only exception to this is those who are trading and shorting bitcoins, they will get profits if the bitcoin price moves down.
- Also those who are in binary trading may get happy on bitcoin dump.
- Thirdly there are people who want to buy bitcoin but waiting for the lower price.

So when we see the price increase, and we know that we make a profit, that will make us happy. Happiness will be more feel when the money is at our account, and we can withdraw it into our bank account

That is just normal because some people are already HODLing some Cryptocurrencies and not just Bitcoin. It is natural to be happy if some prices go up because that may be their time to sell some of their stocks. It also depends on our points of view on the subject and you are not the only one who is also happy when prices goes down.
