Why no one is pointing to the fact that Blacks, who constitute for 13% of the population is accused in 39% of the crimes?
If you want to make use of statistics, then you can't be selective. You can't just show the data that suits your narrative, and hide those which counter your argument.
you have to put it into context of alot of other data to come to any summary
theres even great info about the how many cops are in the street per 100k populous
and how many 'police employees' total vs cops on street
las vegas has more station based police than officers on the street
where as chicago has more officers on the street than 'employee's in the station
this usually shows how police budgets are spent
for instance washington DC has a high 'employee' level and a high officer level and also a high ratio of the mix
this means well funded departments that can afford lots of detectives and lots of officers
however chicago has half the budget per populous and so the spend a little more of the limited budget for officers on the street than on detectives
this results on them wanting to do 'quick arrests' to get maximum benefit of their budget. and not want to do detailed investigations/detective work
also the evidence gathering and attention to detail about truly proving a crime is done by a suspect which leads to more innocent people getting arrested for more petty stuff just to get their arrest numbers up
other interesting data points are
seatle has a higher 'household income' that washington DC, so you would think this would mean more state tax = more 'law enforcement employees/officers'
year washington DC has more officers based on numbers per 100k populous
chicago has a lower household income = less state tax.. yet has more cops than seatle
so its no surprise that in a lower household income area with higher cops and not much detective work. then yea certain petty crimes that can be handled quickly get handled
where as other area's where there is more being spent on detectives. and where the income is higher then less of the petty crimes are handled and they actually bother to investigate and only concentrate on the bigger crimes that matter
