They are really both great fighters, but as I have said, Garcia is young and talented and all the tools to KO Campbell. I say it's cherry pick because as much as Campbell is good in paper, he can't match against Garcia speed and the young fighter is really ambitious to get to the next level, Loma for a huge payment and he will do everything to make that fight happen in the future by destroying Campbell and giving us a good showing.
Yeah, you were right, it is indeed a cherry pick for Garcia I am amazed how he fight inside the ring. Garcia is really good at counter attack that would lead to KO if the opponent is too slow. I guess team Campbell already know this and finding a way how to handle Garcia in the ring. Most of those previous opponents of Garcia are already lost once they lost control of their selves while some of them are outsmarted or too naive of how strong is Garcia's punch.

This might be a good show if Campbell could outsmart Garcia inside the ring. Grin

Thanks, I thought I was the only one who see this whole fight as a setup to make Garcia look good again. And they are also good to make Campbell can pull an upset and outsmart Garcia in the ring. But in my opinion, Campbell doesn't have the right tools, that's why I said this is a cherry pick and easy fight for Garcia. But the odds won't be that attractive for us boxing gamblers.

I'm also inclined that indeed this fight is a set-up for Garcia for that big fight in the near future. I just can't understand why Garcia kept on whining on why he has not gotten that big money fights, have they not communicating?

When it comes to betting, i'm sure Garcia would be the huge favorite here and as i've said that if the odds is 10x for Campbell then still i would bet for the later  Grin. In boxing, there is no such thing as an easy fight and the probability of an upset is always there and i love to gamble for that lol.

Because fighter like him at a young age, really wanted to showcase their skills and make a name for themselves. It takes time and of course a good promoter like Oscar. He doesn't need to go after his promoter and the good thing is that everything has been iron out already.

I agree, it is better to throw some money on Campbell specially if the odds are going to be like 10x. Small risk but big rewards.

That's for sure you're taking the risk even though the fight has no assurance for the choosen boxer. But based on your analysis mate, I think it's convincing since you're pertaining to Garcia as the most in demand. Am not really used to betting with boxing because I only loved to watch the most interesting fight of best fighters like pacman.

Pacman is on the sunset of his career now mate and if you really a fan of this sweet science of boxing you will be interested on the new faces of boxing like Ryan Garcia, Stevenson and many others, you just have to follow each of them to get an update.

With regards to betting on boxing, though a slim probability but it is not always a sure win for the favorite on the bookies, an upset also happens and that's where the underdog bettors won some substantial amount of money, small bet high winnings, but as i have said, it seldom happens but frequently among the Pinoy boxers  Smiley.

Or better way to put it, Maybe Ryan Garcia could be the next Pacman for all we know.

The last great upset is AJ vs Ruiz I,  that's another good lesson for gamblers to really bet on the underdogs because we really don't know what's going to happen. It could be one punch that will change the complexion of the fight, or complete domination of the underdogs, like Ruiz did to AJ or Pacman did to Marco Antonio Barrera in their first fight also.

So, this fight has a date now and what makes this interesting is if Ryan Garcia would secure the win on this fight then i think he is on the collision course with Teofimo Lopez, the recently crowned unified Lightweight king but of course with the approval of their respective promoters.

Quote
The much-discussed showdown between Ryan Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) and Luke Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs) has been set in stone for Saturday, Dec. 5, in a 12-round fight for the interim WBC lightweight title.

So it's time for Garcia to show what he really got if he wanted his name to be in the discussion for a future Lopez showdown, he also have the power, but I don't so him with enough head movement though and Campbell might have the experience to maybe made Garcia uncomfortable fighting backwards. So this will be another boxing match that could make Garcia break into the lightweight as there are a lot of names in that division specially that it has open up with the Lopez win.

I think it really depends on his performance in this upcoming fight. If he does well, then he will have a chance to fight with Lopez in his next fight. I just have some question? will he get only one title if he defeat the current unified champion or it depends on the contract signed by both parties?

It depends on the approval and if it is sanction by the governing boxing body, that's all championship matches are done they should have a sanctioned and agreement if it is a title fight, sometimes the other governing body do not want to sanctioned so the holder retains it even if he losses that is what I understand but I could be wrong.

Super Featherweight World Champion Rene Alvarado vs Roger “The Kid” Gutierrez (24-3-1, 20 KOs) - as co main-event. This is a good match included in the as co main event, both as brawler, so probably good to include this if you are betting on this fight.

Base on their records, they are not that far with regards to their experience as Luke is only ahead of 3 fights but Ryan has a perfect record
even if he has only 20 professional fights while Luke has 23 professional fights but has 3 losses.

Their KO's are very close also, Luke has 16k KO's while Ryan has 17 KO's. This fight will be close especially if none of them will go down and it will
end up to the score card then there is a possibility that the experienced boxer will win this fight. But still, the possibility is not that high
so we can say that it will be a close fight but the odds are favoring to Luke with a 58% winning percentage upon checking the odds.

But based on the last 4 fights of Ryan Garcia, he won by KO and he is still very young but has power in both hands. Romero Duno was supposedly his toughest test, but he knock him out in just one round. Again, records is good to look at, and maybe they have close KO, but Ryan's resume is different as he is stepping up his opposition and destroying them. This will be a good fight as Ryan could set up a fight with Davis or anyone at 130-135 lbs right now and go for more titles.

Not a bad odd, it's really attractive to be honest, and yes I agree that in the future, we might see Ryan Garcia vs Lopez for the best in light-weight division. Luke Campbell, is good as well, but with the recent upset of Loma, this fight might have an odds swing as the fight gets close, much better to put our bet as this early (at least for me, if you are a Ryan Garcia fan).

You are right, much better to bet early, 1.60 is already a good odds for Ryan Garcia, I looked at my sportsbook now and it's only 1.57 for Ryan Garcia and this could actually move as the game is nearing as most bettors put their money close to the scheduled date.

Yes, as the fight draw closer, we might see like @1.3 odds for Ryan Garcia and then we look for other options to stake again for a good odds in return. But if you bet early, as per my experience hunting at least @1.6 and higher are good for ML and you can bet $100, and if you win, it's not that bad.

Of course it's not a guarantee but we have seen how good Ryan is the last couple of fights and this kid has pop and his ring IQ is slowly developing.

He is Oscar Dela Hoya's golden boy now and he is the target of many boxers who wants to become huge, have you seen how Haney wanting to fight Garcia and how thery even confronts Hopkins of Golden Boy to make the fight happen here is the video of it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iFK0fAWU9g

Not only Haney but many boxers wants to have a piece of Garcia he is the biggest attraction now in the light division.

Update: The fight is cancelled, Luke Campbell tested positive of corona virus (ouch!!)

Quote
A planned interim title fight between two of the leading lightweight contenders is officially on hold after England’s Campbell (20-3, 16KOs) tested positive for COVID-19. Representatives from Golden Boy Promotions—Garcia’s promoter and the lead for the event—and Campbell’s career-long promoter Matchroom Boxing both confirmed the news on Tuesday.

this is going to hurt more on Ryan Garcia, he was the favourite here and everyone is looking for him to win via knockout and then face Haney who won last week.

(a) So it's either Golden Boy and DAZN look for replacement fighter or;
(b) Wait for another two weeks and schedule it on December 19, because it also says that Campbell have recovered already and just waiting for a 2 weeks isolation protocol.

Probably better to go for option b; it's just two weeks anyways, it will be Golden Boy 'revenge' on Canelo for leaving them, as it will go head to head with his fight with Caleb Plant, Lol. Doesn't make sense to get a replacement and then Garcia won, we will have to wait them probably next year before they can fight and maybe that time the whole landscape of the division has change already.

I'm sure Garcia will understand it, the money is still there and the boxing fans doesn't mind waiting for two weeks just to see Garcia fight again.

It is unfortunate that we have to wait a little longer. I don't think they'll schedule it the same day as Canelo's fight. They both have the same trainer. They will probably reschedule it for the day before or a few weeks later.

What's crazy is that Garcia's promoter has been talking about putting him against Teofimo Lopez. I think it is still too early for that fight but if he can beat Campbell convincingly it'll show us whether or not he's ready for the elite level.
