If you look into CoinMarketCap website you will notice on the top the WSB token.
 


This token does not exist.
There is a statement on the site that this is just a joke but only if you click on the token link.

I've seen already one ANN with WTB coin so be careful where you put your money.

It's quite unfortunate that some people will still loose their hard earned money due to their negligence and Lack of research.
And on the other hand, I feel very bad and disappointed at coinmarketcap for this childish act, I know they meant absolutely no harm with that joke but they should realize that scammers who are always looking for good opportunities to scam unsuspecting victims will take this as a great opportunity for them to perpetrate their evil act.
If I was asked, I would say coinmarketcap should take down that their little nice joke before innocent people begin loosening their hard earned money because of it.

There is no wonder with people falling such kind of scams because they exists all the time because they want to invest on something which mentions high returns without any research. Anyway let those ignorant people to lose their money and learn the lesson for life is the only actual way.

Thanks for the warning that surely newbies will eventually fall if there's someone who will exploit this joke.  I don't like this kind of joke, IMO because scammers will find a way how to exploits this, and most commonly those social media groups that will prone to have a victim innocents people.  CMC is very popular and well-known as a market tracker, we can't blame if someone will fall and rob their money in front of them without having proper research.

However, this case was already raised on the scam accusation board.  It might be good if someone who will discuss on the Beginners and Help board too.

We should be thankful for this input and everyone here will be warned.

Scammers should not be underestimated with their strategy and as a good person, we don't want to feed them any ideas to use for scamming people. Thankfully, there are some people who warn those who are ignorant about this and preventing them from depositing any money that links with these joker coins or whatsoever. They really need to consider what could have happened before they execute such kind of prank because once someone becomes a victim by using their jokes to scam, they cannot say sorry for it.

So far I haven't found her yet, but thanks for letting us know that someone took her condition as a topic of conversation this week. ah they are too many, it is very unsportsmanlike to make coins with such a name. an immoral person is not responsible. this needs to be informed more broadly. because the official twitter account does not say that they have coins in his name.

There are also telegram groups that are named after WSB. It's these scammers that are riding the popularity of WSB and bringing it on to the crypto market. If not wrong CoinMarketCap doing the same thing add a joke coin/token on their website and some people thinking was really and some scammer take the advantage to create the fake token/coins forget what the coin name was.

You're right about the April fool joke coin but it, not the first joke crypto added on the CoinMarketCap and if I could remember correctly Howey Coins was the joke coin, it was said to be traded on SEC compliant exchange and it ANN thread was created by theymos then.
With that been, the joke coin isn't enough for newbies to get scam cause a single click on the WSB is enough to make newbies understand that every about the coin is just for fun newbies.

Good that you warned the community of this possible scam, but why is cmc making such expensive joke, putting it up on their site and making people think it is real, this space is very vulnerable and naive people can be get caught up with such things, I hope enough people will see this warning in other not to get scammed for such a joke.
