Here's the catch, sure the numbers are very high when it comes to bitcoin trading and cryptocurrency in general in Nigeria but how many of this enthusiast actually use bitcoin for their day to day expenses that need for an ATM should be deem necessary?

Trading is for making money.
ATMs are for losing a good chuck for it in the name of privacy.
How many people do you think to give a damn about ti after they've done KYC with 200 companies a year for bounties and stuff like that?
I have more ATMs near me than entire Africa, do you think everyone around here issuing them? No, the only ones that use them are the ones trying to keep as much information out of the reach of banks as possible. Financially it makes no sense, driving to it, paying 5-10% in fees, then dealing with cash, it's far more tiresome than simply doing cheap and fast SEPA transfer. And lately, the fees have begun to spike, even shitcoin.club who had reasonable ones and are always loaded with money are asking right now for 8.2 when selling, common!!!!!!

One thing, I don't know how accurate coin radar is but google needs to clean its act for Streetview when it comes to Africa!!!!
I was curious about the Uganda Atm as it's listed at a post office, so it looked a bit more, how to say legal and official, but when I searched for the address, oh god, it sent me here which seems like a correction facility on the amount of barbed wire.

It's a wonderful that in African we have a quantum's of bitcoin ATM machines, most especially in south Africa were we had numbers of machines.
That is to show that btc transactions is going to be over propagate fully in Africa and their  will no longer be existence of scam of btc in Africa due to the machines.
From my perspective bitcoin ATM will bring reduction of stress in cryptoccurrency transactions.
I really acknowledge the topic sentence of this text and the writer.
Because with these directives i have noticed the locations of bitcoin ATM's in south Africa, Ghana,Nigeria and other africa coutries for easy transaction of btc and others that don't know, at least have noticed basic knowledge of bitcoin ATM by its description.

I applaud you for a tangible research.

Yeah, everyone's taking advantage of fees. Even some sites I know doubling their w/d fees and then you see they just batch it up anyway AND pocket all the fees they charge customers and STILL not even on a good fee in the end.

And yea, Google streetview is unfortunately never going to be good in parts of the world where there ARE no Google cars going around. I spend a lot of my time in South Sudan correcting the roads and locations -- but you also have to blame users as in these locations it's 100% reliant on users verifying and correcting.

P.S. the pic you showed me looks perfectly normal for a government building in East Africa. They have protected compounds like that, normally with a high ground barrier so you can't rush in, and someone at the guardhouse before the gates to enquire before opening. You haven't been to Uganda have you?Wink

Well, not to Uganda, but as much as that would explain part of my assumption, I could have just changed the position and zoomed in a bit.

But just to make sure I've checked some others locations and most seem like being quite safe, I don't imagine you want to go to an ATM in a bad neighborhood where everybody knows people are going there to picks lots of cash.
The only one that looks a bit suspicious is the one in Ghana, but again pics from 2010, even here in Europe we have a mall and a spa center where 5 years ago it was an orchard.

Yeah right, scams are no longer possible in other countries because of ATMS, lol.
You do know that there are some scams happening right now exactly because of ATMs? (alongside with the lack of knowledge and the gullibility of the victim of course)

Wow, I never knew bitcoin Automated Teller Machines have extended widely in these part of the world. I am glad that Africa has not been left behind in this technology and they are picking things up gradually. I would be happy to see a blockchain solution stem from any of the countries though.

Glad to see that most of developing countries realized the value of bitcoin and allow to use Bitcoin ATM. On the other hand, feeling sad that my country still arresting crypto users. Bitcoin ATM could keep a major role in Bitcoin adoption. Its because we can buy sell bitcoin more easily. Otherwise, we must look for peer to peer or some exchange to buy sell bitcoin. To be honest I hadn't imagined that so many countries from Africa allowing Bitcoin ATM machine, just now noticed from OP. Good list by the way.

Hoping to see more Bitcoin ATMs not only in African regions. There are still more countries who are a developing countries but still they do not engage in the use of cryptocurrency in their places. Nepal is an underdeveloped country that's why they ban the use of cryptocurrency, which is a shame for their government for being a closed-minded authorities. We should not let other people in other countries to struggle in withdrawing their bitcoin, they should spread those bitcoin ATMs in many places so that people will not have a hard time to travel in far and distant places just to access bitcoin atms.

Wow, this is interesting.
I'm more excited to see my country. I believe this is just for a test run. Very soon we should have the machine in more locations as this will even help move Bitcoin faster. But I keep wondering how Bitcoin will retain being a digital currency with this machine. So, please will it still be coming out as cash.wont we also need people to be in charge of those machines. I hope our government will cooperate with us..

That's a good progress with the increasing usage of bitcoin. Africa getting 17 ATM in 9 different countries is just a beginning to the usage of bitcoin. Bitcoin ATMs were found much in America, may be this will grow slowly in Africa. In a recent article read about the unlicensed ATM that's been set in different states. As Op mentioned at the last, be careful on using ATMs and don't fall for scams.

I'm having a trouble finding a bitcoin Atm here in our country and I'm not sure if there's one existing here.

Hoping that someone or some businesses will place a license bitcoin ATMS in some malls here so that people who want to use it will not have a hard time to withdraw. Just like the bitcoin adoption in Africa, most of its region have a bitcoin ATM, which is really I envy the most. We are also a developing country but this kind of adoption is not yet in our country.

Bitcoin ATMs are pretty limited and some of the old bitcoin ATMs before closed after the bitcoin ATH. You can try using this map to find your nearest bitcoin ATM [https://coinatmradar.com]

This is what I hope that happen to in our city, It's very rare for me to see and experience using it, I actually used it for one time and I literally travel far from my home just to experience it.

WARNING!  Scammers do scam using bitcoin ATMs, some can offer fake employment telling people to pay certain amount of bitcoin so to get employed. There are many other bitcoin scam:
https://coinatmradar.com/faq/#scam
Yes, there are many of the likes of this scam. Even bounty hunters get scam by letting them.pay a certain amount of money for them to process the rewards and give it back to the bounty hunters. If one is really desperate in need of money then pretty sure that one will get scam. Others are doing some old tricks but still very effective in scamming.

Bitcoin was been tag of the scammers activity and hopefully they will get or put to a stop so that bitcoin could be a better place for the users.

Lols, no worries. I had a bit of a culture shock myself when I first came to Europe. You point at a skills development centre that you thought was a prison, well I've seen a prison in Europe that looks like a library. So fair, we all have new things to see in the world haha.

Hot Shots, oh man. But yeah, I'm going to scout out the BATMs near me again some time next month, curious to see what new KYC requirements will be on there;)

Wow, this is a great compilation and hardwork you did to liberate the heart of Africans towards the latest ways of blockchain and cryptocurrency as a whole. Many especial me had had a doubt that ATM machine is of absence in African countries but his post shows alot of forwardness in some African DNA of adopting new blockchain technology.  I'm really expecting many African countries especially the ones not listed to take on a battle to include it in their monetary system as it makes transactions  easier and faster.

ATMs just another one method to fool people with extremtly high fees. There are so many p2p exchanges, dexs, etc and people are still prefer atms
Indeed. It's becoming similar to fiat exchange houses mafias, which never sell or buy dollars for the official price we see on the daily news.
But I believe these atms aren't so popular. People nowadays aren't fool to waste so much money in fees just to use a gorgeous modern physical bitcoin money machine. All crypto exchanges have to do now is a good propaganda and explain people the benefits of exchaging through their platforms instead of atms.

Thank you for sharing list Bitcoin ATMs in Africa, that's good list and I'm quite surprised that there are also many Bitcoin ATMs in Africa.
With Bitcoin ATMs spread across various African countries, this will help Bitcoin grow more rapidly in Africa. Unfortunately in my country
there is not a single Bitcoin ATM yet, even though my country has legalized Bitcoin.

so africa is one hotspot for bitcoin with the bitcoin atm around pretty sure that africa has lots if bitcoin user. I miht just thinking what could be the status in our place when it comes to using bitcon. It seems like an atm is nit really needed here due to digital devices that could be done just using like smartphones. Fiat conversion is way comfort too using banks and remittances connected to our digital wallets which had been approved from the governmet to operate.

No, that is not acceptable, it can be more convenient to use bitcoin ATM, the transaction fee is high but you can need cash immediately. Also, bitcoin ATM really helping bitcoin adoption, and it is a good thing. It is good that people like bitcoin ATM. Later, it will even help about bitcoin adoption the more.

Unfortunately in my country
there is not a single Bitcoin ATM yet, even though my country has legalized Bitcoin.
Really? Where is it? I am a bit surprised about this, why in a country that Bitcoin is legal already, we cannot find a single Bitcoin ATM there.
Well, even Bitcoin ATM isn't something fundamental thing, but it can indicate a good adoption of Bitcoin in a country. So, once the Bitcoin ATMs already exist there, we can expect that the Bictoin has become something considered good and needed by many people in the country. If it is legal there, it is likely the people use Bitcoin in daily life, whether for payment tools or digital assets only.

Well other government has legally accepted bitcoin but not applied to all of the community for consumption instead it is just for those who really love the technology and will not be able to continue it without the government's approval. In this case the government will just handle exchanges by providing them license to operate and regulate crypto based on their understanding but only limited to the establish crypto. Canada has been doing it after some news that there are quite few exchanges given licence to operate as cryptocurrency exchange.

Even though Bitcoin ATMs have large transaction fees, they are still in high demand by the cryptocurrency community.
I am very happy to know that Africa has become widely available Bitcoin ATMs, hopefully with a continued increase
Bitcoin ATMs in Africa making many countries in Africa legalize Bitcoin to be used as payment tools. If that can happen
on a massive scale will certainly make the price of Bitcoin also higher, and that is good for Bitcoin holders.
