@jackg, I think we need to try to contact the node owners and check if they all still have their own nodes online.

I'm looking for someone to open a channel for some outgoing liquidity and I would prefer to open channels with people from the forum but if they are all offline, then there is no point, I guess.

@Timelord2067, do you have a node and it is mostly online? Do you have your node key in this thread?

It's potentially easier just to go through and check which ones work since there's not so many. I'd try DaveF's as I think my channel with them is still open.

Just as a heads-up, my node is online and hasn't been offline for a longer while in months (it did crash about half a year ago, and was offline for a couple of weeks back then)... The problem is my btcpayserver implementation. It's written in .net, and it's slooooow... It regularly times out and shows my node as being offline, while in reality it never went offline, btcpayserver just timed out.

I could add a dot onion to the list if you have one for the node (I thought most function over the dark net anyway as there's no other option for electrum).

I don't have one for the node... I do run some other hidden services (for example, my tbtc faucet is accesible as a hidden service), but not this node.
If i have some spare time next week, i might look into it, i run a tor daemon anyways, so it should be pretty a pretty trivial task to accomplish. thanks for the tip Smiley

The point was to know if they still have their nodes or if they have a new pub key or something. They could be still running their nodes but for some reason they got a new pub key and address or IP.

I finally managed to set up a permanent node again. Since the transaction fees have been quite high right lately, I am going to gradually open a few small channels in the next few weeks. I should be able to open the first channel today, though.

Also, @jackg why don't you alter darkv0rt3x's node details in the first post so that they look like other entries on the list?

I've added your node to this list.

And I didn't think it was necessary to have them all the same (and they said they were going to update theirs every so often too).

My Lightning node will be down for a couple of days. I decided to move from a Raspberry Pi to a normal server. Unfortunately, LND does not support moving the channel database between different architectures, so I had to close all of my channels. I will reopen them gradually once I have configured my new server.

Hi,

the list in the OP for any clear web (for want of a better description) nodes are all uncontactable.  Is there any chance the list can be updated?

Also as a side comment, having nodes behind an Onion firewall (again, for want of a better description) mean there's actually two Lightning Networks and two main-net block-chains operating in tandem.

Yeah I plan on going through them in a few weeks to see which function and which don't but there didn't seem to be much demand here atm.

I imagine the lightning devs will probably come up with some way to link the two networks if it hasn't already be done as it would be a good improvement to the network (and seems like it'd be possible - you can connect to the light Web over the dark Web though so it might already be possible - they already signed a ct and "redeem info").

Edit: Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep my node up. I hope this changes soon and I can post updated info here again. Good luck and thanks to all of you keeping the network going.

Here's my node info, I've been online for just a month. I'll be looking to add a channel or two every month. My main goal is to support the network and run this sustainably without a profit. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for supporting the network! I have just opened a small channel to you. Enjoy some free inbound liquidity. By the way, what software is your node running?

Thank you, much appreciated! The node is running RaspiBlitz 1.7 on a Rpi 4.

I can open a channel back as well but wanted to check with you first. I can open an additional 500k sat channel this month if anyone else would like some inbound liquidity.

I have just realized that I haven't balanced out my other channels yet so you won't be able to receive any coins through my channel. I am waiting for the fees to go down again so that I don't have to pay an outrageous miner fee at Boltz. It should happen in the next few hours.

I can open a channel back as well but wanted to check with you first.

Thanks, but you should save those coins for someone else Wink

i've setup my first lightning node some days ago (i lost the time...)

some bulletpoints for why you might connect with my node:

  • 24/7 online hosted on a small vps in the netherlands
  • running openbsd
  • running c-lightning
  • accessable over ipv4 and ipv6

i consume und communicate mostly over email, you can find the email on my homepage - of course you can also send me a pm to start a conversation, i am looking forward to other people here from the forum running lightning and contributing to something big
