tbh, reaching $1 is like punching the moon! even $0.1 is quite a challenge as they are currently trading at about $0.007 - 0.008. so attaining 10cents is increasing about 12 folds from its current price. they have dev updates on their websites but ask yourself what needs to happen to increase a tremendous percentage from their current standing?

I remember this altcoin was fomo by a lot of people and the price went up many times, then the market crashed and also caused this project to fall. down several times. And it's too hard for it to go back to what it used to be because it's too old

Most probably would delist to nothing than hit $1. Its still down 97.4% from its peak despite so many alts making big gains in 2020. I would not try to get into this hoping for it to increase 140x. Do you realize it has supplyof 16.5B. There is zero % chance of a privacy coin like verge to hit 16B market cap. It wont be mainstream. Only privacy coins which are doing ok are Monero and Dash and they are down big from their peak in early 2018 phase. I think for cryptocurrency to hit mainstream it needs buy in from regulators and that wont happen for privacy based coins.

I did invest in verge back in late 2017 and saw it rise up to 2000 sats and then crash. Thankfully I exited my position at profit around 1000 sats. I lost money looking for privacy coins that could go up huge with Obsidian(that is delisted as developers lost interest). So be careful what you wish for.

News and promotion only create hype for project which are what most crypto investors follow these days. However, the long existence of a project doesnt mean the project is not investors follow now and looking at the Verge project they only use Tor with SSL encryption and Wraith Protocol. With the competition in the privacy coin scheme it will be hard for them thrive if they didnt upgrade their system and do some few promotions.

It's not only impossible but that will never be achieved by this coin. 5 cent for each coin is also difficult to be achieved by verge at this moment. People were leaving the verge market to invest in another coin. verge is also not showing a good result on the its price. It's getting dumped even more.

This coin will have the same possibility to increase like the other coins, especially if the bull run comes again at the market.

If you are holding XVG, then you should keep on holding it for few more months or maybe one year. When bitcoin will reach all time high, the market cap of the overall crypto currencies will increase and all the altcoins will pump as they did in early 2017. Verge actually has no future at all. All of the partnership gave nothing to the price of the token and so many times it was getting hacked and the dev's reputation has already destroyed since the buggy verge chain was getting hijacked.
There are some people still believe with the promises that has already made by the team but a lot of people who were not feeling confidence already leave from this project.

Considering the price of the coins it is trading at around 0.005$ and the last ATH was in 2017 at 0.26$. In last 1 years, in terms of returns it has been positive till now with 15% YOY price rise. But, as such not really something I am looking for as there are several other coins in between which even of short term I need to look will be few others which has being rising continuously.
