If you certainly bought ETH at $120 this year and want to recover from your previous in the year 2018, waiting for ETH to reach $1000 is a worse decision when the market seems to be experiencing some market that could either lead to downtrend or uptrend in price. The decision is to sell some portion at least 50% of the holding now for stable coin and you still use it to reinvest later if the market later decides to downtrend rather keeping all your eggs in a single basket.

There isn't much reason, other than the ethereum 2.0 that is about to the launched. I guess the testnet is out already as people have started testing it. By the time the main update is out, many may not believe their eyes, because there will be a great flight. The ground is currently being prepared.
