  • A wife bought a scratch-off lottery ticket to prove a point to her husband that it was a waste of money, but it ended up winning her $1 million. Source

What a big slap to his wife and his wife should really eat the words he spoke to her husband. I bet that the wife will do more sratch lottery more than his husband think. This could e a really game changer to a people life especially she believe that there's no point buying lottery tickets.

I didnt expect for Tesla to have that kind of past but at least he do able to get out and we know on how great and popular this man become.

Tesla lived a very miserable life. Died poor too. I believe many people didn't even know his name before Elon made him famous. Now almost everybody at least knows the name.

I don't know. maybe there are conditions. like you have to be a natural-born citizen in order to be included in the no-income-tax just like in UAE(not the same as no-income-tax) where the government provide allowance(not sure if it is monthly or how much. I don;t know the full detail) to their local citizen/natural-born citizen.

Found this:

Quote
To become a Monaco permanent resident (and ultimately a citizen), you must meet multiple requirements. First, you are required to invest a minimum of 1,000,000 euros of which 500,000 euros must be deposited and kept in a Monaco bank. The other 500,000 euros must be put towards the purchase of a deed of the property in Monaco. Additionally, we will need to prove to the Monaco government that you have sufficient bank funds to provide for your residence in Monaco (verified by references from your bank) and that you will have the means to procure adequate accommodations within Monaco assuming your investment property will not be your place of residence.
Quote
To become a citizen of Monaco you must meet the following requirements. First, you must have continuously resided in Monaco for ten years. Second, you must no longer be subject to conscription or military service in another country. Third, you must renounce any foreign nationality you currently possess. Monaco does not recognise any dual nationality.
https://sterlingmigration.com/monaco-residency-by-investment/#:~:text=To%20become%20a%20citizen%20of,foreign%20nationality%20you%20currently%20possess.

Cheaper than what I thought tbh.

yeah, it's pretty cheap. but seeing in the article that they can still deny the citizenship application even if you meet all the requirement is too much of a hassle even if you can apply multiple times. also the fact the you'll have to renounce your old citizenship just to get the benefit of no-income-tax is a little too much(at least for me).

So you would rather prefer to have your freedom to gamble over the Monaco citizenship? That's rich bruh. Many people probably would accept to lose their dicks to get a citizenship from Monaco. Cool

yeah, I would like to have my freedom to gamble and to have my original citizenship. I understand if there are some poeple who want to become a Monaco citizen since a no-income-tax is a huge help financially.

a very dangerous mindset to have. a lot of gamblers lost their money after winning because of the thought of "I might win again".

Very informative, really mind blowing. It turns out that there are lots of interesting facts about gambling, some of which even got me surprised.
Although the list of gambling facts in the opening post is quite long, it is worth reading. Just like most members of this forum for me point number
23 most mind blown, I can't imagine winning $ 1 million in just one shot.

Who would have thought that gambling, and religion was so intertwined. I'm not an expert in this field, but I'm pretty certain that gambling is frowned upon within the catholic space these days. Although, we do have to remember that a lot of modern day ethics, and morals are based from a religious stance, even if you're not religious in itself.

The #5 fact.
I didn't know that it was allowed by the biggest religion in the early times. But today, they are the ones that are disallowing it due to the beliefs that they have been teaching in this era. Just like the known quote that we know about change and being constant, yeah it happened to them.

Additional, since we are in a Bitcoin/cryptocurrency forum.

"The first ever involvement of cryptocurrency in online gambling was in August 2011. It was a poker gambling website where all payments were made in Bitcoin." - Source

So, if this is true, then the last August 2011 is the first included Bitcoin in some gambling, especially it is on a poker.
It's kinda amazing, isn't it? Up until now, using Bitcoin in online gambling is continue to grow and for us gamblers who use Bitcoin, it's more become convienent and more comfortable.

yeah that last part really caught my attention LoL, I really thought this only happens on Cartoons/Movies, this is definitely gone insane for both sides,... Don't know if can call this as "GREED IS GOOD"

edit:
Just read the article, seems like his life went out on a luck by chance and just like a wheel a fortune and a bad luck, but was really amazed for he actually won 😅

Quote
The ball ended up on 7 red and Revell doubled his money to $270,600.[4] Revell used his winnings to set up an online poker company called Poker UTD, which later went out of business in 2012 due to controversy over US frozen accounts.

That's correct, religion being perceived to be the powerhouse in terms of morality. Even modern ethical issues as gene editing and the use of AI and so on are being oftentimes scrutinized with the use of an ethical lens which is closely tied to religion.

However, while the Catholic space frowns upon gambling, if I am not mistaken, they do not consider gambling per se as a sin. Neither does involvement with it automatically considered sinful. I know for sure that even some priests gamble.

In Islam, on the contrary, gambling is generally considered haram.

I've enjoyed all the facts written here. Appreciate your efforts to compile all of these.

This one is interesting;
Quote
29.All gambling in Finland is controlled by the government, and all of the profits go to charity.

Finland government definitely did a good job on this. Doing some good deeds from gambling gains. First time to see such good idea from one particular country.

Quote
22.A village in India is addicted to chess after one man taught everyone how to play 50 years ago to stop excessive alcohol use and gambling which has now all declined to almost nothing.

This just indicates that even some gambling addict can be change just by diverting attention into other forms of acts, other games, etc. There's always a hope not to be too hooked and too addicted in gambling.

Wife just don't expect that they can win by just doing it 1 times chance to win in the lottery  is too low that there are much more chance that lighting will strike you than to win a lottery. His wife is telling the truth and explaining it to his husband that it is a just a waste of money if you are not really like doing it. It is just different  story when you are doing it regularly.

The spanish time here in our country had influence that much of our gambling activities today. The prayle or the priest before in spanish colonization had been gambling especially during fiesta like cock fighting to which mesa de gallo or the mass of the dawn where rooster usually awake and are always making coc ka do dol do sound were being correlated. So, the fact that the info being listed like that gambling started even before and are very successful.

Now, gambling is already in new style because of the technology that evolves in gambling and there are too many scammer now thab before I guess.

  • The card suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) came from the French Ancién Régime. Cups stand for the clergy, coins mean merchants, clubs are for peasants, and swords are the nobility. Source
This one was pretty amazing then. A lot could be obtained here for sources of stories tbh, imagine a 4 way meeting between said groups which govern over their respective people. Standard history right here.
  • Richard Nixon, 37th President of the United States, funded his congressional election campaign with money he won while playing cards in the South Pacific during World War II. Source
I guess I can't say that Gambling doesn't help you now does it. Not. Yeah it doesn't help you, this man is probably 1 out of a million that got lucky, look at Tesla (reference from this post as well)
  • A wife bought a scratch-off lottery ticket to prove a point to her husband that it was a waste of money, but it ended up winning her $1 million. Source
Should I try this as well? Gotta find a girlfriend first though. Grin
  • Gambling for cash is illegal in Japan. Instead, balls won from games are exchanged for prizes or tokens. These items are then exchanged for cash at a place nominally separate from the parlor. Source
With the amount they earn from gachas? I doubt they even need gambling casinos tbh. Japanese are legit addicted to gachas, I'm also about to actually.
  • Pinball was banned in NYC as a gambling device until 1976 when Roger Sharpe testified by playing pinball in the courtroom while calling out precisely what he was going to shoot for and scoring showing that it’s a game of skill and not chance. Source
Nostalgia. I can attest to this since I pretty much spent hours trying to control that bloody ball.
  • Gambling sites and betting odds are better at predicting election results than polls.Source
Don't, poll makers would lose their jobs.

  • In 2014, Singapore’s anti-gambling agency, in a bid to leverage the world cup fever, published an advert that showed a worried kid telling his friend that his father had bet all their savings on Germany winning the world cup. Germany won.Source
I guess Singapore just increased the amount of Singapore by then. Germany just made Singapore make a huge 180 right there.

Ahhh that was fun. Pretty good read, had some fun with it. If there weren't so many, I would've requested adding pics to make the read a tad bit less boring. Still, pretty funny facts out there somehow.

I thought the Catholic priest did not only support it in the past but still supports it now even in the modern era or maybe I'm watching to much movies that revolved around bad priests. I also learned that before Las Vegas was called Sin City, it was first called as "The Entertainment Capital of the World" then changed or added another moniker called "The Gambling Capital of the World". Number 21 was really true and that is why they called him Crazy Tesla.

Its just good to see that even gambling has its small beginning before even being promoted Internationally.

This fact got me thinking since yesterday; if the priest among others where involved in gambling(like what we do today): what happened when they decided to turned against what they used to built their worship palaces?. Could that be Pentecostals churches where or are responsible for this obstruction alongside the Islam?.

Personally, as a Christian, I decided to get involved into gambling because I believed it does no harm to my believed towards the divinity's. This fact has just made my day: I won't bent towards hypocrisy.

This is an interesting topic and some facts were unknown OP from the points you had posted it. It’s good to know about gambling and what is the history and the chances as well. Something like Zimbabwe president, FedEx CEO making the money from gambling and paying the fuel bill. Some are worth reading.
