I really do not know what it is about Anfield, but anytime City go there to play, you can just sense that they are going to struggle and that they might lose, and that was the case for the umpteenth time today, i mean, City came into this game the team with the stronger momentum, definitely higher up the table than their hosts, and with a striker that is brimming in confidence, you could just think this was the perfect time for City to really hit Liverpool hard in front of their crowd, but just as the game started and began to move, it became anyone's game.

Having said that, Cancelo was pretty bad today, unlike him, he was culpable for the goal and a couple other opportunites he gave away to Liverpool, i thought Pep would have just stuck with his normal formation, but he chose a back three today, not that it worked too badly against him, but maybe the players would have had more freedom playing the way they have been doing all season. Arsenal can smile really well now, they are four points clear at the top of the table, they are forcing everyone to believe in their title credentials, and i'm afraid i do believe in it.

After watching this midweek champions League games, and watching how Liverpool perform against a team like Rangers in an away game in Scotland, I sense danger and Salah quick hattrick after coming on in the second makes me think maybe this will do his confirm a lot of good and today you can see how different Liverpool look against a team like Manchester City level, Jürgen klopp has really understand how to play against pep Guadiola team, haaland was isolated then the midfield was not Manchester city strength.

In the end I was quite surprised that Liverpool won. Liverpool played really well, which is really commendable. Manchester City players fail to score again and again. Mohamed Salah's goal is just amazing. Many expected Manchester City to win, but Liverpool showed their mettle.

Even me myself never expected Liverpool to win the match today but still didn’t expect Manchester City to win easily. The match was just so unpredictable because both teams showed expertise in their last matches. I was expecting a draw or Liverpool to lose with one goal difference to Manchester City. After today's match, Manchester City are 4 points below Arsenal. This has create more hopes for Arsenal to continue topping the table and battle for the league champions.

Liverpool really surprised nearly all of us. I was also expecting Manchester City to win in Anfield considering the current situation of Liverpool defense. But they really changed roles with Manchester City in this match. Manchester City gave big openings to Liverpool players in defense. I mean especially to Salah. He found so many goal opportunities and finally benefited from one of them thanks to Cancelo's big mistake. In the last minutes Liverpool could have made it 2-0 also but Nunez was so selfish not to pass the ball to one of the two players who were free to score easily.

Haaland also could have scored actually as he found a couple of big chances. But Alisson was really great with his saves. Especially one of them was really difficult but he was still successful. Congrats to Liverpool on their very important win.

Manchester United failed to get full points from Newcastle, even though they played as home. They made 15 attempted shots but only 2 were shots on goal.

In the 59th minute, Manchester United almost got a penalty opportunity but after the referee looked at VAR, no penalty should be awarded to them.

On the other hand we also see that Liverpool won by a small score from Manchester City, finally there is a club that can break their dominance in the EPL this season, actually Manchester City should have taken the lead through Foden's goal, but the goal was disallowed by the referee. Arsenal and Chelsea made no mistake in the derby week and took 3 points each away from home. Aston Villa, managed by Steven Gerrad, didn't play badly against Chelsea but struggled to score goals. Arsenal's win is quite important too but Chelsea evolved to be a great team in my opinion. I think Manchester City's confidence was overhyped that's why they failed to get victory in Anfield. The whole chat of Liverpool against Machester city post-match was all pointing to Liverpool losing but see what happened in the end, indeed football is full of a surprise, though my conscience was telling me no stake in this match because this is the kind of match that do rekt the rest of the stake games.

I like Liverpool's recent performance, but don't you think they still have some work to do? 8th place is still outside the top 4, and the teams above them aren't the kind to want to give up either. If Liverpool can keep up their recent performance over the next two weeks, they will rise sooner than expected.

Liverpool has done a magic today what a victorious goal from Sallah. Man city wouldn't believed they will lose the match because they were in charge of the match but today was not a lucky day for Haalad.

Yes, I understand how you feel. indeed before this match, many people predicted that Manchester City would easily beat Liverpool. But in fact, the results of tonight's match actually surprised many parties. Liverpool's game tonight was full of high fighting power, I saw all the Reds players had the same vision to fight from adversity and it was proven that the collective game played by Klopp's troops was able to disrupt Klopp's strategy tonight and finally Liverpool managed to get important points and give the first defeat for Manchester City.

Liverpool won their match against Manchester City but I will not praise them that much because they missed so many chances because of greediness of the individual players. If they have converted many of their chances, it would have been atleast 3goals. Salah was very greedy so many occasions and did not pass the ball but the worst of it was Nunez who was blatantly selfish and yet could not score a goal.
Thanks to salah that finally made it up for the Liverpool Club. It is a win for the rest of EPL clubs who are unable to beat Man City.

I think the league is still open for everyone, after seeing Liverpool versus Manchester City today, with tactics klopp makes Manchester City looks ordinary, with their first defect of the season I think other teams won't be that scared of them again, I think the teams that will fight for the title is Manchester city, arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea, we all know that city remains the favourite, while arsenal are proving to be the most consistent team in England, in Tottenham you expect them as contender because of Conte and Chelsea has a world-class squad.

The game is wrapped up and Liverpool is victorious. Firs team to actually make Manchester City record a lose this season. Its so unexpected but Klopp has proved his ingenuity once more. I never would have thought it possible looking at the form of Liverpool.

Now, Arsenal is four points clear from Manchester City at the top of the league. Tottenham is now head to head with Manchester City.

The first defeat for City which makes Liverpool have confidence for the next game I think because indeed with their current condition a victory against a big team will obviously make their motivation higher than before although they must be aware that their performance is of course not too good because they have to always survive.
On the other hand, with this City defeat, Arsenal are clearly getting a blessing now.

Liverpool beat Manchester City 1-0. I'd say both teams played a bit nervously. Liverpool took the risk because they were the hosts.  I don't think it was a very enjoyable game.
United failed to take advantage of the derby week and drew at home. Of course, the opponent is not an easy opponent. You're playing a team with one defeat in 10 games. If he had won this game maybe things would have been better.

Maybe it started with the defeat against Arsenal where many people in the chat were only Manchester City who would win because statistically, Manchester City was far superior to Liverpool, who mostly lost and drew so that their ranking was in the middle of the standings.
But at Anfield they have motivation and solid metal so with this narrow win it is sure the squad can still beat the big teams and indeed football will be full of surprises.

The work will still be carried out by Jurgen Klopp so that the team can move up the standings slowly, although this is still far from being in the top 4 of the Premier League, but I believe Liverpool will be able to redeem the standings even though other teams will not just give up but the team's hard work will make them more confident.

We'll see how Liverpool's journey in the next two weeks will be better? As fans definitely expect their efforts to be good.

This was the game I looked forward to all through the past week. It was a fiercely contested game and Haaland's wing was clipped off. But a question on my mind about Man City's defeat is that - Was it the ref? Was it because Pep changed formation? Or was it because it was played at Anfield, which according to some football fans, is a difficult ground for other teams to win on?

I don't think so, in fact this defeat can make Pep more serious because he knows that no matter how strong the players and the tactics he has, there are still shortcomings and at this time the shortcomings can be seen from the quick counter-attack and when they control half the field this can still be used by the team. Another thing that makes Pep have to find a way to keep this from becoming weak again.
This match in addition to providing positive things for Liverpool is also a good lesson for Pep.

In the end I was quite surprised that Liverpool won.

Statistically, Liverpool has been doing incredibly well in Anfield. I dont think they have ever lose a single game since last season in Anfield yet ( EPL ) so that pretty much tells that there is a good chance that the game might ended in draw although I was quite surprised to actually think they won this. It was costly though with a red card on Klopp

There is no doubt today Liverpool done amazing job, and they were at the top from start against Manchester City but here we can talk that no one was expecting Liverpool to win this surely not right because I have been feeling many were still believing in Liverpool they have quality players, but sadly there were under some stress which was giving them negative results, but now things are change and surely Liverpool could be in better shape.
 
At the Anfield they have amazing success run against all clubs which is going to help them for fighting back into best even now chances are not good for the title race, but this positive result is going to be good for them and players which were not performing as they need to do in big matches.
