Manchester United started the 2024-2025 campaign perfectly, securing full points in front of their home fans, albeit with a narrow 1-0 victory. Ten Hag tried to get around the absence of Rasmus Hojlund by pushing Bruno Fernandes as a second striker, the experiment could not work because Fulham had a solid defense. Ten Hag decision to rotate Mason Mount with Joshua Zirkzee was the right move, Manchester United game becomes more aggressive when they have a pure striker. In my opinion, Ten Hag must be more careful in determining the starting XI in the future, so that his team no longer has difficulty winning matches.

They got 3 points which is perfect but I dont think they played perfectly in this first match of the new season as I do not see something special with their performance.
I know this is the first match but I'm worrying if they cant improve a lot, they will get something better compared to the previous season.
Bruno who was forced to be stricker could not show his best performance like when play in his original position, Rashford also not playing good although he almost make his first assist but Garnacho failed to finish the assist to be a goal.
Bruno should be placed in his original position to make the team better and Ten Haag should have other option to replace Hojlund till he come back.

I agree with you that looking at Manchester United's performance I don't think they have improved much from last season. In the previous season as well, we have seen erratic and poor performances from Manchester United. We can see the same in this season. In the first match we saw the strange formation of Manchester United. Midfielder Bruno has been made Striker in this match. He is very talented, but he is not a striker. And we haven't seen a better performance from Bruno in this match. I am very upset with all these strange decisions of Ten Hag.

Last season we saw ten Hag's strange match tactics and strange formations. This season his usage has become even more bizarre. I don't expect anything better from Manchester United this season either. At least this team will not be among the top four of the table.

I don't dare say that Man United will perform impressively in their first match in the Premier League but, one thing I see is that Man United is taking its progress quite seriously so far, and I think that can be a good foundation for them to move forward. The match against Fulham is quite crucial, not only as a means of proof of all the changes that Man United has made but, it will also have a big impact on the morale of the Man United players.

In the match against Fulham, Manchester United managed to win the match with a narrow score. This match is indeed crucial, because Manchester United almost failed to win this match. But fortunately, Zirkzee, as a new player who had just debuted in the opening match of the Premier League, was able to score the only goal that saved Manchester United. Apart from that, in this match Manchester United created many very good opportunities, but unfortunately these opportunities could not be maximized properly by the Manchester United players. Maybe Rasmus' absence in this match will have a big impact on Manchester United's front line. For the first time after a long while, I enjoyed watching Manchester United play, most of their players performed well and even Harry Maguire that makes lots of errors defensively really tried and saved Manchester United in several occasions not to talk of the new signings they all shined in their first game and have shown that they deserve wearing the shirt. What i noticed in yesterday's match is that Manchester United have developed from a poorly defensive side into a better team defensively, well we're yet to see how they'll perform against a big side, but if they maintain or even upgrade how they played yesterday, I don't think any other team would match them defensively this season. They missed several opportunities and would've scored more goals in the first half, Marcus Rashford played well but he still got lot's of improvement to do if he wants to continue being in the first team and the introduction of Zirkzee and Garnacho was the best decision made by Erik Ten Hag in that match, though Garnacho made some wrong moves but it paid off afterall, Zirkzee was class he's really 9.5 striker as said by him, but an addition of a player like Toney would give Manchester United an advantage to score more goals.

Its always hard time chasing after them, match by match, league to league. If we recall the community shield against Manchester City, it was this same hard luck that was on them. With so may tries and so many attempts in their opponent post they couldn't score more than one goals, it was even a surprise that they score one goal in the game. At the same time it was difficult for them to protect the goal from Manchester City equalizing.

Manchester United performed very faithfully here, as most of the punters were betting on Manchester United and I was one of them. Because I knew that between these two squads, Manchester United's squad is stronger and full of experienced players, although Fulham's squad was made up of eleven and experienced players, but they could not play confidently in this match. The defenders tried hard to defend but Manchester United's attacks were different. So in this new season the players of Manchester United team have performed very well and the fans of Manchester United team are calm.

I dont see any improvement yesterday. Dont you know if there were more time in the game after Manchester United scored that Fulham would equalize later on. Thats the sad truth and we all know that.

From the start of the game, both teams had the will to win, but only the better and more skilled players could win most of the matches. But Fulham team tried hard but their attacks were very weak, but Manchester United team's defense and goalkeeper were most alert.

The opening match of the Premier League was quite entertaining overall, Fulham put up a fierce fight even though they were playing away. For Manchester United, this victory is a good start after last season very disappointing performance, besides that we must give Ten Hag time to go through the adaptation period with the new season. If you look at the match statistics, Manchester United managed to dominate Fulham, both in terms of ball possession and the number of shots on target. This is just the beginning, of course there are still many improvements that Ten Hag must make in the future.

It was entertaining indeed, despite the was an away game for Fulham they played very well which I thought the game will be a game of draw but Manchester United prove me wrong towards the ending of the game.

I think this is a good start for Manchester United and will help them to boost their confidence for other games coming up. The beginning of the game Manchester United performance wasn't impressive at all, there was no difference in the performance of Rashford last season and yesterday game, no transformation but at last Manchester United succeeded in scoring a goal. That's true, because if this game tonight had ended draw, this would have been the first in 10yrs both clubs playing goal-less draw, but however, I'm happy J. Zirkzee was able to grab the opportunity to scoring it's first goal in the season at 87minutes before the end of the match, because I was already discouraged and thought the match have ended, only to my greatest surprise that it was a victory to Man-United, which is a sigh that Ten Hag do actually have a whole lot of work to come up with a workable strategy, as what happened tonight, if they are to repeat it, they will end up losing such match.

I was never discouraged because I had the believe in Gnarcho that he can score anytime as long as the game is not yet over unknown to me that it will be Zirkzee who will do the magic for United in order for them to secure three full point to start the season with. Zirkzee was able to score his first goal to Manchester united on his first appearance for the United in EPL. It is a good start for him and it shows that he is coping with United football pattern

Yes, it was indeed a good start for him scoring his first goal on his first appearance playing for the United, and not only that, but scoring when everybody have all given up hope that the match will be ending draw, as this really shows that the €42.5million spent on him to join the United was indeed a good option, as I hope he maintain this momentum for the entire 5yrs contract he will be playing with the United, as he is exactly the kind of spirit Man-United needs at the moment to stay afloat the league. So congrats to him, as he is currently the talk of the entire Man-United community worldwide.

I don't know where the over confidence is coming from where Erik ten Heg is, just because his new striker gave him the winning goal yesterday against Fulham, the whole thing is just funny. He said he spoke to Zirkzee about his style of play and he should continue with this and that, what is happening? Ten Heg shouldn't be too comfortable with Zirkzee's performance yet because this is just the first game in the EPL and I remember how Anthony Martial started with Man UTD, on his first game he scored and after some time things started changing and with time he was nowhere to be found and now the praises ten Heg is giving this guy is too much, to me I'll say give him time to adjust let him do his thing and not to be too comfortable with all you see until 5-7 games then check if he has adapted to the flow of the EPL. I'm saying this because a time would come and the player can't perform as the coach is praising him and it would be on him (Erik ten Heg) that the player is not doing well, he should take it easy and keep the excitement on the low.

If you watch the game critically, you noticed Fulham held Manchester United to a standstill as a visiting team, so I disagree with you when you said they didn't plan confidently, they actually did play with a lot of confidence. At least of persons where even thinking the game will end up to be a draw game given the way both teams where playing.

Although Manchester United would have scored more goals, as Bruno fernandes missed a lot of chances to convert, however the Fulham shot stopper was at his best last night as he was able to save some opportunities Manchester United would have scored.
For me, it was one of those games Manchester United where just lucky to win, kudos to their new signing for coming to their rescue.

 It's halftime between newly promoted side, Ipswich and Arne Slot's Liverpool and it's currently nil nil. I least expected that the scoreline will remain like this being that it's Liverpool they paired against and we know how these small clubs are like free points boost for big clubs but it's not the case in this game, if anything, Ipswich are proving to Liverpool they they've got all it takes to be in the premier league. Is it to early to start praising them? Dunno but I must admit that I'm liking what I'm seeing.
 As it is, first half wasn't in Liverpool's favor and they'd need to get their acts together if they don't want disappointing results on the road because I don't see Ipswich relenting on their sails and as it is, they are willing to come all out to get something at home for themselves and the fans.

Looking at Ipswich's appearance, it seems like they have a chance to win or draw, but statistically, Liverpool has a greater chance of winning.
From ball possession, Liverpool is much more stable and on the other hand, even though they still can't shoot on target, at least Liverpool continues to put pressure on the Ipswich defense players.
Just look at the second half that is currently underway, I am very sure and even dare to bet that Liverpool will score in the second half or at least 2 goals can be obtained by Liverpool.

I praise Ipswich a little because this club can withstand every pressure given by Liverpool who have better quality players, but the longer they last, the weaker Ipswich's defense is and the easier it is to break through.

In the first half there were nothing to highlight, Ipswich deserves some credit. But now the deadlock has broken. Jota scored and Liverpool got the goal exactly after an hour of the gameplay. We really need to level up our game.

Looking at how tough yesterday match between Fulham and Manchester United was before Manchester United won and also seeing almost same thing today in the match between Liverpool and Ipswich, it's to set a signal that the premier league is up for competitiveness this season. I like the energy of the teams that has played so far. I also like the energy of Liverpool in this game and thanks to Mohammed Salah for still continuing with the squad after some rumors came out last season about his possible move to Saudi league but he tried for still remaining in Liverpool because he is one of the strong force in the squad and for this game against Ipswich, i chose him as the man of the match.

I don't think what you are actually saying is right because Fulham have more skillful players than that of the Manchester United team. what you should be saying is the team with more confidence in the game, if you watch the match closely you will see that the team of Manchester United is more eager and confident in winning the match than the Fulham team. The goalkeeper of the Manchester United team didn't do much in the match because the Fulham team only had two short on the post so he only had to save two ball near his post. Their defense was quite impressive than that of the Fulham team, but their attack wasn't good enough because the match could have ended 3 goals to nut but Bruno missed two one on one with the keeper because there is no Hoijluind but we shouldn't blame him because his not a striker but rather a midfielder.

With the same squad they still seem to be able to work together well and here added with the role of Arne Slot makes Liverpool more different from the scenario.

Ipswich Town seems to have to be willing to lose points in their debut match as a promotion team and I hope they are not in sadness and quickly recover. It is indeed very difficult to face a strong Liverpool team which is also one of the candidates for the EPL title this season and I think this is an opening gift for Liverpool to face the next matches. Yes, a good start although I was expecting more one or two goals. Salah was clean with his goal. In the half time Liverpool was boring but in the second half we saw the quality. Arnold, Jota, Salah were good.
