It is unusual to see the odds 2.06 for City to win, I understand that it is not yet clear what to expect from Chelsea, how Maresca will be able to influence the team, but I think that the odds for City are a little overstated. So far I have only drawn conclusions from friendly matches and I have not seen anything outstanding from Chelsea there, and this is not surprising, they are only at the stage of creating a new team, not all the new players have been able to adapt, so it seems to me that City will not have a hard time coping with such a team. So much replies have been focused on Chelsea vs Manchester city fixture over the weekend and it's not one I will see as been unexpected because much was expected of Chelsea form their fans and even others who aren't fans but wanted to see what their performance will look like after all the transfer they have been engaged in.

Looking at other games in the premier league over the weekend, I got some entertainment from the Liverpool game as it appears with their new coach they are already appearing promising starting off so well, Manchester United got my attention too but in that game fullham impressed me the most, so far the season looks like it's got a lot to look forward to both around the big teams and the small teams in the premier League.

Overall judging Chelsea first match, I think they deserved to lose, but that doesn't mean Chelsea won't develop in the future. So lose they still lose because Man City is superior and Man City's defense is very solid.  now Chelsea must be motivated to work harder, it doesn't matter if they lose the first match, there are still the next matches. The Premier League is a long journey, there will always be ups and downs in performance. If I'm not mistaken, Todd Boehly left the stadium before the match ended, indicating his dissatisfaction because he had spent a lot of money to collect players. But I think it was also his own fault because he was careless in buying players but the quality of the players he bought was not at all as expected.

Well you actually can't blame anybody because this Chelsea team is one that have disappointed and put so many persons under pressure before so that's why many fans are certain that this defeat will lead to many more ahead although the fact that the first game isn't actually everything still counts because this can even a eye opener to help them boost up and make them more active in terms of winning more games and looking at the major errors in which they committed.

With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.

For me it seems like Chelsea are yet to begin the new season, with this kind of poor performance against Manchester city i wonder how they are gonna cope this season, the new coach need to put his team in order as soon as possible else he might risk loosing his job before mid season, and i think the solution to Chelsea's problems right now is for the coach to engage a rotation policy until he is able to build a formidable team that could stand up to any challenge as the season goes by but the fans and management have got to a bit patient with the players and the coach because there's alot to be done before they get running.

It is going to be another serious and hot game today as the first Monday night game between Leicester City and Tottenham which is going to be more like a welcome back match for Leicester City as they make their returns from championship, while the both teams will be doing their best from my analysis there is going to be a both teams to score and over 2.5 goals and a possibility of a draw match in this game , what do you think?

Indeed Manchester City defeated Chelsea by 2 goes to 0 to defend their title, thou Chelsea performance wasn't that bad.

After returning to the Premier League, Leicester City started the season with difficulty because they had to face Spurs. Moreover, the strength that will be played tonight is reduced, attackers J. Vardy and P. Daka are injured. The situation is not good for Leicester.
It's different with Tottenham, they are ready to face this match, and can secure 3 points at the start of the season. Spurs are favored, my prediction is 2-1 for Tottenham Hotspur's victory.

In my opinion, Chelsea's defeat was not too disappointing because it was very difficult to beat the team coached by Pep Guardiola.

I think that's why Bowley hired Maresca, he won't argue with Bowley on the club's transfers and so he's much easier to manage than the same Pochettino who has already worked at Tottenham and has a lot of experience in the EPL.

I was surprised that the dominance was equal in the match. With what Chelsea played yesterday against Manchester City, I still have hope in them. I believe something good can still come out of them, but it’s just going to take some time. I will say Chelsea lacks strikers, which is one of the things affecting them. Chelsea had chances yesterday but no good finisher to finish it for them. Enzo Maresca should have just started sterling in the match, and I don’t really like the idea of Enzo making unnecessary substitutions in the second half of the match.
 
Chelsea's next match will be against Wolves. Let’s see how they perform in the match. At least we know Wolves is not a strong team that Chelsea is suppose to find difficult to win.

Chelsea looked good and judging by the statistics were not much weaker than City, but 0-2 at home is 0-2 at home. At least now we can say that City are fine (unfortunately haha) and Chelsea are unknown. In the end, the defeat to the current champion does not mean anything. In the next round Chelsea play Wolves and this game will be decisive in relation to the whole season - if they do not win, then with 1 (in case of a draw) point after 2 rounds most likely "forever" will fall behind the top-4.

In terms of statistics, they are not too different from Manchester City, but there are several things that make them lose in this match, such as when their defense cannot read the movement without the ball from Manchester City and of course finishing is still not too good to date.
An empty 2 score where one of the goals was scored by a former player himself looks a little painful actually but indeed in this case I don't feel strange if Chelsea lost the big match this time because it is certain that Manchester City is clearly the favorite from the start.

Although Chelsea lost, at least the dominance in terms of ball possession was quite thin. Chelsea only weakness is in the front line which is not sharp while the rest is quite good, because Manchester City is considered more prepared on the field. Enzo Maresca must continue to try his best in his first season. Considering the fate of previous Chelsea coaches, they were always easily fired if they failed to satisfy Chelsea top brass. Because this is still early in the season, let's give him time to improve and choose the right players. So, is Chelsea not longer fit to compete against Manchester city again? I know it's inappropriate to judge their season with their first match but did you notice any development from yesterday's performance? Did you not see when Enzo subbed out Lavia and ignore Enzo in the game? I believe you also noticed how couch chose to play Enzo behind a striker and not any good striker but Jackson who can not decide what to do with the ball in front of opponents post. The game was not too bad and in fact, it was better than I personally expected but it was very shameful how they could not utilize their chances and how poor their couch was with substitutions. If we continue saying it is too early to judge them, things will become worse. It's better to criticize now so they ammend their ways. You can not spend that whole amount on players and expect the community to watch you play nonsense games.

In my opinion, Chelsea weakness in that match was clearly visible in their defense and attack line, Chelsea had a fairly well-organized attack through both wings, but the nothing of a target man in front of the opponent goal clearly meant that many opportunities were wasted in that match, Jackson those who were plotted as ST actually did not perform optimally, as did Enzo Fernandez who seemed to have very little contribution when plotted behind the striker in the match, apart from that, of course we can see that their defense was very bad and the two goals scored in that match actually occurred because of their lack of solid defense, many of the placements of players who are not in their main positions mean they are not playing optimally and I think Enzo Maresca needs to immediately evaluate their squad for that match if they want to achieve positive results in the next match.
