There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

The  mempool is quite busy so your transaction may not have gone thru yet.
You can check here in blockchair what's the status of your transaction

https://blockchair.com/

Get the transaction hash/btc address and enter it. You can see what is the priority of your tx
You can also check in - https://www.blockchain.com/ and enter the btc address where you sent it to.
If it is unconfirmed, then that's the reason why you are not seeing it yet.

Check the outgoing payments in your electrum wallet under the Send tab.
The last transaction that you did (right click) and Copy the address and paste it in the above sites (blockchair/blockchain) and check the status of your tx. Hope this helps.

Thank you Time Teller, it's my first time and i was stressing out thinking it would take up to 30 minutes. Would you know how long it's usually take ? if there is an issue is there any contact details for Electrum? Many thanks

They have thread here -

And the dev -

But right now, you need to wait  as many are also waiting for their transactions to go thru.
It depends on how much fee you used.
I also have btc transaction waiting for hours now as I used a lil bit of low fee as compared to others.
So the miners are prioritizing those who paid higher fees. So I can't say how long it would take for your tx to go thru.
