It depends on the location you leave to in most western countries we have seen some changes to this aspect you are talking about. But in Africa I think this will take much time and also people need to be educated about the potential and opportunities available using bitcoin and crypto in all. Then we will see much more supermarket and big companies using bitcoin as mode of transaction.

Not until LN is available and widely adopted. Just imagine spending BTC for daily purchases today - a few dollars of fee if you want your tx confirmed in next block most of the time, ~10 minute wait till your transaction confirms - how that would even work, do people have to stay in the shop until their transaction gets confirmed?

For now, if you don't want Visa and your bank knowing what kind of butter are you buying, you should stick to cash. It's better to convert your BTC to cash once a month and spend it, inflation doesn't matter on such a small scale.

I agreed with you, there is still a lot of work to be done if Bitcoin can be used as a payment method everywhere.  Transaction process and time is one of them.  I can't go to a shop and wait until my transection is complete, it's not possible.  Again there is a matter of fee and costing where bitcoin has to do a lot of development yet.

The idea is nice and interesting but not everyone is waiting for such to happen nevertheless it’s coul start from your neighborhood. It’s all about awareness and orientation, you can as well introduce or initiate the idea to the local stores supermarket in your neighborhood. The only way this scenario could become true for bitcoin is through lightning network because no one is going to pay a 3-5$ fee every time they buy something. The way i see this going down is some kind of big company creates a special token/coin to be used for this type of micro transactions(payments at supermarkets, local stores, coffee shops and others like that).

With the current state of transaction fees, adopting bitcoin as a form of payment will be really hard for small business which is basically the first entities to dictate a change in the business world. Without the lightning network's promise, we won't accept bitcoin as a payment because it will just become to unbearable in the case of taxes and fees.

The time is nigh, i supposed as major businesses and investors are moving in. This is probably the start of a major adoption, and big companies such as grayscale, Fidelity, micro strategy, square and recently have recently been buying Bitcoin allocating 1% of their portfolio into Bitcoin, and sooner or later when Institutional money comes flooding in. Here in India, I have been shopping from supermarkets using Bitcoin for the last one year. Here is how I do it:

1. I get Amazon Gift Cards in exchange for Bitcoin
2. I add the gift card to my Amazon Pay balance
3. I shop from Big Bazaar (largest super market chain in India) and make the payment using Amazon Pay.

Another method is to purchase Big Bazaar gift cards, either directly using Bitcoin, or using Amazon Pay.

Well, I hope this happens to my country also but we knew that it's kinda impossible since the volatility of cryptocurrency might affect the businesses. Some stores are already accepting digital payment, but I doubt they will accept cryptocurrency as payment if they can accept digital money, a practical way. Just wait for few years, everything will become cashless as we enter the cashless society. As of now, we see that there are merchandise that develop and integrate the e-wallet in purchasing items. Malls are also open for digital payment such as paypal and gcash. Soon, we will see a new qr code posted in cashier. All of sudden, cryptocurrency will become new ways to pay the products. We will shop without worrying how much fiat we brought. It will happen soon because internet is now everywhere.

You don't know or not but there are many supermarkets and stores that accepts Bitcoin.
Even a KFC in Canda also accepts payments through BTC.
Yes i know it's yet to be globalised to accept is a primary way of paying for bills , but still i like seeing the progress growth of the coin.
And yes if you are working online then there are many companies who pay you through Bitcoins but still not major of the companies do it.
Nevertheless let's hope for the best, and see where Bitcoins take us to the near future.

Paying with Bitcoin at supermarkets is a bad idea because confirmation times are so long, waiting makes things worse. Bitcoin is not such an instant means of payment.
We can withdraw money from Bitcoin ATMs located near supermarkets.
The use of credit or cash is better because of their reliability. After all, they are just one currency like any other. The purpose of the payment is the same. I realize that paying by credit card can help accumulate incentives. This will be an advantage over other means.

I think that Bitcoin will never become a widely used cryptocurrency. There are a lot of disadvantages, unlike other alternative cryptocurrencies. A high commission and a very long wait for the confirmation of the transfer completely kill the desire to use bitcoin.
