Pornhub now accepts Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC) as payment for its premium services. The company has been accepting Verge since 2018, later adding several other cryptocurrencies, but this is its first foray into the major leagues. Pornhub’s vice president Corey Price said in the press release:

“As a leader in adult content with over 130 million visitors per day, Pornhub is excited to now offer two widely-used and leading digital currencies for our users. Our team continues to pave the way for tech development, testing and implementing new technology for everyday consumers far ahead of the mainstream market.”

Wondering why it's just now and not two years back when they started accepting Verge.
This can represent how the adoption increases but, imo, we don't really need this kind of adoption as we know how the adult industry is made for psycho peoples who can't a normal sexual life.

Many other magazines shared this news today, and all of them have no reference but this article from cointelegraph. I have checked pornhub website and didn't find anything related.
I am not a PornHub fan so i don't have an account there, can anybody confirm that payment is really available with btc and ltc?

A recent article published by business news site, Quartz, tends to agree. The article places the industry’s value at anywhere between $6 billion and $97 billion, with the more realistic estimates ranging from $6 billion to $15 billion.

This would create demand for bitcoin and LTC, probably billions as the porn industry is a billion dollar industry and it would be very convenient for people to pay using crypto to preserve their privacy, instead of credit card where they could be expose.

Well, it's indeed nice to know. Last time, they are only accepting Verge coin. Now they are accepting btc and ltc for their premium accounts. Those subscribers and users will enjoy watching and at the same time spending bitcoin payments in an online platform.
 We can definitely see how cryptocurrency is really growing and developing. It was adopted by different aspect of fileds like this of adulthood industry. And users always wanted the convenient factor given by cryptocurrency payments especially for those who don't have credit cards to use.

They accepted Verge long time ago and it is a trial crypto adoption from them. Then after all they accepted BTC and LTC that is another good move for them. The recent crypto adoption from pornhub is a good signal that cryptocurrency gradually invade deeper in human society.

Who pays for pornhub? Aren't those just videos?? Personally i think watching porn is a huge waste of time which leads to increasing degeneracy. It really shouldn't have regular, paying customers. I don't know though if the website also serves as a pimping platform for the thousands of women there, though?? Porn industry accepting bitcoin and litecoin isn't gonna skyrocket the market of bitcoin. The industry is wide and has a net value that isn't believable. How this billion dollar market make changes to the bitcoin market need to be understood.

Global acceptance of bitcoin have increased, but this doesn't mean the net value of transactions and revenue is out of the bitcoin usage. This way porn industry has added more power to bitcoin, and that doesn't mean it pushes forward the market.

To say the truth, it was even surprising to me in the past why the porn industry never thought of accepting Bitcoin in the first place but went for Verge. Well, I am yet to see how that is going to help Bitcoin's mass adoption or even the value. I am pessimistic on this. Before anyone argues this with me; what's the value of Verge?

We cannot and shouldn't dictate who gets to use bitcoin as a currency. The thought of who should and should not accept because of the negative image it brings is kind of limiting bitcoin to a group of users don't you think? It wasn't created that way.

Lol! Porn industry has started experimenting with cryptocurrency quite a long time back. It's not only about the store of value but also about the privacy. I lot of people are not really comfortable in using their debit/credit card in purchasing their subscription because it will show on their statement. So it's really preferable for them to use cryptocurrency instead. I still remember, there was a platform called xotika.tv who had initiated such experiments with cryptocurrency!

People actually pay PornHub for their premium service(pretty much full-length videos afaik); and now that a lot of countries and states are in quarantine(hence a lot of people won't be seeing their significant others), I wouldn't be surprised if their revenues are higher.

So people who subscribe to PornHub don't need to use their credit/debit card to be their member. Using bitcoin and litecoin, they can hide their identity because the PornHub will not know who their members are. But people who subscribe to that site need to think about their ISP because some ISP will block access to porn and gambling websites.

With so many people visiting on the PornHub, it will give another promotion for bitcoin and litecoin because people will see that now they have another option to subscribe to the PornHub. It can provide more time for bitcoin and litecoin to have new people who will use bitcoin and litecoin which the porn industries promote. I think there will be another promotion from other industries that want to introduce cryptocurrency to the public.
