It obvious that higher trading volum = more liquidity. liquidity refers to the ability of a coin to be converted into cash or other coins easily. Liquidity is important for any tradeable assets including cryptocurrencies.
Unfortunately, I have obversed that most coins listed this days on certain exchanges are without volume, that is, illiquid.
It is very clear that this situation was not common found before 2019.
What could be the reasons for this abnormalities. Your thoughts.
That's the work of unqualified developers, con artists and scammers, this is why its not safe to invest money on projects that have very low volume, though few brings unexpected results but the chances are just too slim, better demanding crypto projects are better

This was not very common before 2019 indeed. The years 2017-2018 was somehow very good years for altcoins. Those were also the years when the ICO craze was still very much alive. Crypto investors were still very much excited and bullish on crypto projects that was why hundreds of millions in investments were pouring in. Upon listing of new altcoins on exchanges, volumes would almost instantly rise.

Years after however, there seems to be nothing productive that came out of it. That was one big hollow trend. The beginning of the end then followed and the trust from crypto fans and investors started to fall down. And then altcoins slowly died, one after another. Volumes were lost, developments were not seen, even project team developers were slowly exiting.

What we are seeing now is but the aftermath of this, the lost of interest and trust in altcoins.
The ICO craze worked and ended up the same way any other stock craze does: the rich and experienced end up with more money while the weak traders and FOMO hunters ended up emptying theirs.

Nothing productive came out ot the ICOs because it was just a cycle that couldn't go on forever. It was something that many knew had to stop but only few took the right actions. A ton of money has been poured in DeFis as well in the past month, how do you think this will end?

Most probably the way the ICO craze ended. This looks very temporary to me. This exaggerated hype surrounding DeFi looks almost exactly the same hype that characterized the ICO trend way back then.

And as with the ICO craze, those who are wiser will make the most out of it while it lasts but those who really believed, who became more than loyal to certain projects and tokens, will end up with tokens drained of value.

I just hope that people are learning their lessons from the ICO years. Those were not cheap lessons after all. Hundreds of millions were burned from that.

Nothing last forever mate, either ICO or IEO always take your gains and walk away, not all crypto projects are good for long term holding, within few years your invested money will shrink to penny, crypto space is all about opportunities, they don't last forever, buy low and sell high, once target is met take profit, this is the way.

These coins with low volume are most likely a shit coins.

How can you trade it on exchanges if there's no one who will buy the coin? You will be stuck on it and lose your money.

Thats why its better to stay away in this kind of coin and only support those who have high volume and good potential coin listed to a popular exchanges.

If a coin has no volume, it means it's not wanted by people.
And if it's not wanted by people, that means it has no real use, and no "hype" around it,

Having said that, if you believe in a project, a situation like this could be a good buying opportunity

There's nothing new to what the OP mentioned. If they have no to low trading volume, as you said, they are crap coins and created only for the benefit of the dev team. It is like grab cash and go. There are thousands of them, some managed to ran away with multi-million dollars, remember those ICO days. The only reason they are existing is to pocket money, nothing more.

Devs are building useless tokens of cause with no real usefulness, what do you expect? No one will buy them and such projects will keep going down in value, liquidity and volume, also some scammers build projects for pump and dump purposes, it's left for you to be careful

More trading volume means that it's much safer to invest on that coin. As well as with the volume of the exchange, the more volume the exchange has, the more attractive it is for the trader. That is why some exchanges are faking the volumes of coins on their exchange. If there is lot of volume, that most likely means that you can easily buy and sell any coins that you wanted as long as there are people who are willing to book trades on that coin on a particular pair.

It's hard to trade on low-volume coins. It's risky, so make sure that you've think of it before you proceed on engaging trades on those coins.
Those zero volume coins are sometimes considered dead because no one wants to try to invest into it.

No, a coin with no volume equals no one interested in buying these coins at a low price. A good project will never let their trading volume down. They must have the initiative to create new hype. Otherwise, the project is a trash project.
As long as they do their job well and make products on schedule, I believe their project will always receive interest from investors and the project will always have liquidity. In the exchanges in this market, and if they want the fomo price they can create many different contests

This has been happening in the crypto space for years, not sure why people are still surprised by it. Those tokens that lists on low tier exchanges are lacking the capital to pay for listing fees on high tier exchanges, so they have to make a compromise, not listing anywhere or list on some low-liquidity exchange that will list their tokes for free or for a small fee, its really a no brainer, at least they can say their token is trading, regardless the non-existing liquidity of it.

Any projects that has no good volumes are bad for investment, there is high chance that the projects won't live for long or even decline more in value, the reason why such projects never had good volume is because they have bad use case

. A good project is a project that lists in several markets but has a large real volume. too many lists on the market is not a good thing when there is no volume in it.

good coin does not need to be listed on so many exchanges but one good exchange is enough  . what important here is the volume that it gets are legit . almost fogot that exchanges arent the same. some are strict and some arent  .
But still it is better to be listed in many exchange as users don't need to go around other exchange to accumulate the coins when it is listed in their own exchange or fav exchange.
Quote
maybe listing on two or more wont hurt so that users will have an option to trade in the exchange that they are more comfortable with .
If the team is indeed concern about the users and investors?then they will list even the Good coins in many exchange.

Agree. It is convenient to have lots of exchanges. For example some users already have accounts on some exchanges, and they dont need to register on another and pass KYC if they want to trade particular altcoin. When an altcoin is listed, I usually wait when it is listed on an exchange I'm familiar with or have account already. I'm not fond of having lots of accounts on exchanges. Because sometimes you can forget where you have funds, and where not.

Answer is too simple, these coins are about to be dead as there isn't any demand for these coins in the market now but it was not like this from the start. These coins used to have a large liquid market when they were listed on these exchanges but with time they started getting oversold and interest over time declined, most probable reason would be that the developers didn't perform well and were just selling their stash to move on to another project and with time people also caught up and now the exchanges are only having the coin listed without any trading volume or demand and in some time these coins will be delisted from these exchanges.

in my opinion there is only one reason, is the altcoin project is not liked by investors and no traders like it,
and the result is volume and price dumps, it is very natural that this happens

I never thought of investing in an obscure project or a junk project, lots of coins listed on CMC, but some of them become unlucky coins that have no volume. Coins that do not have market standards or dead coins should be removed from the exchange, because of the developers have got what they want and there will never be any intention of continuing the project they left behind.

for no specific reason, they only pay to be listed. so even if their coin has no volume it won't be delisted. I find a lot of coins like this on small exchanges like LAtoken or idex. and on average those coins from failed projects.

The reason why a coin has volume is because its in demand and demand is born out of need and use case. When a project lacks use case, it becomes a pump and dump tool and when not chosen to serve in that capacity, it loses its volume. There are many more worthless altcoin than the useful ones.

that's what happened to many projects today. they only have exchanges without any clear trade. or sometimes there is manipulation from the developer. The volume is small and indeed the exchange should make it a standard for those who do not have sufficient trading volume.

if a coin or token has no trading volume on their exchange, then it is likely a dead coin. if a coin has a high trading volume, it is widely used by traders. and the fact that investors will not stick with coins that have no price developments at all, of course they prefer other coins that are more profitable.
