I have mixed feelings about it. I believe in freedom of speech, and therefore can't agree with banning of social media accounts. But at the same time, this particular account was indulging in all out fraud and identity theft. Perhaps nuking the account was the only effective way of dealing with it, and to prevent scamming of unsuspecting cryptocurrency users.
Freedom of speech as a concept only applies to governments. Private parties have a full right to kick anyone out of their platform without even explaining anything. If it wasn't so, it would be a violation of platform's freedom to choose who to deal with. Social media is not some public good, it's a business like any other.
Yeah. I bet OP is being bombarded with messages right now from those BSV folks. I doubt that they will be able to appeal this though since this is a clear violation of twitter rule under Impersonation policy. They will most likely make new twitter account or use other twitter accounts.
Still not hatemail, BSV trolls aren't really that numerous. Besides, it's not like I alone reported that account, it takes many reports to see a ban.
