So as the topic says, any promising ICO project worth checking in? (Holding most top 5 coins with BTC most in my portfolio)
But throughout time have been investing in ICO and made some profit, also lost some but still in profit. But these past year enjoying the ups and down, and as a longtime in cryptospace. I think the hype is soon starting again.

So any ICO project worth investing in? Have seen the hype around DeFI but not really liked those project still want the own coin, maybe with masternode or PoS?

Don't expect any hope in new ICO projects these days because many investors have already lost their interest to participate on every one of them, that is why there are no any new ICOs who exist today. Only those who have been running in the year of 2017 and I know some of them are successful because they are also DeFi projects and making their own Dapps.

I think its already over. But Im thinking cypherium public sale will be big. They already launched their public sale and with those huge partnetship with other big names such as IBM, I can see a good future for them.

Aside from it, I cant find a good ICO that will launched mostly defi projects that are focus on uniswap deals.

Don't surprised if you find a lot scam ICO these days, because that's very normal on ICO project... you can check on scam accusation board [1] too.

Unlikely, I think we had seen last time a good ICO to be there in 2018, I can't remember though. I would recommend you not to invest in any ICO these days as it's very hard to identify which project would be a good one. And yeah I agree that Defi is getting huge hype but it's good to not have a look on Defi as they are very risky.

ico is no longer in vogue perhaps you can try look for some good ieo project in reputable exchange but in this past few weeks, defi has taken over the market buy storm, they are high risk because 99% of them are scams, some of them just recently exit scam so you might want to be careful when looking for the right one to invest in, or now that the market is down take advantage of it and buy already existing coins.

I think better to get another option, looking a coins/token with a small-cap but a good development until now. This is non-financial advice, maybe you can try to see X-CASH one of my portfolios without any ICO they can survive and the price on normal situation always on 30-40 Litetoshi when the rally comes the price on range 60-120 Litetoshi.

Yeah I see now ICO is gone even I see new projects coming up with the current trend DeFi which still continues as a mainstay for new projects to make money.
ICOs are no longer in demand, even investors consider it a scam for projects that raise funds with ICOs.

I believe this has a limit and in the future there will be new names and trends so I think it will be repeated with new names.

If you've been here since 2013 and have been an investor in many ICOs over the years, I don't think you're the one having a hard time finding potential projects. You don't need to ask us because your experience and knowledge about various projects is quite a lot and is capital for an investor.

Even so, if you find it difficult to find it, then dont force the desire to invest in a project that you think doesnt have good potential because it could be that your fund will stagnate and even lose. I think the future of ICOs is still uncertain as investor find it increasingly difficult to find which project are truly good and potentially profitable. It is a good idea to invest in old coin and do not expect uncertain thrill.

Hardly will you find a good ICO now, what is in vogue is the IEO and you need to pay attention to this, I saw how Binance is trying to be creative with this with the launch of their launchpool, if this become success then expect some of these big exchange to follow suit, it is very easy to copy and good model these days

I would suggest you to be with the prominent coins like eth or ada etc.
Because all the new projects including icos, ieos or defi projects are too risky at this moment and they have yet to deliver so i try to stay away from all such high risk projects.

I would say that if you are getting into crypto talk just now after 7 years, I wouldn't suggest starting from ICO world, first stop would be the big heads and if you have a lot of them already and you do not mind losing a few hundred bucks that is exactly when you should get into ICO world.

It is really a cesspool of horrible stuff there, almost all ICO's are horrible, 99% of them do not give you any returns and that 1% is filled with ones that stay around its starting level and only like a diamond in the rough, one in a million just happens to be a good one. That is why I really do not suggest ICO investment to anyone, sure sometimes it feels right but in reality they are not good at all and they are not profitable, it will not help you out at all in the end.

Investors know that ICO is not safe but we need a similar platform, there have been different format this year without the traditional initial exchange offering. DIA had some different that was successful but the strategy now is the management of token, from the teams to whales. The allocation to teams really need to reduced it is not safe for investments that allow staking for long period

You should know what's going on with the ICO market already.

Even IEO or DeFi is not a safe and secure investment. Right now, it is better to invest in established projects like ETH. But as the OP stated, he's been lurking around long time here but haven't created account. So he should know already which one is best for him. Maybe just asking for inputs from everyone what they are thinking right now in the ICO market. ICO has already lost its glory in the market. And soon IEO and DeFi as well. Don't follow the hype, but real projects with active use cases.

Currently, 90% of ICO projects are SCAMs and 10% will fail. The hype on the ICO project will not repeat itself. Even IEO that has been confirmed to enter the stock exchange is not fully effective. Sometimes I find the extremely low volume and even no movement in value on the IEO coin chart. Better to buy coins that are in the top 10 of CMC

It is very unfortunate that these coming projects mostly/majority are worthless. Investing these projects it is likely we are feeding these scammers. Just like many others say, FORGET about ICO/IEO, their time is already passed by and we are about to face the Defi system. However, it won't make things great at all. Still, we are flooded by fake projects and not this Defi system will help us out and turns back the good looking crypto image.

I know some good IEO , starts on 10 Sep, called Stafi , on Bitmax.io , there would be an auction and you can buy a mall bag if you get lucky enough but I'm pretty sure $fis token gets some hype and you would see it fly after listing, good luck!

Well almost all of the ICO is only good for giving a promise . I suggest to forget investing in ICO and look for the project that already running long time ago and have good reputation to investors already we have many altcoins in the market . even how good they promise they are its only less chances that you will earn with investing in any ICO .

Why ask for an ICO project? It is not that profitable now and most of the ICO are fake or scam. I doubt you can get a good answer in this section though this is the right section to discuss about altcoins. If I were you OP invest directly in bitcoin and earn or loss(two way output of cryptocurrency investment) but if still if you wanted an ICO then you have higher chances of losing your money. But if you will just going to join bounty campaign, I doubt ICO projects are worth it for your time and money or resources to be wasted.

Since I have crypto to spare, I want to invest 2-3% of my overall stash in new project. I know that it is risky but even if I may hit 1 promising new coin/token project it may be worth it.

Unilend, The developer is the same as who has been working for matic.network
Ramp protocol, This project is also having binance as a strategic partnership
Cere protocol, This project has a lot of venture capital that have invested in.

I myself don't really like investing in a project, because if I choose the wrong project then losses are in sight, I myself am more interested in investing in coins that have good prospects for future investments such as ETH, BNB, etc. even though the profits are not too big like  investment in ICO

Yes, the era of ICOs is over, investors are no longer interested in ICO projects. In the future I think ICOs will disappear from the market.

I do believe that there is a cool projects out there that is looking like they are working to actually make it big, but the ones that has good ideas do not have the marketing and the ones that has the marketing do not have the ideas.

Mostly are defi projects. There was a recent project but just like OP many investors missed to invest to it because it wasnt hyped so much while its still on the ICO. Name of the project is POOLZ. It might just be what OP is looking for because as holder, you can also stake the token.

Projects today are mostly just listed on Uniswap,mitsmeasy to just do it there and it gives chance for users to earn through liquidity.

Few projects started their journey on uniswap and became fully successful later, just because a project get listed on Uniswap doesn't mean it should be underestimated, I still remember YOUC in 2020, it delivers unexpectedly even when it was listed on very low exchanges including uniswap

dont forget that most defi platforms have no working application in the market. if you will noticed, a lot of them are in beta stage. i dont think they will ever get out of beta. so that's my issue with DeFis, only few platforms have working application. a lot of them are merely manipulated in uniswap. i am sure most of these defi tokens will die very soon. once the hype is over, we will see that one by one, those defi projects will exit from the stage.
wont suggest any project, whether defi or ieo or ico, it is the responsibility of the investor to check the potential of those projects.

The ERA for defi already ended and most of the new icos were coming with the new idea to create the protocol or various interesting idea like cross-blockchain platform combined with various features.
DEFI is not a good idea again at this moment. Polkadot was not a defi but it's a protocol project.
It was developing the smartcontract to be used by the new projects.

That's too quick to judge, I've regretted my decision by judging few DeFi projects in 2020 and today they have get out of beta stage already and add more listings, it's not really about the DeFi part itself but it's all about what type of team are handling the project

People don't want to take responsibility, waste time studying this or that project. Rely on someone else's experience, and then complain about the scam. Nobody will give you one hundred percent guarantees by investing money in any coin, you will get a big profit. Currently the most promising are Bitcoin and Ethereum and several other top coins. This is what you should be guided by.

If you are after with big potential project you needed to spare your time sorting for a good one, there's no way that relying with someone's

opinion will guide you to find good project to invest your money, some may be true or maybe part of  pump and dump project but it takes

a big risk following other prediction instead of following your own  judgement.

There are a lot of them, though they might not still be new, but they still have the potentials for growth.
So you should invest in them. Even Bitcoin and Ethereum that you said you have invested in, they all have the potential to grow in the future.

Judging from the time you made this post, which was September, if your money has been there around then till now , I believe you have seen the bull run and have gotten some profit. Uniswap is one of the top Defi, and it’s still growing; when I checked today it was around $8+.
