I also use Bitcoin Core, as it is the wallet where you will have the most control for self-custody. I don't use any other wallet, not even a mobile one nowadays, with the exception of hardware wallets.

I assume that you utilize HWI to pare your hardware wallets with Bitcoin Core which ^{in my view} is not so convenient when comparing with setup used by me.  

My Bitcoin Core serves as a node for Sparrow client to which my Passport 2 is paired.

For air-gapped wallets, Sparrow is better.

Why do you think so?

It offers better support for most popular airgapped hardware wallets. Sparrow wallet allows you to scan QR codes of PSBTs and seedQRs from wallets like Jade. Electrum lacks this functionality. If you want to use Electrum with an airgapped hardware wallet, you will have to import/export transactions as files on SD cards, for example. Sparrow makes that part easier, but I am not fully satisfied how the seedQR scanning works on computers. I am sure it's better if you have a USD connected camera, though.

This is very useful feature in wallets, and it's interesting that Craig Raw, creator of Sparrow Wallet, was the first one to propose this bip.
If I am not mistaken someone already wrote about Bip329 in bitcointalk forum, but I can't remember in what topic exactly.
Other wallets are also supporting Bip329, Nunchuk is one of them, and you can find more information about that on github and website posted below:

It's under "Setting->Export...->Label", clicking on "Details..." will reveal this message:


However, 'Import' is quite misleading IMO since it's under "File->Import Wallet..." menu.
It works nonetheless.

If I am not mistaken someone already wrote about Bip329 in bitcointalk forum, but I can't remember in what topic exactly.

I tried searching for it, but there isn't much aside from a few mentions of BIP329 in this thread. Interestingly, there seems to be a software wallet (probably a fork of Sparrow Wallet) called Sparrow-GRS that implemented the BIP329 standard back in December 2023. It's a wallet that works with the altcoin, Groestlcoin. Other than that, I couldn't find any other mentions.

I only previously tested BIP329 in Sparrow since I have wallets on it with labels on its transactions.
Now, I tried to import/export it across Nunchuck and Sparrow and it worked. Cross-compatibility should be expected when there's a "standard" for a feature.

Export works, the file name extension of the label backup is ".jsonl" from Sparrow, ".json" from Nunchuck.

Import works as well if it's restored to a wallet created from the same seed/master private key.
But for some reason, Sparrow's export can't be imported to a watch-only version of the original wallet, Nunchuck's export works on watch-only wallet.

Making something a standard as BIP proposal helps a lot, and I hope to see Electrum and other software and hardware wallets adding support for BIP-329 soon.

Electrum and Sparrow must be the most commonly used wallets for PCs and, I guess Bluewallet must be the most common for mobile devices.
As far as Nunchuk is concernet, I think it's not widespread.

Nothing, the labels just wont apply after importing the BIP329 labels from its non-watch-only wallet version.
If I exported the labels from Nunchuck wallet with the same seed, it can be imported to that watch-only Sparrow wallet.

Aside from the difference in the file name extension, the contents are slightly different:

I hope this will be fixed in some later version of Sparrow. Doesn't make much sense to me, that Sparrow won't import a label export from its own full wallet to a watch-only version.

Maybe the following workaround actually works: export labels from full Sparrow wallet; import labels into a Nunchuk wallet based on same seed; export labels from Nunchuk and import those into a watch-only Sparrow wallet. I'm not entirely serious as exposing the seed to different wallet and devices isn't a very safe approach.

I think it is legit since SparrowWallet did tweet about it twice. I assume they wouldn't do that if it wasn't the case.
