Hello guys,

I have googled it but I can am struggeling find a solution to my problem.

I can not open my wallet.
I get the following error:

Wallet loading failed: Prune (Kürzung): Die letzte Synchronisation der Wallet liegt vor gekürzten (gelöschten) Blöcken. Es ist ein -reindex
(erneuter Download der gesamten Blockchain im Fall eines gekürzten Knotens) notwendig.

However I have no idea how to do that.
Unfortuently I have no backup of my wallet.

Is there a step to step guide (for total beginner) how to redownload the blocks and reopen my wallet?

Thank you VERY much for help!

Best,
tiggar

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

My german is a bit rusty, but i think the error message already tells you what to do...

stop the wallet, start it from the commandline with the "-reindex" option.

If you're running a pruned node, expect having to wait hours/days.

by the way, this error seems like an error from bitcoin core, to make a backup of your wallet, just copy your wallet.dat Smiley. By default, the wallet.dat can be found here => https://en.bitcoinwiki.org/wiki/Data_directory (this path can be changed by editing your bitcoin.conf or starting your wallet with extra parameters).

Mate, make sure you make a backup of your wallet.dat before taking any actions.
Location will be: C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin\wallet.dat

Good Luck.

The first thing you should do is:

Mate, make sure you make a backup of your wallet.dat before taking any actions.
Location will be: C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin\wallet.dat

Never do anything without a backup. Actually i wonder why you are operating without having any backup. That's common knowledge.

Secondly, after creating a backup on a different storage medium, that's not a problem of your wallet file itself.
Unfortunately, since you are running a pruned node, you need to redownload the whole blockchain.

Just do -reindex as recommended.

Guys you are awesome thanks for the quick help!

I understood that I have to do -reindex.
But I do not know how.

If I type it inside the console it says: "Method not found"

How do I start this process?

Backing up my Wallet is no longer an option because I cant open it.
I never changed the system or did anything "wrong". I just did use my PC for 1-2 weeks and could not access my wallet any longer.

You don't need to open the gui to make a backup. Just open your file explorer and browse to the directory posted above, copy wallet.dat to a usb drive or something.

As for what you have to do to reindex: open a terminal (cmd), cd to the path where the bitcoin-qt binary can be found, execute the binary from the terminal, but add the -reindex option.

A second opinion would be to create a shortcut to bitcoin-qt, edit the shortcut and add -reindex.

If this sounds like gibberish to you, just tell us which operating system you're using, and I'll provide you with some screenshots when I get back at the office tomorrow morning

Never do anything without a backup.
Please read the quote again:

Mate, make sure you make a backup of your wallet.dat before taking any actions.
Location will be: C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin\wallet.dat

Your wallet (storage of your keys) can still be backed up, since it basically is a file on your computer.
Just copy the wallet.dat file in the above path to a save location (preferably not only on your pc).

I understood that I have to do -reindex.
But I do not know how.

I guess the easiest option is option #2 mentioned by mocacinno.

Based on your question, i assume you are using windows.
Right click on the shortcut -> properties -> add " -reindex" (with a leading space, without the quotes) in the "target" field at the end.

You want it to look like:
Code:
"C:\Path\to\bitcoin\core" -reindex

Obviously the path itself will be different on your system.

Delete the shortcut after doing the reindex. If you launch Bitcoin Core using the shortcut with -reindex flag, the client would undergo another long reindex.

Even if you do 100% synchronization first, there is a solution that you should go to the user section of your pc where the wallet is installed.
But you will get a .dat file, you copy that file, after that you install the wallet again, delete the new .dat file and replace the old .dat file in it, then restart your pc after that 100 % Synchronize your wallet
