'(Each time you make a new receive address in your wallet, you need to do another backup, since there's a new private key for your new address.  (At least I'm pretty sure that's how it works, right?))'

I was about to ask this question. Could we please please clarify this?

m

NEW address = NEW private key = need to backup again

used logic/common sense, but it be nice for a dev.level "expert" to speak on this point just in case logic is fuzzy with regards to priv.keys.

@Edgar still hoping there's a recovery tool that will work for you!

Thx bud!

its been a mental internal rollercoaster of shock, fear, hope, excitement & disappointment.. waves and waves of it for days.

but the euphoria is waning, reality is setting in and im feeling somewhat defeated by myself/windows

3,801 UNO

2,000 LTC

30,000 IXC

I'm so bummed for you, Edgar.  I still hold out hope that there is a person / company / tool out there somewhere that can help. Even recovering part of the private key from a file fragment could hold some possibilities.

Interestingly, you may posses the first UNO Rai stone. There's no doubt to any of us  that the wallet is yours.

Edgar I don't even want to imagine how you must feel. So sorry to hear you haven't been able to recover anything so far.

I think at this point your only hope is a data recovery expert, maybe they have some tools up their sleeves we don't know about. I've read reports of data being recovered that was in fact overwritten several times, or the HDD previously physically broken, burned or worse. Some of those tools are proprietary and not even for public sale. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I will double check my own backups are still intact and up to date next.

@ data recovery: the guy I mentioned -- here in Oz -- would surely be mentioned.

@ Balu2: will read it carefully. First Thought:

ad hominem, the classical fallacy of logic whereby you confuse the person with the thing. If Uno is a great coin brought to you by Satan and his minions . . . Uno is a great coin.

Hey guys!
Just wanted to stop in and say go UNO!

But on a serious note:
I think the UNO community should let Bryce Weiner go. Its just my opinion. I know many like what he has done but I do not. I haven't bought into his coins thank heavens, but I just don't think having him around is best for UNO imho.  I really think he tarnishes the UNO brand.
What you guys think?

Hmmm, i think anyone who takes anyone's advice on cryptos and doesn't research and get involved with their potential purchases, shouldn't be spending their money here.

What sucks is having scandal indirectly tied to the community by association. I think we are all pretty decent people in here. I doubt it will tarnish anything though. Does Unobtanium tarnish?! I think NOT!!

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

@ DRK for Uno? Yes, B.N., I am up for it.

And Always-a-bit-behind-the-curve guy asks, 'What brought on the B.W. thang? Is there some drama goin' on?

same as everyone: no info on what exactly happend at blocktech to make Bryce leave.
Razor would still be on track if Bryce would not have left there.
I think it comes down to some kind of childish animosity (no other explanation for the fact there is no info presented anywhere what the problem was).

Bryce is no humble character, we know that. He enjoys picking fights with people on twitter. Now his downfall.
A coin dev has to be somewhat humble and behind the scenes to be a success (look at Blazr2, he's doing it right). Bryce wasn't that guy. Too big ego attracts enemies. Not good for his own projects.

I can remember recent messages here and tweets dumping on BW for not doing more to promote Uno.
Weren't some people upset that he called the last big rise a "pump?"

Interesting how that worked out.

I sense that people want to have the discussion anyway. It should be an unmoderated discussion.

Lets talk about it here, instead of the main thread:

Should Bryce Weiner Remain a Dev of UNO?

UNO don't pump!

not yet.
Bobsurplus, known whale announced to buy Uno

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=854092.msg9502408#msg9502408

not sure if serious. If he is, he's likely going to want to buy some more.
Whether he dumps it later remains to be seen in case he comes in.

Right now we wait for the fud to pass. All in all Uno is primed for a pump and could fall victim to a pump-group at any point in time. It hasn't happened so far but uno could attract some serious pump-action in the near future. Just wait for the fud to fade out.

I am hodling for sure.  Smiley

coaex.com

didn't know that. They accept Uno too. Nice!

@IMZ

'ad hominem', had to google that. False arguments, correct. Applies currently to the BW-situation.
