Ok, guys.  V500 has encouraged me to manage The Blue Crypto Award project, myself, and I've already worked out the tentative details to a point I think I can handle it, although it is quite a bit of work.  V500 has volunteered to work the PR stuff, which would be a tremendous help!

Do I have the community's blessing to go ahead with this project?   I want this to represent the Unobtanium community well.

We are considering looking to find inventors and innovators who have made progress contributing to Humanity and our collective evolution as nominees.  I would like to be able to handle 100+ nominees, with most-voted-for (in 0.1 UNO votes) moving to the top of a website.

V500 wants to focus on younger inventors, but I'm thinking to keep it open to really all ages.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea! Thanks for organizing it and putting up the funds (not small change, either). Let's see how it goes.

@ Blue Crypto: have both a major open section and a Young Inventors.section. People always do better work on things they are more interested in. Benefactor organises Open; V500, Young Inventors.

@ in-house exchange: my tineeeee budget is committed to another project, but let's manage some 'X-WIPping' very soon.

(I'll explain how to X-wip and P-wip. Wa ha ha -- IMZ bin doin' it for ages.)

We've already concluded it might be best if there wouldn't even be a 2nd place or 3rd place prize, just winner-take-all.  (This year)  We will just focus on a single prize, a single contest.  This will also help to reduce the webmaster workload.  Speaking of which....

Neither V500 nor I know how to run a website as webmaster.  We really, really, really need someone to volunteer to make a website for this project and update it until the award is given on October 18th.

I would be taking nominee info, summarizing it, assigning an UNO voting address, and forwarding this data to the webmaster.  The website is simple (I think).  Just the list with a summary of each nominee, the associated UNO address, and then preferably self-updating with the most-voted-for nominees up top.  I would probably feed new nominees to the webmaster almost daily.

We would start a new thread on bitcointalk, here, for the project, and nominees could be suggested on there, although don't wait - suggest away!!!  (I'm looking for 10 nominees up front to feed data to our currently-absent webmaster, and only have 1 so far.)

Please HELP to find us a webmaster who can host this project.

GOX II?

I want successful markets on all of our exchanges. I have always worked to promote all of Un's exchanges, and to helped make markets.
But it is getting more and more difficult when I can't withdraw my Uno (Cryptsy) or deposit  my Uno (MintPal).  These Cryptsy problems have been going on way too long now. They've been a wonderful exchange for Un for nearly a year, but I am growing concerned about their inability to resolve these withdrawal issues. In this Post-Gox/ Post-Coinex cryptoeconomy, I understand any paranoia.

Bittrex just keeps looking better and better.

By the way, there is Un at Allcrypt again.

Mark

This is looking like a smart idea.  I am willing to tolerate paying trade fees to popular exchanges, but I expect some level of service.  Like delivery.

In the long run @ in-house-ex is a very smart idea for any rare+valuable coins.  The Republic of Un can lead the way, maybe some other coins will come to play.

Bittr ex (Las Vegas?) yes their coin catalog is starting to seem well thought out and geared for a blocktech future Wink

But currently not a fan because they are quick to kill non-volume coins.
[If you want me to invest in an asset best keep it trade able even when it's down]

well I foresee this ..

"You want a successful market? Best have Uno on the list"

last.  every one is getting slaughtered.  even the big boys.
How long until more traders start to notice the Un ability to 'weather the storms'?

I am hearing lots of this lately, and not just for UNO.

Know people who have sent 5+ support requests over multiple days and have not received any response from Cryptsy.

had to pull my buysupport on cryptsy, sorry. Not buying coins like that. Also withdrawing my other coins. Will maybe come back after my withdrawals are processed. I don't mind mintpal 200 confirms so much since withdrawals on all coins have been going smooth almost all the time there for me. Bittrex is fine too. Allcrypt can have a shot and coinbroker.io too. I'd expect at least an answer to my question what their issue is and when they think it'll be resolved but since i don't even get that another exchange will have buisiness with me.

no arbitrage possible = prices are not real

Hey guys!

I'm about to do my part to make UNO a little bit more rare. I just opened up a Bittrex account after reading about the problems people are having with Cryptsy.  I'm just waiting for my BTC deposit to confirm.  Whatever I take off the market is not coming back for years (more likely decades). Go UNO! Smiley

+1
there will be a point when Uno can't be traded this low anymore - because the supply runs totally dry. That's actually now. You'll be able to see these markets run dry over the next months. It doesn't even necessarily take much buysupport for it to rise since supply is shrinking rapidly. There is more than just 2 or 3 people buying this up for the long, long term. This is going to be a pleasure to trade later on in the 30$ to 80$ range. There will be some walls of profittakers on the way up but ultimately those will all be crunched down. The time to buy these coins is now. Won't go much lower. This is still rockbottom-prices.

i am predicting coins at cryptsy will soon be at a discount. Not sure if other exchanges want to move down with them. Probably not. Makes only sense to trade cryptsy lower since the buyer takes a risk and buys coins that are stuck indefinately and buying on cryptsy is higher emotional stress so there should be naturally a discount. It's actually already the case.

what irritates  me is: they let you deposit - so it's not a wallet-issue.
Either someone is high on drugs and doesn't give a flying about it, they lost the privatekeys or they are about to do the runner. One of those three. Other possibilities? I would guess that they probably couldn't care less and they think it doesn't matter and will be fine to get it done much later because, you know who wants to withdraw anyways?

i was reading reddit. Viacoin and reddcoin also experience same issues.

update:
now support tells me to cancel the confirmed and pending withdrawals. Sure, but how? WTF?

here what WDC is currently experiencing:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2drcov/cryptsy_stole_wdc_from_scryptguild/

understaffed or overdrugged or both.

if you read this cryptsy, sorry for being an ass but really crypto is advertised as frictionless and instant which it really is not at cryptsy.

so support told me to cancel withdrawals and i asked "how?" then they write back if i want to cancel - i write i want to withdraw.. They cancel and now i withdraw again and back in limbo. I'll keep you updated. We are on day 4 with withdrawing the coins now.
Status: reiniciated - "pending" now.

update: was canceled again.
Initiated again. Support tells me he will monitor the withdrawing.

I haven't tried to withdraw UNO from Cryptsy; but have had repeated weirdnesses with logging in.

When I am post-noobie, I'd like to spark a serious theoretical discussion about in-community trading versus the automated exchanges. There are many aspects to consider: risk, volume, facilitation of merchant-network development. IndiaMikeZulu is big on the idea of figurin' out how to balance the elements.
