Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

If you haven’t already I would recommend sharing  this auction on Twitter/ Reddit / Instagram etc. Obviously selling a graded 1000k Cas doesn’t happen every day and normally non-collectors would show up /sign up for.  I’ve seen a lot of people express how badly they want one of these or just any Cas for that matter in those types of outlets/threads but have no clue how to locate one. Would definitely create buzz that would  be good for the auction and good for the collectibles sub’s growth.

Best of luck with the sale jack.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m one of those people that just discovered this forum and that ChiBitCTy described as looking for a number of these items.

Good luck with the auction.

It's my fault. I wrongly thought that this was a peeled coin, so I bidded. Now I quit, sorry for bother,  pals.

I had to ask Charlie on this also, he says there is a 2FA pw he will dig up but he’s confident there are no signed messages.

Interestingly, almost everyone that bought this 2fa gold cas from me did not ask me for the address or the passphrase. This item is much more a collectible than a physical Bitcoin. So no reason to know or even care what the address or passphrase is. It's not like someone is going to fund it or redeem the coins.

I agree with you sole heartedly. This 1,000 BTC CAS coin is one of the most sought after crypto coins ever. There are about 15 coins of 3 different kinds of this denomination including prototype I think but I may be wrong. I am so excited to see this coin on the auction and this is my first time seeing this coin on the auction.  This coin and the very first day issue of CAS coins are my most favorite of all. Even I cannot participate this action because it is outside of my range but I definitely enjoy watching the auction. Thanks, Rainbowsky.

The mintage is slightly higher. If I'm not mistaken Coblee bought 20 unfunded 1,000 BTC Casascius coins directly from Mike Caldwell. 5 loaded coins have been sold, of which 3 are still active, and there was 1 prototype coin.

Fun fact: These coins cost $5,000 (1 oz gold spot + $200 + 1000 BTC) during its launch.

I was curious what the original cost at launch was. Thanks for sharing. Why was gold spot included? I’m assuming you mean 1oz spot price.
