We have a dog, indeed it is a perfect guard. There are many people who afraid of dogs, especially of the big ones. So, if we walk on the street half of the people walk away from us. Nobody wants to contact a pitbull and touch him like a cute small dog of miniature breed. Most likely, if a passerby needs to ask something, he will not come to us, but he will ask for help from someone who is without a dog or with a small one. Besides the fact that my dog is drooling all the time. We monitor his hygiene, brush his teeth and use the special dog's best dental water additive, but anyway his slobber causes disgust to passers-by.

Please let me know if you can think of any other interesting ones...

A parrot can do a fairly good job for security by screaming, Talking or shouting if he notices any sort of unexplained movement within the territory of its owner.

How about a monkey? I've heard from an old friend of mine that they've used to have pet monkey that's always on the entrance of their house.

A parrot can do a fairly good job for security buying screaming, Talking or shouting if he notices any sort of unexplained movement within the territory of its owner.
This as well.

My neighbor has parrots near their door.

Guard Hyena ?  Grin

I Have watched in Youtube recently how some people are petting this wild animal so this can be also a Good House Guard like a dog?

Something wild but i think it can be if proper teaching and timing.

Pets used to guard property, but now they guard our hearts <3

Also, goats are known to lead sheep herds.

We have a dog, indeed it is a perfect quarter. There are many people who afraid of dogs, especially of the big ones. So, if we walk on the street half of the people bypass us. There is no such thing as someone coming up to us and asking "who is this cute dog". LOL. Most likely "what is the time?" people will ask not me, but a person without a dog. To tell the truth, there appeared some problems with my dog and he became too slobbering. Besides the fact that it is big, this process causes disgust and passers-by. I ordered him a dog's best dental water additive, but I see that the unpleasant smell disappeared, but drooling continues as long as it stands out.
Thank you for response. Is this the cheapest option that we can find around?

I know that ravens are used to guard some areas from other birds. I also know that many people use eagles for this purpose.

What about guard birds? They can be very loud as well and if you have them in cages all around your property there should be come decent security. I think for guard animals it's all about being easily awake and being loud to alarm you. Also while dogs or cats will need a lot of training, for birds you probably don't need any. And the costs for birds is lower than for dogs.

for Guard against other bird ? for what reason ? in farm ? of for what basis that they are guarding against some birds?

What if there is much larger birds than Raven ? it may Kill them before they can protect what they are being assigned .

Probably how you could consider using "Praying Mantis" to control insects/pest. I prefer things like that than using synthetic pesticides in Farms. I imagine you could have many of them in a farm to feed only on insects while the plants grow.
The ravens could be trained to guard against larger birds, in my opinion.

Geese are very commonly used as guard birds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guard_goose
Not only are they very very noisy when disturbed but can also be rather aggressive in holding their ground against threats. Just how aggressive? Many times in reports of goose attacks they are referred to as "spitting, hissing, biting attack missiles"

I believe that the most effective pets to defend a property, especially if you have large spaces, a courtyard or a fenced area, are dogs and especially rottweilers

Having a lion or a tiger would be a great pet to guard a property. But having those kind of animals to pet comes with great risks and responsibility. But they will be a great guard to your property, literally.

For some reason my family once got a white lion cub, someone lied to my mom saying it was some sort of dog and was getting rid of it, but we found out later this was no dog. It was given to another person who then gave it to a Zoo as it started getting bigger and ate a whole lot of meat.

Its fun and games when its little, but you don't want that thing when it grows... I cannot imagine where it came from, they are not native in my country or continent for that matter...

Stop the clock. Your mom thought a lion cub was a dog? No disrespect, but that's a pretty legendary oversight on her part.

This is my latest research project, and I'm looking at some of the more common pets that are used to guard houses, and other property. So far I have found -

Guard dogs - these are the obvious pets, and have been used almost as long as man has been around.
Guard donkeys - these are great for guarding flocks of sheep
Guard cats - a bit of a stretch this one,but cats are territorial.
Guard llamas - great for protecting goat herds.
Guard geese - often used to look after chickens. They kick up a hell of a noise when disturbed, and keep the grass short.
Guard snake - I had to include this, as Harrods used a cobra to guard a £65,000 pair of shoes.

Please let me know if you can think of any other interesting ones, or feel free to comment on the ones I have mentioned.

Dogs work best for protecting your property. They have natural instincts to protect the den and the family.
My friend has a farm and their guard dog is super loyal and gives notice if anyone is coming near the property. There are a lot of different breeds to choose from.
If you’re looking for just a loud alarm you can go for a smaller dog like a dachshund but if you want a proper guard that will attack I recommend something bigger like a German Shepard.

Very interesting. I think German Sherpard is used to guard property. Some other pets also used to guard property. You can also research by
