Merit is something that should not be sold under any circumstances. Especially from scammer accounts, where there is a risk not to see your money at all.

After make a short visit to his trust page i found that already he got tagged due to selling fake wallet in the past and here is the proof, https://archive.li/t1p4l.

Most probably after getting unsuccessful with the idea of fake wallet on few month earlier now he is trying to take another money stealing attempt. Without few fools i believe who have minimum knowledge about current merit system will not gonna spend a single cent from their end.

I can't read Russian, and so don't understand the reference link for the flag.  Nor do I necessarily think that because someone is selling merits necessarily means that a person is at risk of losing money by dealing with him.  I think merit selling is a terrible practice, and I've tagged this moron for doing (or attempting to do) so--but I'm not supporting the flag.  

Nor am I opposing it, though.  I just think it's a little much; but good job spotting and creating this thread.

The guy probably is a complete scumbag scammer.  However, the flag is specific to the merit selling thread he created and I wouldn't make a judgement about trustworthiness based on an instance of offering merit for sale--and that's a general rule I personally follow.

buying merits is actually buying reputation. If the user has a fake reputation, there is a greater possibility of deceiving other members here. Of course, in the end, it usually ends in losing money. Merit seller here is not directly involved in fraud, but it is certainly a mediator in all.
Usually, we denote members who are promoting scam services, exchanges, ICO's etc... although they are only intermediaries in all.

however, I do not think we are doing any harm to the seller. Flag or just neg tag does not go directly to the profile that will send the merit.

Your second statement is true, but I disagree with the first.  Merit has never been a yardstick for any member's reputation when it comes to doing deals in which there's a possibility getting scammed.  The only "reputation" gained by having more merits is maybe the reputation of being a good poster, but that's about it.  Possibly by obtaining a higher rank with bought merits, that might give the uninitiated the impression that the member could be more trustworthy--but I don't think the effect is all that significant. 

I think this guy deserves some red tagging for the merit sales, but not a flag.  That's stretching it IMO.  But it's just my opinion, and you're obviously free to disagree.

Merit can't be a yardstick; cause as it is even scammers who were hero and above got loads of merits right at the beginning; so anyone who knows it here understands that merit means jackshit; infact even trust means jackshit... so simply look up the trust page for any economic issues or flags and not disagreements.

Merit can never be defined or compared with reputation in my opinion. Having merit requires good knowledge and effort, a hacker also have the knowledge, so that does not make him trustworthy. Although it is true that some of our forum member mess this and others have to suffer. For example, theyoungmillionaire.
I agree with The Pharmacist that a negative tag would be great, which I'm leaving now but neither supporting nor opposing the flag.

And if you look at the last posts about finding merit sellers, they are all with flags, it is normal practice. It is easier for the Russian user to understand why a merit seller has a flag with a warning about the loss of money. Because many russian users know about the existence of telegram channels, where ads about the sale of merit are constantly appearing. And there is also a lot of fraud, every second advertisement about the sale is to the bench, so here you just need a flag, because the sale of merit is the most common way to cheat in Russian language telegram channels.

In the telegram channel it becomes commonplace for many fraudulent advertisements including the sale of services, I remember when a merit system was implemented in this forum where many of their sales were for promotion even though it was clear that prohibiting the sale of merit in this forum was not allowed and most likely they also have account a lot to sell with 300 merit, hmm a little bit I might make money from selling merit.

Supported the flag, the issue is there is nothing to stop these people. I was told there is a website with loads of people selling merits for bitcointalk. I can’t remember it now but there is a market for this kind of thing.

Supporting the flags, because I believe this is just a scam attempt. He even doesn't own enough merits that are offering for sale. I suspect he will just get funds from merit buyers and skip with it. Both parties guilty is the same here who want to buy and sell as well. Honestly, it has been a long time not seeing merits sales or abuse thread. There is the possibility that someone else behind that merit sales, but very low chances, and still believe it's just a scam attempt.

Yes, there are multiple platforms where offering merit sales, I have created multiple threads regarding those issues. Just avoid them, because the account would be tagged if in case caught in merit buy
