Disclaimer: This information is subjective to the individual, the experience as a bounty hunter depends on how lucky you are and the project you are/were privilege to promote.
This is no way to encourage others to participate in bounty, the forum is a place of discussion and learning not earning. It's just an added advantage for making the forum lively and creating meaningful post

INTRODUCTION

You must have found yourself on Bitcointalk faceless forum either through a friend, Google search, freelancing idea, or Bounty hunting. One of the most exciting activities on this great forum is Bounty, where you get paid for your service, effort, commitment, and time, These forms of service and promotion are usually on the [service board] and [Bounty ( Altcoins ) board].  On the service board, most of the Bounties are very limited in payment and saturated with large participants as payments are usually offered /paid in Bitcoin and other valuable alternative coins, the Altcoins Bounties are the dominated ones on Bitcointalk.
Altcoins Bounties are always full of promises, where projects can offer you a fixed amount of tokens in thousands of USD distributed in different campaigns such as Signature, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, and content creation. The beginning is always the best part where everyone joined in excitement with proof of registration and booking positions on the spreadsheet but the stories always change towards the end of the campaign/promotion.
Bounty is very tedious work as they require some of your time, one needs to study the project, download a whitepaper, personal research before a promotion but the time waste doesn't worth the effort. Your pay will disappoint you at the end of the day especially when you promote and depend on just a single project.

CHALLENGES

  • Bitcointalk Bounty is different from other freelancing networks. It's not a get quick rich promotion. Don't rejoice when these projects promise for a share of $500,000 for videos and articles content, you will end up with disappointment or get paid a penny for hard work.
  • The Altcoins may not be listed on exchanges, the project you are working for may not get listed on exchanges, this happens when they failed to meet crowdfunding targets or hard cap. ICOs are dead(literally), IEO fading away with time. Only sound projects scale through this when they are connected with large exchanges such as Binance, Okex, and other reputable exchanges.
  • Successful projects may ignore your payment at the end of the campaign and there is absolutely nothing that will happen, especially when payments are not escrowed by the Bounty manager. The little you can do is to be patient pending when they have a change of mind.
  • Some projects require transaction fees from individuals for distribution of token when the network becomes congested with loads of transactions leading to high fees. It's ridiculous to demand a transaction fee of $20 for a penny token of $30. It doesn't worth it.
  • Compulsory verification of accounts that participated in the bounty to filter double accounts, this is always done using KYC( know your customer ) for identifying each member. The difficulty with this challenge is your verification may be rejected or inability to provide the requested document.

How to improve your earnings and increases the chances of not getting scam by Altcoins Bounty.

  • Never participate, there other ways you can earn on the forum service board for a fixed price or payout in BTC.
  • Do your research, participate in all Bounties if you have the time, few may worth your effort and time in the end.
  • Increase your ranking on the forum, this will increase your chance of participating in the signature campaign.
  • Avoid Bounties that aren't escrowed by the campaign manager.
  • Join the Videos and Articles campaign, there is a high chance of getting more earnings through content creation with fewer members.
  • You can approach other projects as a bounty manager ( this comes with other challenges, be careful).

Miscellaneous

  • Avoid the use of Two accounts ( alternative accounts) on bounties otherwise stated by the BM( Bounty manager).
  • When Ban, don't create another account. This thread is [there] for you, they will catch you and your account may receive a red flag and negative trust or permanent ban. Check the rules before you engage in Bounty.
  • Don't use two addresses to cheat on any Bounty, it may result to ban of accounts.
  • The rules are there for transparency, follow them. Good luck.

All the advices in this guide have been discussed before through many other topics. But i agree that you made a great work listing all of them together in one simple guide. However, it's somehow strange that a two months old account who didn't post any comment in the bounties board or join a bounty (according to the post history) can resume the bounty challenges in this forum like someone who has been here for a long time.
Personally, i don't recommend to join bounties in the altcoin board as it's a waste of time by all means .

There are two types of campaigns we can join on bitcointalk, bitcoin signature campaign has been the best, that is why it is good to work towards only signature campaigns. How can I work on social media for a bounty campaign and yet not be given what I do worked for, it is very uncalled for. There are many bounties that dumped in a way that someone works are in vain. But, there is no way bitcoin will dump and will not rise again, it has been the currency people really trust. Which will be the reason I will prefer only bitcoin signature campaigns, that is only what I am working towards.

It is not bad to go for bounty campaigns under altcoin section but it will not be a good idea for some reasons which you have been listed above. But out of 100, there will be 5 good ones, this still look like a waste of effort for me when the signature campaigns that pay bitcoin are 100% best, out of 100% bitcoin signature campaign are 100% good results, no manipulations like altcoins.

I do agree that bounty hunting is no longer profitable as in 2017. But it is really hard for bounty hunters to understand that. They still think that they can get as much as 2017, because during that time even doing airdrop bounty is really that good (although you have to send your personal info, if I'm not mistaken). But today it's very different, the pool has reduced if there are a lot of bounty hunters then obviously your reward is going to be that low that is is not even worth to give it a try.

For me bounty hunting is still profitable as its only my source of income. I accept every situation that will happen including, bounty not paying the hunters, bounty went to scam.

Thanks for the reminders dude, I'm fortunate that I realized all these things early. And the result is very wonderful because until now my whole journey so far was mainly compose of good memories. I did the right decision and everyone else should do the same thing. I also hope they (especially the newbies) realized it very soon so that their time and efforts will not be wasted for nothing.

The best advice ever lol Cheesy. Don't get me wrong, I'm do not hate altcoins, what I hate are bounty campaigns. Much better to offer your services rather than joining one.

Thats your suggestion bro. Im a known bounty hunter in the past and slightly still now but I always make sure to reviewed some project that have campaigns. Yes there are some unprecedented event will occur in a campaign but that doesnt mean we cant earn from it. My specialty is doing content and submit it to them. Reviewing a project is also gaining info on how would they plan and execute their target goals hence only depend on the project.

But I do appreciate your reminder. Thanks for that.

His advise is based on his own perception which for me doesnt mean a good advise. If you hate bounty for altcoin much then its up to everyone right? What I hate on bounty for altcoin are the scam one but those big bounty with potential is a good fortune when you discover them well.

I figure there are people whose experience vouch for the statements reflected in the OP, and a bunch (the luckier ones) that would not be so categorical and adamant. It’s a bit of a lottery I guess, even if you try to be selective (which is not always possible).

I recall my first signature campaign being a waste of time. It turned out to be a scam – so much for giving visibility to what I thought had some fundamentals to it. Not that being on that campaign affected my posting habits in any way, but it was a bummer to see what the ICO pulled-off, both to the investors and the bounty hunters (being the former the saddest set).

There is nothing surprising. And you rightly noted, the OP is a professional in such a “hard” job called “bounty”
In his first post, the OP points out the mistakes he went through on his own. Yes, he participated in bounty companies, had alternative accounts where he used the same wallet number. And participated in the same bounty.

Therefore, the OP could be supplemented with a topic titled: “Passed on my own experience” Smiley
So that no one else would have any suspicions about such an experienced “Newbie”, I added a neutral tag to him, where everything is described.

It’s a bit of a lottery I guess
Not a bit, it's totally a lottery but nothing else. There's no way anyone can guarantee of having payments or having a good amount. Last time I had participated in bounty was- GEOMA Dao which I thought will be a successful project as it had created a lot of hype around the forum but it was failed. Still couldn't conduct their tokensale, jo listing.
