I tried to use freewallet.org to test send 0.54 BNB from Binance address to my freewallet.org. They claim it was never received.

After i complained to them, they switched the BNB address on my freewallet.org account and claimed i had sent the funds to a false address.

But they forgot to change the memo.

When i did the transactions i checked everything 3 times.

So apparently if i typed the correct memo i would have been attent enough to type the correct receive address as well right?

https://imgur.com/60LYgMn As you see they managed to change my deposit address but forgot to change my memo.

Sorry to hear this has happened to you... If you want a good response to your thread, and you want it to be seen by freewallet and other members that specialise in tagging scammers, move your topic to the correct subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 (just hit ctrl-F and search for "move topic", then follow the wizard to move your post to the scam accusation subforum)

Also, use the correct format, as described in this sticky thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you have this impression. All memo IDs generated by you for the BNB currency remain on your account - which you can double check in the Freewallet app.
I wanted to let you know that we are on your case and currently reviewing the details provided by you.

Also,
on the screenshot you sent here we can see the memo for your BNB wallet with our service but a different address.
We could not change the wallet address in the blockchain explorer.

Best regards,
Freewallet Team.

Look at these threads.

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5128260.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4891827.0

Use the domain as a keyword to search it on our forum google search. It will show you lots of complains about their service.

Here's the red flag.

The issue with OP's case is with the change in deposit address though, not the memo. Do you mean the change did happen then? I think even if you need to change deposit address, there should be a time frame for users to manage it.

From what we've found, there is no mismatch between the user's deposit address and Freewallet's deposit address.

However, the transaction was sent to a completely different address. We are waiting for clarifications from the user in the support ticket.

All the shadiness and the scam accusations aside, I don't think there's really a reason to use such a custodial wallet. It's not like you're missing out on some features when using a good non-custodial wallet anyway.

Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people don't even do a few minutes of research when picking a bitcoin/crypto wallet; because if they did, almost no one would actually use this service.

OP traded with someone that has been flagged so many times. I hope this is an honest mistake where you didn't know about their forum account. Next time try to look for the sites you wish to use in the forum, they are pretty helpful. Regarding your funds, they will continue to use the mismatch address card because they will try to make you believe that you are the one in mistake.

There are so many good wallets that you would havechosen instead of this freewallet. I don’t even know where people get these wallets that I have not heard of before, I don’t know about it and this is the first time that I am seeing anyone mention this name. Did you do research at all before you started making use of this wallet?

There are better wallets you would have used and not experienced all these issues you are going through, Exodus is a good wallet, and there is also Jaxx, even Blockchain and BitPay and other wallets that are popular.

I'll say this from personal experience as I've also used FreeWallet back in 2016.

How I landed upon it, is when I did a quick search on the Google PlayStore using the search query "bitcoin wallet". Wallets that appeared are Electrum, Mycelium, FreeWallet, and some others. And me being a huge UI/UX junkie back then until now, I chose FreeWallet simply because it looked a lot better compared to Electrum and Mycelium not knowing the risks I was taking(let's be honest, Electrum is great, but it looks bad in modern standards). Thankfully, I did deeper research a month later.

^Not everyone will have the same reason on why they picked FreeWallet, but I assume their reasons are really really similar.

many used freewallet as it was the default to withdraw from the minergate website.

Freewallet.org has a multi year history of selectively scamming people (usually when they try to withdraw funds).
I've posted about them many times over the years, they are an absolute scam outfit & should not still be in business. It appears they are immune to law enforcement.

As I know, Freewallet BNB address is completely different from what is seen on the image: https://[Suspicious link removed]/3kRfu7o

Now, this is my theory about your account:

You have made 23 posts (that were not hidden for me).
You made one post in december 2018, 2 bursts in januari 2019 (totalling 8 posts). I guess these posts were either made by an account seller, or they were made in a futile attempt to reach junior member rank so your shilling attempts would have been taken more seriously by other members (but the introduction of the merit system was just in time... januari 2018 IIRC).

At this point it was clear you would always be stuck with a newbie rank, so you started to shill for freewallet anyways (as was your initial purpose): out of the 14 posts you made after januari 2019, 10 were made to protect freewallet. A lot of times when freewallet faced a serious accusation you popped up to defend them evenough the evidence was usually pretty clear.

All other posts made by this account seem like "fluff" to me, just basic shatter to fill the post history so it isn't too obvious you're a freewallet shill.

So... Tell me the truth... Is this theory correct?

Now, freewallet... I'll be honest: when one of your sockpuppets enters a thread to defend you, i usually feel this action is contraproductive for your case. If you need a shill/alt/sockpuppet coming in to defend you and say positive things about your service in the thirth person, my gut usually tells me you have something to hide... Same here: i would have given you the benefit of the doubt (innocent untill proven guilty), but since the shill army has entered the discussion, i'm inclined to add more value to the accuser's claim... Nothing was proven tough...

Thank you for sharing this logical conclusion! It seems, however, that we've never been given benefit of doubt in this thread.
Anyway, we dare to stress that the funds being sent to one address are unlikely to be reflected in another one, right? And the address used by the OP was never listed as the one belonging to Freewallet.
How does that sound it terms of logic?

Just not to take an aggressively defensive state, we are still on this case and ready to facilitate a transaction once we find there is a different transaction being sent to our address.
If the OP turns to her transaction, she may find out that originally it was sent to a different wallet/person. It's also possible.
Still, we have not heard from her!
Thanks everyone.

I am no shill for free-wallet nor do I claim to know anything about their legitimacy but I did use minergate a few years back and that did end up with me using freewallet.org app on my phone for the transactions on minergate for mining rewards.

I used the wallet from Jan 2018 with last transaction being June of 2020.

I have sent/withdrawn the following currencies: BCC, BCHSV,  BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC, XDN, XMO, XMR

I have had nothing go awry outside of an issue where their mobile app does not show the same balances/currencies as their website does.

I never put large vast sums in it - I simply used minergate to test gpu/cpu and an asic once or twice.

other than that issue of mismatch between app and site, I have never had any issues or lost any funds to freewallet.

I have never had any issues or lost any funds to freewallet.

you evil and old
what your 10 grandchildren will think about you if they know you evil?
how much freewallet paid you?
your soul is rotten

haha you are funny, you must be someone's alt to know how many grandchildren I have but you are not up to date, I have 12 now.

I am also curious as to why my post has any inclination of evil?

I can post all my txns with free wallet here - with txn ids and time on the block explorers, all the txns would be easy to confirm if one wanted to take that much time.

And thank you for the concern about my soul, but my soul is fine and is not rotten in any way.

also freewallet paid me nothing. I have never been paid for  any companies products to date.
