Sports Betting vs Real "Sports Feelings"

What exactly do you mean by "supporting our favorite teams via betting"? I would never bet only for my favorite team, especially when the odds are really bad. For example, if my team is playing Barcelona, I would never bet on a top result for my team if there is no other reason for that despite being "my" team.   

But do you think you mean something different here?

If the odds are terrible on the match winner then there's still other options available like the handicaps and the team totals over/under if you know they're going to score a lot. I rarely bet on the teams I support but it doesn't hurt to place a few small bets on certain markets.

I think the only time I did this was during our weekly multi master and out of the 15 selected games Watford was one of them.

I think a fan of a certain team follow it because he is a real fan and not because of gambling.Rarely I have seen fans that are fans of a team because of gambling.Surely there are these type of gamblers that watch the events they bet on but they are not real fans.I personally follow my team in every game they play and I rarely bet on them.

this differentiate the two either the one is a

I personally do not depend on my idol team when betting because it is not a guarantee and depends on the opponent, the important thing is I do research first on previous matches when I want to bet on any team and follow my conscience to be selected.

Well, that is the right approach because your betting should not be influenced by your personal thinking and favoritism because that enables emotional betting which more often than not results in loss because you bet way too much on your player while you would not made the same bet had it been the opponent, thinking about it.

When my idol team plays I just watch and enjoy the match and give support and that doesn't mean I bet completely on my idol team and it all depends on the situation.

I usually bet on alternate markets in such cases like if Lakers are playing Heat and I am rooting for Heat but consciously I know that Heat have a really bad chance of winning then I will always go for the alternate markets like betting on over-under market so I avoid betting directly on my team at such instances.

Yes, betting on your team does not mean betting on it through ML. If you don't expect your team to win, then stick to that objective analysis and don't just bet on it because it is your favorite team. That is not how gambling works. Emotions have no place for gambling. Or, if that's what you do, you expect that your money won't grow.

For example, I support Miami against the Lakers but I know they cannot easily do it so I always just keep my money safe by betting on positive handicap. I am not trying to win on very high underdog ML odds. I am happy with around 1.7 just to have a win at the same time support my team.

Yes, betting on your team does not mean betting on it through ML. If you don't expect your team to win, then stick to that objective analysis and don't just bet on it because it is your favorite team. That is not how gambling works. If you have been consistently doing that in this series, you are already in a big profit as they only lose in game one if we are talking about positive handicap. Sometimes our expectation does not happen, when people are thinking that Lakers could easily beat the Heat the other way would happen, and look where the Heat is now, they extend the series to game 6 and possibly to game 7 if they will do an outstanding job again in game 6.

Everyone has their own thoughts, so there must be people who bet only on their favorite team. Such a person betting is not oriented
towards profit, but bets on the trust of his favorite team. Because I am a typical person who focuses on making profits when doing

Actually very interesting topic as I myself being a gambler now realize that I often stop enjoying the sports like I used to enjoy before because I bet too much on the games and rather than having the fun of the games I am now becoming a robot who will deposit and then pray for an event to fall in my favor and actually I get so carried away with betting that I used to bet on teams I hate just because I feel they will have a better chance of winning today, I am a long time Federer fan but when a match happen like Djokovic vs Federer I would be so tempted to bet on Djokovic just because I know he is better.

I feel strange after thinking like that because I am making better gambling decisions overall actually but am I getting too involved in gambling on sports such that I miss the fun? Sure I do miss the same thrill and excitement.

There are a lot of fans like you, rooting for the team on every game even if they are not betting. Because not all die-hard fans are gamblers. But for many gamblers as well as fans, they not only bet on their favourites but even on their opponents as long as they feel who is in the advantage for that particular game.

Well, myself as a gambler I do sport betting according to my real life feelings almost all the time. I have in some occasions choose what doesn't seem feasible but with real feelings for a particular team decided to go the other way. This might be unethical when discusse sporting but that's my passion and my life. My team is most important irrespective of the opponent the team stand to battle against.

Personally I never bet sports that I don't enjoy.  If I don't like the sport that means that I don't watch it and I'm not paying attention to the particulars that I'd need to know in order to make an educated bet.  Personally I mainly just bet NFL Football because it's my favorite sport , played it growing up, and understand it the most. 

Betting sports you don't love can be pretty risky if you're not constantly keeping up with it.  Even baseball which I love I don't bet, too unpredictable.  I guess I'm not a huge gambler compared to some either.

There are some people who do sports betting just to make money, not because they really like the sport. Actually, there is nothing
wrong with this, but people like that will not be able to feel the real sports feeling. Sometimes I feel confused, when it comes to

I had favorite team in sports but I am not always following my emotions. It always depends on the guts I have, for example the leading player got injured, emergency and unexpected events that may lead the game not to win, etc.

There are others who really bet on their favorite team regardless of its opponent. I do not do this because I know that betting on the basis of emotion and not on objective analysis and statistics is just going to end up in a loss more often than not. But if it is fun to do for others, it is not a problem.

I just don't share it because even if gambling is primarily for fun it is also about winning and earning for me. I don't just gamble to support my favorite team. I gamble to try to have fun and make money in the process.

Sports betting is my favorite because it hard for me to lose the game I bet for. I know most of the players very well so anytime the team want to play with other team my prediction don't fail me because am use to international and local  gambling very well.
I don't really like real sports feeling because anytime I pay to watch my fans, I find it difficult to be happy unless my fans are winning that I will be seat comfortable in that match. I feel you. Some people are seeing sports betting as a job or as an investment rather than something to be enjoyed. I know a few people who are not really die-hard fans of the game but shell out huge amounts of money when the odds are good for a hyped match. As for the favorites, I sometimes feel conflicted whenever my favorites are against a much better opponent in terms of stats and recent performance. Betting against my favorite team does not mean 'betrayal' in any way, or something that should deeply be concerned about--at least for me. I still bet on enemy teams if the chances of winning and the returns are quite good. I can still support my teams in some other ways, so I guess it's not really that bad if I choose another team to take my bet on.

Usually, when people bet and time comes to their favourite one(s), they bet on their winning or if they doubt about it, then there are corners, red/yellow cards, offsides and other options. On another hand, people usually bet on teams that they think will win the certain match and in this case it happens like they are on their side on certain moments and that's pretty normal.
If it comes to club, my favourite in soccer is FC Barcelona and to be fair right now, it's because of Messi. That's the player that I appreciate the most and whenever he goes, I'll be a fun of that club.
Otherwise, my favourites are Liverpool, Arsenal in Premier League, but I especially love Liverpool.

There are really a lot of those bettors, die-hard fans.  No matter what the results are, they are on the camp of their favourites. But for some bettors who are thinking about the money that they will generate from betting, they are more concern on the actual scenario, who will be the winner in this match, who has the edge in this round? So even if they are rooting on some players or team, what matters is the potential winnings that they will get.

The best thing that you can do to whenever there is a game of your e favorite team to the other team is that you shouldn't bet and focus on the game and by that, you will get entertained and to avoid feelings while betting because once your favorite team fights a strong team then for sure you will bet for your favorite team because you want them to win the game.
