To be fair, if the OP is ok with purchasing a license to the image before commercial use, then it would be okay. Designer prob should've mentioned this in post though.

Then there is no point for holding this contest if the project owner have to spend another money for a license. And it's a big shame if you submit a design that isn't originally made by you to a contest, even though you have purchased the license.

I'd really thought those simple designs would win as it can be used for their generic branding. I am a designer myself but didn't bother joining here. I've already seen a lot of similar styles of logos like those who've win and I personally didn't liked it. It is too obvious that they've plagiarized with the uncleanliness of their works. Also, if the client wants to have a versatile logo (just a suggestion), they better chose those that can be for their general "fashion" business. Having a womenfigure in a logo would be seemed to be a business mostly for women's fashion, henceforth onto having men figures as well. If they also wanted to be a famous brand soon, they better be looking on what are the logos of famous fashion brands nowadays, most and almost every brands do have generic logo, and they better chose those logos that were made with vectors, they might find a problem if they chose those winners that would only provide jpeg files, it'll be blurred if they scale it up.

I am just saying my personal designing critiques. I hope the OP would reconsider looking at the bigger picture. Logo defines their business. It is critical.

Dc logo - I didn't know that this kind of layout is already existing. I just thinking about a unique and a common layout. First I came up with the letters D and C just common thing combine the both letter next is I imagine what if a water drop wave on the D and C with the center of the both letter but it's just fit on the letter C so I just made a duplicate on the D so they look the same even it's not a drop anymore look like.

Background - I used a fabric silk to make more elegant since it was all about fashion.

Font - I chose this kind of font because it has a unique style and it gives a retro style which is for me, that is when Fashion and styling are began. Also, it is not usually use when it comes to making a logo.

For both submission I do have vector files. Though the second one since there's little time left, I did utilize a commercially available one with a license and added my own changes to it. Vector files can be resized without having any loss in quality.

edit: the blur one is my first idea but it didn't go well so I find the font with this which is I got the monoton font and this gives me the greater idea to use it. By rasterizing each layer to make it to the theme of black and gold I come up with my second entry.

Font : Cutive-mono - for the dernier cri, Monoton for the DC

For the record, I have created my logo from strach and all the designs, colours, textures are made by me and editable in depth if required.
