Recently, I have been reading a lot of topics where the DeFi ecosystem is called a scam.
But let's be impartial and ask the question, are you choosing the right projects?
HYIPs that promise 1-2% profit per day or 360-720% we call a scam and in yield farming projects with a profit of 3000% per year we invest, and then we call DeFi a scam.
Maybe it's time to get honest?

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I like the idea of wBTC a lot to basically allow BTC trading on the ETC platform.

Apparently there are also direct atomic swaps between ETC and BTC as well:

Ethereum platform look for ways bitcoin can count on there platform and also alters ether price, I have only known about wBTC as bitcoin DeFi project, I do not know they are many like these. Even with what ethereum platform trying to achieve, and with other such DeFi projects that is driving high the price of ether, ether is still many ways behind bitcoin.

BSC (Binance smartchain) no data mentioned. maybe you can add BTCB data how much in the BSC network. yep BSC, hardforks from ethereum have been able to make HYIPs lately.

(swap) just helps / makes it easier for traders to get profit in the short term and of course decentralization. Or participate in liquid, farming, etc.  Cheesy

We need to look not only at the amount of interest per day/month/year that the project promises for staking our coins. It is important to understand how the project will earn so that part of its earnings will go to our as a reward. If there are no problems with this and the project has a transparent business plan that works perfectly, then such a project can bring even 100% per day.
A clear sign of a fraudulent project is that its business model is not transparent. ROI is the next detail.

100% per day Huh Are you seriously?
How do yield farming projects make money? Attracting new hamsters. Hamsters buy tokens to participate in the farming of the same or other tokens,
but when there are a lot of tokens, their price drops.
The price of a token can grow by 100% per day or more, but this is only because of the thirst for new hamsters and their number.

These are the same eggs, only when viewed from the other side.
This is a common HYIP that has no financial model other than an increase in the value of the token due to the growth of the community.

.....A clear sign of a fraudulent project is that its business model is not transparent. ROI is the next detail.
How about if the project's business model is so transparent that you can clearly see it's unsustainable in the long run and will collapse like other HYIPs or ponzi investment schemes? The difference is "investors" in DeFi projects can pull out their money faster than traditional HYIPs.

......

SEC has been issuing some soft warnings that investors needs to tread carefully. We don't know what these regulators are up to yet but I feel like they've been working in the background to take down or heavily regulate yield farming and lending related DeFi projects.

Anyway, it's better to see them simply as "tokenized bitcoins" than bitcoins. In my opinion, for a tokenized bitcoin that is on the DeFi Ecosystem(or similar systems) to qualify as bitcoin, it has to be exactly as bitcoin and controlled by the main Bitcoin Network. Whatever happens to the main Bitcoin happens to its copy on DeFi.
It's more like replicated Bitcoin controlled by thesame brain.

Perhaps I slightly overdid the amount of interest per day.
I know how defi projects work. All of them have the form of a financial pyramid, where the profits of previous investors are taken from the investments of new ones. As long as there is a constant flow of new investors, investing in DEFI projects is profitable. As soon as the hype begins to subside, a wave of project bankruptcies will begin.

How about if the project's business model is so transparent that you can clearly see it's unsustainable in the long run and will collapse like other HYIPs or ponzi investment schemes? The difference is "investors" in DeFi projects can pull out their money faster than traditional HYIPs.

People want to earn as much as possible. Therefore, most often they do not have time to withdraw their money in a timely manner.

Ucy thanks, I misspelled.

LittleHamster Do you know where yield farming came from? This is an interesting and clever decision to distribute project tokens without violating the SEC standards.

It started with the Compound project. Only later did scammers start using yield farming to create scam projects.

yield farming is a very small part of the DEFI ecosystem, which is already losing its relevance.
So why do people mean yield farming, and DEFI projects are called a scam?

Ucy thanks, I misspelled.

LittleHamster Do you know where yield farming came from? This is an interesting and clever decision to distribute project tokens without violating the SEC standards.

It started with the Compound project. Only later did scammers start using yield farming to create scam projects.

yield farming is a very small part of the DEFI ecosystem, which is already losing its relevance.
So why do people mean yield farming, and DEFI projects are called a scam?

Latest figures suggest near $2 billions in  BTC are locked by DeFi smart contracts.  At least those BTC are not in the hand of bots that move the price up and down and have less impact on the market.  But the dark side of it they may end up in the wallets of scammers, DeFi is known to be full  of them. IMO,  one needs carefully select project before locking  BTC.

I generally don't recommend blocking your bitcoins to get wrapped coins.
All serious projects require completion of the "know your client" procedure. Then it's easier to trade on the exchange Smiley
If you want wrapped bitcoins, they can be bought on uniswap and easily sold there.

Read about 2 projects, these are serious companies that store clients' bitcoins.

You’re very right, most of them are only investing in projects where they are going to be getting thousands of profits in return, and nobody is interested in the good ones because they won’t be able to gain much profit from it. Funny thing is that most of these DeFi projects have dropped in price and majority dropping by more than 60%.

I have not invested much in DeFi except ChainLink. I have been okay with the coins I have invested in, so I didn’t go further to look for any other project or DeFi to invest in, despite that a lot of people kept hyping them and within one month I was seeing huge increase, I was almost going to invest in them but decided to continue with just the ones I have already invested in.

Mate, you can't blame other people by calling Defi projects a scam, Because most of them are indeed a scam, and just riding the hype and popularity of Decentralized Finance or Defi, Only a few Defi projects are legit and we can easily recognize it. But I don't understand why most of the investors are not considering that fact instead they are just ignoring it and continue to speculate on fake Defi projects without any products and use case to show. thats why if the promised profitability is too high you should start to ask yourself if it was achievable and the rest will be your decision.

Only few will still be legit in a long run some will be tagged as a scam after they reach some ATH or after they succeed in their campaign. Just like what happen in other ICO project. The only good thing about this hype is that many already learned from ICO hype before and they are now only getting the opportunity to earn even in short term as most of the projects from DeFi can only make us earn in short term as there are too many traders or day traders who plans to sell it once it's approaching to ATH. There will be more to add in op list as defi still have impact to investors mostly traders and more BTC can be added but we always need to consider if there are worth for long or short term investment.

With the scam hype like DeFi when most of tokens are overvalued from 5 times to 100 times, the figure for how many bitcoin are there in DeFi will have very fast change. It can fall quickly and will be divided by 5 times, 10 times or 50 times very soon.

The figure can not fall quick despite of quick falls of DeFi tokens' price and get support from higher and higher total circulating supplies from those hyper inflated DeFi tokens.

I guess, this money will be not lost. Moreover, larger sums will be invested in DeFi in the nearest 2-4 months. DeFi does not only make and raise money but makes it work. This is not a scam. This is a real and huge market, which participants get good profits.

I see, because you provided the data, then we know DeFi projects are not only using Ethereum (WETH) as their main coin.
The fact that we already know bitcoin circulation in DeFi projects is huge, then most DeFi projects are not scam indeed.
but i think ethereum coin is still exist more than bitcoin in most DeFi projects because people usually trading erc20 tokens and need eth for gas.

I sent a $ 1,000 Bitcoin transaction today. I paid a $ 55 commission. This is why I don't like Bitcoin.
I believe that the price of bitcoin will rise, and the owners of the exchanges will be arrested in order to take their bitcoins away from them.

If you want to trade Bitcoin, use decentralized exchanges.

Do those on the list have a license from the regulator for this activity? Or have you specially compiled such a list of those who conduct activities illegally?
