There are a lot of negativity about this PayPal offering, but you have to admit that most of these issues are targeted at centralized services taking over Bitcoin and exploiting people. Just remember this... we want Bitcoin to go global and currently this is not going fast enough with the traditional methods. (Most Crypto Exchanges have strict KYC requirements too and they also enforce their ToS by locking accounts)
PayPal already have a huge user base and our experiment can fly with the wings that are provided by PayPal. Let PayPal be the introduction to Bitcoin and let us educate people on the correct way to own bitcoins. (Own your Private Key, will come later as more people get used to the difference, after we educated them.)
