OneUSD

My precious OneUSD. Thought long and hard about this one and the first thing that came to my mind is the One-Ring from Lord of the Rings. OneUSD sounds great and represents the power of the people which covers the decentralization aspect.

Also, One-Ring was forged in the fires of Mount Doom which implies that it was mined. This also implies that OneUSD can be mined.

OP, if you want to do something really unique, I suggest you to make a (r-)stablecoin pegged to any other currency but USD. There are already several cryptocurrencies (more or less decentralized) pegged to USD. Since the project is still in planning phase, I believe this wouldn't be a problem. My suggestion (also stated in the project's topic) would be to create a coin pegged to a currency used worldwide, maybe not so much as USD, but at least close to USD's usage. Such currencies are Euro and GBP. As far as I know, at the moment there isn't any cryptocurrency pegged to other currencies excepting EURS and BGBP^*, so this would be something unique. Not to say that there isn't any cryptocurrency pegged to EUR / GBP yet, which is also mineable.

As a consequence, you could name your cryptocurrency DigiEUR or DigiGBP. Or eEUR or eGBP. I hope this suggestion helps.

With the dozens of suggestions, some were good while many were bad, I don't think that extending the deadline would even make a simple change. Also, they've clearly stated in the OP that if they chose not to take any of the submitted names and ideas, they'll just give a 20USD consolation to the top 5 among the suggestions. Meanwhile, there are a lot of replies that seemed to not be following the suggestions and rules of the OP, so I guess it wouldn't be hard for them to filter the ideas out.

The advantage of having a stablecoin pegged to another currency instead of USD is that it would have more chances of being adopted. When you launch a product on a market saturated with similar products, you have less chances to have success with your product. But when you launch a product which is almost unique you have better chances.

Think it in terms of probabilities.

As of now there exists just 1 crypto currency pegged to EUR. So a new stablecoin pegged to EUR would have 50% chances of being adopted. Maybe even more, as this one is mineable. The same is true about being pegged to GBP.

Regarding USD-pegged coins, at the moment there are already 20 coins, according to CMC. So a new coin would have 1 chance out of 21, or 4.7%. Or even less, considering that the actual coins are established coins while this one will be a new coin.

So now you do the math: would you prefer to have 50% success chances with your product or 4.7%?
