We have successfully made modifications to a pre-existing hashing algorithm in an attempt to further protect our network from ASICs & FPGA, this is known as "cache hash".
The Cache testnet network is nearly hitting block 20,000 and we are all excited to launch the mainnet.
The new hashing algorithm we modified has been working like a dream since block 1 and even when we implemented it into pre-existing mining and pooling software.
That's where LetsHash.it came in to operate our first pool and really put it to the test by letting our community mine it with the software provided as opposed to solo-mining via the daemon client.

For Windows, we have a CI pipeline that has been setup to automatically build any new work for Windows x64, for the Cache core clients and GUI wallets.

After a successful 20k block testnet using our new hashing algorithm, we have decided to set a date for mainnet.

Mainnet will be activated on the 15th November 2020 at 10.00am GMT.

The pool operators and current node operators will have enough time to prep. This also gives us enough time to get everything ready for when we do launch mainnet like all the correct information where it needs to be, guides are made, binaries are built and much more. We want this to go as smooth as possible and by allowing 2 weeks extra prep time gives us the opportunity to do so

All testnet data will be backed up for the future if we decide to keep an active testnet running for developer reasons like testing new code and so on but as for the coins, they will have no value/swap value to the mainnet coins. The testnet coins are not meant for value, purely testing only.

So for the answer, all the coins mined are on a different network than the mainnet network and therefore cannot interact or be swapped for.

It is unlikley that the testnet network will be active again but we have backed everything up in case we wish to reactivate that chain or look back on it for information.

I gave a full explanation in our Discord server regarding this.

It comes down to the pool not paying out because their isn’t enough ring signatures on the network to process the transaction but we have solved this issue when it comes to the mainnet blockchain.

As of writing this, I must also point out that there has been transactions on the blockchain (~200 so far). If all you’re after is to have a balance in your wallet, I may suggest solo mining via the core daemon as you’re rewarded a full block paid directly to the address given.

Please tell me where you’re seeing this information? As I’ve repeatedly said, all testnet nodes got shutdown after we concluded a successful testnet phase. Mainnet is due to launch in 2 hours. There is absolutely no hashing happening on the network at this very moment and hasn’t been for a good few days.
