Signatures gone?

I use Firefox in version 82.0 (64-bit).
uBlock Origin was last updated to version 1.30.6 on October 22nd.

So I guess it has something to do with the Firefox latest version. My Firefox version is still 81.0.2 (64-bit) just like mk4's, and I am using the latest version of uBlock Origin, 1.30.6 just like yours.

Very strange because until today about noon it was as usual. Since then the signatures are really only shown if the plugin is disabled.
I can still reproduce the behavior now.

Try adding bitcointalk under trusted sites and see if it helps

With the addition of the site to trusted sites, signatures are displayed perfectly, and uBlock remains in working order.

Update:
This morning when I opened my Firefox browser and it had automatically updated to the latest version 82.0.2. As soon as I refreshed this thread. All the signatures disappear unlike yesterday before It had been updated. Which means uBlock Origin's signature blockade works with the latest version of Firefox. 

Quick work around

1. Open the uBlock Origin add-on and click on the eye icon to disable cosmetic filtering. The signatures will appear instantly while the add-on will remain running


2. Add bitcointalk.org under trusted sites as i had suggested earlier

I have set bitcointalk.org as a trusted site. Unchanged.

It works. Once you add bitcointalk.org make sure you click on "Apply Changes" then refresh the any thread that contain poster wearing signatures

I don't know why someone would want bitcointalk signatures universally blocked by an Adblocker yet the forum already has the option not to view signatures in the forum settings 
Not all signatures are Ads. Maybe Theymos can try and workout a solution.

I am using uBlock Origin for years every day and I never had this issue on bitcointalk forum but looks like they added bitcointalk on some of their lists in recent versions like 1.30.8.
No wonder, as developers are updating it very often.

So, the uBlock Origin extension will also start blocking all signatures for new installations or for the users that decide to clear their filters list cache. If theymos wants to (or cares enough) he can just remove/rename the "signature" class of the div to bypass the filter.

It would be good if theymos updates and renames this, but that makes me think if some individuals (and I can think of few of them) added this link on purpose as sabotage or revenge.

Yeah, I just added "bitcointalk.org" under trusted sites, saved changes, refreshed any forum thread where signatures were blocked, and they reappeared. Not sure why it didn't work for you.

I read the Reddit thread the OP wasn't even complaining about the signatures but rather the Forum ads that appear after the OP.

There are profile signatures which you can easily hide, but there are these ads in between posts that are difficult to remove.

Every time I manually use the dropper and hide the ad, the ad comes back if I browse to a different post.

Any hints on how to remove the ads?

But the still went ahead and included the signatures filters. I am going to create a Reddit account and try asking them to reverse what they tried to do. Hope it yields positive results because not all signatures are Ads.

Same with Chrome Version 86.0.4240.111 (Official Build) (x86_64), signature disappear with uBlock Origin

This is about the ad blocker of uBlock and the cause has already been found.

Seems to me they thought only ads are ever posted in users' signature area. Since adblocks are supposed to be blocking, well, ads, and ideally nothing else, at least they are consistent.

Unlock Origin filter lists auto-update every week, which is where the filter blocking Bitcointalk signatures lives, so what must have happened at your end was your lists updated just after they made the filter, and then your lists updated again just now, to a new list that doesn’t have the sig ad filter.

Yes, there was already the rollback of the changes that caused us these problems.

I noticed one weird thing today that I’m sure is caused by uBlock Origin. The part of the Meta board where we see who posted the last post is invisible (grayed out), and with uBlock turned off is working normal. So far I have not noticed any other problems.

I have been seeing the same for a brief period of time, on a Firefox browser with Ublock Origin, but the effect seems to have evaporated after a while. I tried, at the time, with different browsers, and they did not display the grey matter on Meta’s last post area (no adblock type plugging on those).

I am under Chrome latest version with uBlock Origin installed. I was getting mad at it without knowing what was the cause. For about a week I supposed it was the VPN to cause that because browsing the forum without it activated I was able to see sigs (but I now remember I was under Firefox with no adblockers).
Good to know what happened; I can go back to my fav browsing settings.

Which version of Firefox and uBlock are you using?
For me with FF 82.0.2 (64-bit) and uBlock in version 1.30.6 it works correctly.
As we now know, it happens very quickly with changed behavior.

You might have mistakenly blocked it with the eye-dropper icon. Click on uBlock Origin, then on the icon with horizontal lines and dots on it to open the dashboard, go to “My Filters” and look for any line with bitcointalk.org in it and delete it.

Same issue as before.

The uBlock team only removed the filter rule that was blocking the signatures. They still left the one that blocks every span element with the text "Advert".

It blocked the element because of this post: Advertising shiller spotted!

As suggested before, just disable the uBlock extension on the forum (clicking on the on/off button)...

And someone will probably have to go complain to them again.

Is there a reason why signatures are no longer displayed in the entire forum?
Since it has already been noticed by several users it should not be a problem for my user.

The checkmark at "Don't show users' signatures." is of course not set in my profile.
Is it an attempt to limit spam?

Well, I can't relate to what you mean actually, but if it's signatures not displaying in some topics , I can say that the only section that I noticed that signatures don't display is in the serious discussion section , but for every other sections, I see signatures still display as clear and as bright as always.
