Your question is really good, Yes! I do not understand the German language but @SiNeReiNZzz created a signature code for my fundraising project for free, a very noble cause. The only thing I could do is give him the merits which he deserves.

Doesn't that mean if you are actually made a merit source you can misuse it? I am not accusing you but you can easily give out 50 merits where you would have to make a payment of suppose $50 if you are merit source. Appreciation must be shown but in better ways, you can send him some tokens as you work for so many altcoin bounties and must save tokens. You can maybe add a positive trust but giving out merits to posts you don't even understand is not the best choice.

Merit source means you must have a good sense where to spend merits and where not and I am sorry to say you misused merit system here clearly.

Someone who is expecting to become a merit source should not use merits as a means of payment typically.

You are giving merit, and let me clarify merit is seen as a credit for good content, to something that you don't understand. When someone questions you and I tried to be as polite as I could then you are trying to counter attack me instead of realizing how stupid you are.

Sending merits to quotes/replies matter less than to a topic, I agree. But the sole reason for merit was to appreciate good posts not to return favors. I think you need proper education regarding merit spending.

Please can someone reputed in the forum confirm if we should send merits to a specific post or return the favor somewhere else for that post?

@Irfan you are considering merit as a loan which you feel you should send back when and where the person needs it more, which is the wrong way of looking at it.

Merit must be sent to the post you believe is helpful or is good content. You can't accumulate merits for good posts from someone and splash them when that person opens a topic.

If you didn't know, there is something called Google translate which works pretty well. It is pretty much common thing in local boards to receive merit from other merit sources outside that local, even though they don't speak the language as they are probably using Google translate or some other tool when they stumble upon something that looks like a good post.

You give merit to a topic that directly is of your interest, it is Irfan who manages the charity campaign (I respect that, no doubt) so if he gives merit to all the topics that translate his campaign and imagine he is a merit source, isn't this a direct conflict of interest?

People will translate your topic into their languages because they know you are a merit source and you will shower merits on anyone who supports your campaign. this to me sounds like a clear abuse of merit system based on conflict of interests.

How is that conflict of interest? How am I benefiting by launching a fundraising project? How is that conflict of interest to me, If I had a fundraising project and people translate it into the local language it means it's reaching more people and eventually more people will benefit from it, which is the main purpose of the merit system that give merits to those posts which are beneficial to the community

All Pakistani are very lucky and will be proud that they have irfan vai for their help and as a leader for their online journey community. They might always get their must needed support from their vaijan in bitcointalk forum. I am from Bangladesh but really happy to see that a person who is working for their countries people where others countries people also get full support. I am really happy with this gesture from Bangladeshi friend as we need this posiitve mind in this crypto community which is now spreading very quickly and positive in third world countries because we need this all if we want to have some good things for our next generation right now mostly corrupt politicians spreading hate and crimes between us.

Currently Pakistan is doing good in many ways like government officials announces about few things which was not happening for very long time but right now we have something fast from them today Binance announces they are accepting local crypto community with local currency and government is also announceing there is not rectrictions in any crypto related activities hopefully we will have some more good from big one's in near future.

I am 100% sure that sooner or later irfan_pak10 will become the merit source. It's just a matter of time.
