too many scammers will steal anything from your message. If you don't know how to encrypt it, they will be stealing any information from that message.

I still a newbie to the world of cryptocurrency, but I learn much from electrum wallet where has the feature encrypt and decrypt the message to save your message.

I won't talk much, I just want a guide who doesn't know how to encrypt and decrypt a message using electrum wallet. And what tool you prepare it first?, Instaling electrum wallet from official and verify it.

Go to Address Tab, If won't appear, go to view tab and click show address.

Right click address then choose Encrypt and Decrypt message

then write your message (this is an example only) and keep it safe. you only send your public key and encrypted key to your friend

You just send this to your friend

Public key:
Code:
02970d4d67f8c7e4984f1e14aecf456e076a40ec02903f6c768399aac8ce6efad4

Encrypt:
Code:
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

Then tell your friend to open a message using electrum,

go to tool

Input Public key and Encrypt key into the box

Then click decrypt button.

Your secret message will appear if the public and encrypt key has correct.

So you do not worry now, your secret message will encrypt using cryptography.

we are the new era of cryptography.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

That is not correct. You cannot decrypt a message using a public key. If you could, then there would be no point in encrypting it at all since your public key is, well, public. The only reason you can decrypt that message is because the wallet you are using is holding the private key from which that public key is derived.

You use a public key to encrypt data, and you use the related private key to decrypt it.

If you want to encrypt a message for a friend using Electrum, then the first thing you need is for them to send you one of their public keys, or to pull their public key from a transaction they have broadcast. You then use their public key to encrypt the message, and send them the encrypted data. Then your friend (and importantly, only your friend) can use the associated private key to decrypt your message.

You have misspelled the word "encrypt" in the title which shown as "encript". People here are very naive most of the times and they barely care about privacy as you can see most people share a lot of their personal details here.
You should add the usages of encrypting messages, simply saying scammer will steal money wouldn’t help in this I think.

It is better to change the word wallet in the topic title to electrum, because you did not explain another wallet.
How can signing a letter protect against fraud? Fraudsters can sign a message without being detected.
There are some explanations for signing the message in this forum, and if you do not know anything about the technical aspects, it is better not to create Guide topics and learn.
