I don't think the focus is on staking altcoins here. The administration is probably trying to stay away from the altcoin section a bit to focus on bitcoin.

Is there not a defi forum yet or a staking one anyway? Or at least a subreddit...

Hmm... Well we all know this forum is only for bitcoin but when there's boards for Altcoin like (discussion, ann, mining) etc. why not staking..

The forum has the Alternate cryptocurrencies for Altcoins with some boards

Technically, staking is a derivative of mining. I see Altcoin staking is fitted in Mining (Altcoins) board.

You can debate that staking, yielding, farming are different than mining. They are different (not much as differences of ICOs, IEOs) and the truth is most of staking, farming, yielding coins or tokens will die over time. The forum does not need a special cemetery child boards for future walking-dead projects.

Forum is not a bank or investment company, by depositing a certain amount of money and crypto you can be part, the forum is the main destination to discuss crypto, especially Bitcoin, not a place to deposit your money or crypto.

Admin or mod, don't have time to manage your money/Altcoin, that's not the purpose of the forum.
If you have a lot of money/Altcoin, you can use the Staking system on the loan board: there you can get results from loans and interest.

Or you can directly do staking on your local exchange that has a blockchain network, if you want to get additional to your crypto assets.

You can request actuallt but 100% this will not be granted, there is an appropriate section already designated for this and tranthiduing already give it.

Staking is just a feature of altcoin, I think you want to have a board for this, cause of the defi hype but even propose defi section is rejected means all related to altcoins isnt gonna need boards for such usage.

I concur and obviously nothing stands in your way of simply opening devoted threads for it in the Altcoin section. I'm sure it won't be difficult to keep these threads alive, provided that enough people are interested in the subject of staking a specific coin, of course.

Not to mention the potential for more threads of a similar nature to pop up subsequently - why not xyz block confirmation method?

Altcointalk can go ahead and get more in-depth with their alt threads. BTC

I think there was a thread asking for separate board for altcoin technical discussion board but it doesn’t got enough support or attention from the community. I think such a board is unnecessary. Staking doesn’t add a lot of things to discuss. It’s very much limited and mining section can used for that purpose.

Forgetting that this is bitcointalk for a moment, it has been suggested before but it's probably largely useless as most staff probably aren't going to verify accounts in such a way. Also, due to the bounty section there's plenty of options for people to post their addresses there. If they're deleted or modified admins can see that anyway but people should be sure to stake a bitcoin message or their PGP key somewhere. There will probably be many more ways to secure your account on the new forum as well so probably none of this will be needed anyway in the future.

Perhaps you are mistaken about the semantic context, especially given this reply:

Well, we could have a thread for people who want to do KYC or prove their identity with their PayPal account but the admins likely aren't going to use that info to recover accounts so it's futile. There are hundreds if not thousands of currencies out there and it would be very messy if we were to have hundreds of threads for staking addresses for every one of them and it would inevitably just lead to much more spam as people see them as just another thread to get a +1 post in. Signing a message from an alt coin should be something secondary or used as a last resort if someone can't prove ownership via other means and accounts have rarely been recovered using alt accounts. I can think of only one I know of.

It's not just for Bitcoin, but obviously, Bitcoin is priority here. theymos aren't paying so much attention to things in altcoin boards. I remember there was some more requests to add new altcoin boards and sub-forums, like Services or altcoin Gambling, but nothing has been done.
And another question, is it there is enough deman for such board. I'm not following what's going on in Altcoin section, so I didn't saw, is it there so many topics about staking that separate board is needed?

@OP, We all know that staking is another form of mining in altcoins and as stated above by other user, It's more appropriate to post staking related topic on Mining(Altcoin) Board. Why do we need a separate section if there is few demand on it since staking not for a long run. Besides that, I'm sure this thread is all about DeFi staking which we all know that is a Ponzi like scheme.

There is no need for adding more boards in altcoin section, or something like separate staking for this, and I would more like to see removal of some boards.
Altcoin section is a big mess, but you can always create your own topic if you want and maintain it as you like.

This is a suggestion I wouldn't mind being followed through on--but I know it's not going to be, as Theymos was basically throwing the altcoiners a bone when he created the Altcoin boards.

Personally I'm a fan of PoS coins, and I've created a couple of threads in the Altcoin section asking very specific questions that I needed help with.  And you know what?  I got absolutely dick as far as helpful responses.  Thus I have a feeling that even if there were a child board dedicated to staking coins, it would likely be infiltrated by bounty-hunting shitposters offering nothing of value.

If you're into any particular PoS coin, your best bet is to find out if that coin has its own forum--and chances are, it probably does.  I've joined a couple of them, but they're nothing like bitcointalk.  Most of them are barely active as far as discussion goes.  That also makes me think that a staking subsection here would either be dead or filled with garbage posts.

and what do you want to know, i am also fan of PoS tokens/coins, and stake several, so maybe could help with those, if you want to stake same projects
agree that there is a lot of shit-posting on Altcoins section, and a lot of topics that does not have neither purpose nor value

I'm starting to feel a bit like a broken record but here's what I've said a while ago about a nearly identical request (with even more modifications):

Don't exactly enjoy repeating myself but I'm going to re-quote (with minor modifications) what I've already quoted in a topic not far back since the same applies here:

Unless a subset of possible board topics is dominating the front page (+50% of topics on the front page belong to said subset), it's highly unlikely that it'll have a sub-section created for it. Not much point in creating a board that will be dead on arrival.

As with all sub-forum requests, I'm gonna ask a question - how many topics about Satoshi  technical aspects of altcoins staking are currently on the first 3 or so pages of any board? Or on several boards combined? If there aren't enough topics (at least 20 on the frontpage and around 10 on later pages in my experience) to fill a board (meaning such topics do not dominate the discussion sphere of an existing board), what's the point of making a new section that'll be dead on arrival.

In the overwhelming majority of cases, boards are created not to encourage discussion of a subject but to stop a certain subject from dominating a board meant for a larger array of topics.

Oh. Well I don't see why that would be needed. Probably not enough demand and it's probably just another gimmick.
