Hi, has anyone bought from this site or heard of it? It is a store that sells PC components for a good price, it seems well designed and the payment is exclusively in crypto.

It doesn't have any social networks and if you search on Google you only get five results, one of them being a mini review of the store about which I'm not very sure of its objectivity.

Do you think it's reliable? This is the link to that website:

"Good Price" and payment in crypto is exactly why I would avoid them. I'm pretty sure a genuine hardware store would have a location or a legit contact number. Here, you're limited to only support@thecoinstechie.com  for contact which is not reliable. The website is designed with WordPress. I did actually check their location mentioned on the site but couldn't find anything on the Map. Seems to me like a reselling business if legit at all.

I see it this way, if you're spending $500 on hardware, you might as well spend $550 and buy it from a legit shop.

There are a number of red flags for sure.

The website was registered less than 2 months ago, according to WHOIS data. Despite this, their Terms of Service states it was last updated in 2016. This is because it is completely copy and pasted from another website with just the name changed. The same is true of their Privacy Policy and Refund Policy - both completely plagiarized.

Their Refund Policy (https://thecoinstechie.com/refund-policy-warranty/) is particularly notable since it talks about refunds of foods, flowers, newspapers, and magazines.

The majority of their listings are copied word for word from Amazon or Newegg.

I can also not find a single review or even mention of the site anywhere else online.

All in all, I would definitely be avoiding.

I tend to agree comment above, it's kinda red flag to me.  Untrustworthy.

I checked the website and the address that you can find at the bottom part is listed to a different business which made me convinced to circumvent, besides there are other stores both online and physical that offer the same yet don't need too much personal information like this.  However, if I really need to buy something for my PC I'd rather go to a physical store which I think is more secure and at least I know where to go if it requires me to return or replace the item that I bought.  Or in trusted merchants which is already gained buyers' trust.

More red flags: this store has RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 in stock . . . What?? These graphic cards are out of stock everywhere, and i mean EVERYWHERE, you can find them here and there but most of the time you'll have to pay a big premium from a third party seller (and if u find them at msrp, they're sould out in seconds). But, TheCoinsTechie just happen to have these brand new RTX's available from pretty much every AIB partner? and exactly 1 of each in stock? at MSRP!? i don't believe it

Same with the brand new AMD ryzen 5000 cpu's, these are out of stock in stores selling at MSRP, but this website has them avalaible at MSRP? bullsh*t

sketchy af website...avoid! avoid!

Their Refund Policy (https://thecoinstechie.com/refund-policy-warranty/) is particularly notable since it talks about refunds of foods, flowers, newspapers, and magazines.

And :
Quote
* CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened.
VHS tapes? Common, where did they get that.
Btw, those lines are perfect to track websites that copy paste T&C.

To add some more nails in this :
The address is from a commercial center, but that center doesn't list their business on their website, the so-called return address is also fishy, it matches two business which deal with service and truck parts. And of course, la pièce de résistance

Quote
Can I pay with a Credit Card?
No! We are a cryptocurreny only store, this is what makes us different from the rest!

Yeah right, try to get your money back.
Just because they don't accept any kind of payment that would be traceable is one reason not to even think of ordering from them

Thank you for your answers, I didn't expect so much participation. Certainly the low prices and availability of certain items (such as the Nvidia RTX 30XX) is too good to be true. Another clarifying detail, taking a look at ipaddress.com, is that its IP is associated or has been associated to multiple pages with rather suspicious names or domains.

Let this thread serve as a warning to potential buyers when looking for references about that site.

i have to say my 3080 arrived today BUT this was the worst experience i had buying something online in my life, i made my order the 6th of november and it just arrived today (almost three weeks later and i'm not even from the us, my expected delivery was MAX 5 days). They didn't provide a tracking number even after asking support MANY times for it, so imagine the uncertainty all these past few days thinking of wether i was getting scammed or not
imo what they do is sell the cards without stock, and then when they have the stock they finally ship them
I was so suspicious of them today that i even thought they sent me a fake 3080 or something like that but no, it works as expected

I DONT recommend it tho, just wait till there is enough stock so you dont end up banging your head against the wall for weeks like me lol

Even though your review is mostly consisting of negative things, you're also dismissing some of the red flags surrounding them and since you just created an account to comment on this thread, then there's a chance that you could be one of their shills [lately, they've become quite creative with their styles] so I wanted to ask if you could provide some proof for each of the following parts?

i made my order the 6th of november and it just arrived today (almost three weeks later and i'm not even from the us, my expected delivery was MAX 5 days).

For the last part, it would be nice if you could take a few minutes to post a picture consisting of your forum name on a piece of paper taken in front of the computer screen that shows the "GPU-Z" results as well as the box itself...

I DONT recommend it tho, just wait till there is enough stock so you dont end up banging your head against the wall for weeks like me lol
Just to be clear, you're not recommending them for "now" but have no issue with recommending them at a later date?

[lately, they've become quite creative with their styles]

Yeah, the whole post while negative at first is still saying that although you might encounter troubles, they DO deliver, so not outright great, wow, such a shop, much confidence but it's still a somewhat good review.
One more thing, about the proofs, those will not mean anything unfortunately other than a guy taking the picture has indeed a video card in his possession, or that the shop does have some kind of merchandise, not that they will indeed ship, and to be honest it will make things a bit worse.

I've seen enough scams with mining gears when the shops did come with pics of the gear they have and with the piece of paper with the date, but they didn't send one to customers, scamming everybody. Other than a reputable member ordering and receiving the video card anonymously without the shop knowing his position here so they could send him just to get a vouch for it there is no way to be sure for certain about them. Maybe going to visit their location, but that would be too much trouble for a shop with so many red flags already.

You have valid points but I was hoping to connect the dots by getting that picture [GPU part] while also evaluating the other parts of the review to see if it checks out [e.g. transaction link on 6th of November and a few other small pieces]...
- I guess that might still be insufficient if they've planned everything well from the start but it surely eliminates a bunch of them.
