What is NotYourKeys.org?

A few weeks ago, I decided to create a one-page Basic Bitcoin security guidelines site, as to have a quick link to give to beginners that are just getting started with hodling bitcoin. Yes, more intermediate information like full nodes aren't included, but this is mostly for the beginners, and it's to prevent them from being overwhelmed early on.

If you want to spread the word of the importance of self custody especially now that were closing in to bitcoin's all-time high, you can help out by using the avatars below. This campaign might not get any traction at all, but if it ends up helping one person secure his or her funds then it's totally worth it.

NOTE: Wearing this avatar is free. It's pretty much doesn't earn any money, so I won't be able to pay anything.

Yes, the site contains a bitcoin donation address, but I don't expect to receive any donations anyway, and that's totally fine by me.

Since I don't have any tough errands today, I might redesign your avatar if you would approve that I can use it as part of my portfolio. I'll do it for free ofcourse since I see your paltform have good intentions. I'll update this comment after an hour or two for the avatar.

Pretty cool project idea, maybe add Exodus as a wallet, I remember them being a good wallet a few yrs back, but since i transferred online for the sake of convenience

Since I am not part of a signature campaign right now, I will gladly wear the avatar and personal text. Some time needs to pass for my current avatar to be changed. ( NotYourKeys.org - Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin ) a golden rule when you were holding bitcoin.

What are the dimensions of the avatars in px, I'd like to design another style for free for people to use if they prefer it.

The maximum specifications are 120px wide, 80px tall, and 100 KiB in size.

It's a very good initiative. I don't have much hope that people will really consider this advice and get interested in what does "not your keys" mean but I still hope that we should try, if it can rescue at least one man, then it worths!

Hello! Happy new year! Its been a month since I last dare to submit an avatar here and here it goes!!




I tried it to make it distinctive as much as possible, so it can be noticed easily when in a post. Some avatars of existing and running campaigns do always have the same semi-dark colors so I chose those vibrant ones (and was inspired of course with the main Avatars made by the OP). So here it is! I hope you would like this. Goodluck with this campaign!!

A good initiative. The page design is attractive and contains a lot of information. I was hoping that you would add more options like https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet in order for the individual to have more options for downloading wallets.

S/He should also learn some basic things about wallets and how to know scams from the real ones, especially multi-currency wallets like freebitcoin.

If you intend to translate it to Arabic or other languages, send it to me and I may help you with that.

A good initiative. The page design is attractive and contains a lot of information. I was hoping that you would add more options like https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet in order for the individual to have more options for downloading wallets.

S/He should also learn some basic things about wallets and how to know scams from the real ones, especially multi-currency wallets like freebitcoin.

I'll think about adding the bitcoin.org link. I'm just not a fan of some of the wallets listed, but I'll consider it.
