BTC is the first Cryptocurrency. Altcoin might be difficult to replace BTC due to tech innovation and revolution. But it can't be predicted the future as well what special phenomenon will be occurring.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Will the rise of altcoins eventually lead to the demise of Bitcoin? Ultimately Bitcoin has been tested and it has a place in the crypto world. Join our  discord https://discord.gg/pp7Jwsp9 for further discussions about this topic. Tell me what you think?

You are using the wrong wrong Bitcoin will never and can't die as long as we have the internet and electricity to power our computer and the internet, it's almost impossible for Bitcoin to just die, go check the Bitcoin obituary and see how many times Bitcoin was predicted to die, every altcoin is a threat but it's the community's trust that will spell the difference.

The market reaction to Bitcoin price is telling us how strategic bitcoin is to every altcoin out there. I therefore think  Altcoin will not replace Bitcoin in the nearest forseeable future! Altcoin is enable biecause of the functionality of Bitcoin!
I agree with your opinion about Bitcoin, but I don't agree with your statement "how strategic bitcoin is to every altcoin out there", because this is not about strategic Bitcoin, but about correlation between Bitcoin and Altcoins,
If Altcoins are still connected to Bitcoin and cannot stand alone, this means that there is no possibility of an Altcoin that can replace Bitcoin, because one of the ways Altcoins can replace Bitcoin is by being independent of Bitcoin, especially not following the price of Bitcoin when it goes down or up.

Never say never, I can't say in future there won't be one or two Altcoins that would end up replacing Bitcoin but for now I don't see any Altcoins that is well positioned to displace Bitcoin. A lot of things differentiate Bitcoin from Altcoins. First is the novel idea, second is the community, third is the Store of Value that people bought into.  Forth is the Creator (Satoshi) how many of these Altcoins developers can do what Satoshi did and leave the project in the hands of others to move the project forward bitcoin is all time at the top of all cryptocurrency
in market we see any possibilties that might happen in future. Cryptocurrency or blockchain technology not only bitcoin , we still another project here which is they developt the weakness of bitcoin blockchain technology. Altcoin that provide the solution or even new version from bitcoin blockchain technology will get attention from market and someday adopted by huge institution .

Can you imagine that a Tuna fish can swallow a Shark?
Altcoin can replace Bitcoin when it will able to make people believe that Altcoins are unbreakable and more perfect than Bitcoin and Bitcoin is less secured and less trusted.
But keep in mind, Bitcoin is a pioneer & Altcoins are originated from Bitcoin. People know Altcoin on the behalf of Bitcoin, so when people started to distrust Bitcoin automatically they will keep themself away from Altcoin too.
No altcoin has the ability to replace Bitcoin, not price-wise nor market-cap-wise. Many alt's have come and gone but Bitcoin is the real survivor.

Truly, it's a never say never situation, but using the start and foundation of it all, Bitcoin holds a very strong number of users, believers and has gained a lot of backers/trust from the populace too. Over the years, the people in the outside world will call crypto currency, knowing Bitcoin as the only currency, and any other crypto currency is of no importance. When crypto currency is called, the first thing that comes to mind is Bitcoin, then any other coin can follow.
ETH, LTC etc are coins that has been tagged to have a close range of replacing Bitcoin or giving it a hard time in the market, but we can all see that they are even trying to maintain their own position from other coins.

In the cryptocurrency market, the preference is for a coin that offers the maximum security to the transactions. The PoW algorithm of Bitcoin offers that protection. For the other PoW coins, the mining hash rate is not high enough to completely rule out an attack from the hackers targeting the network. And now coming to the PoS coins, in general they have a low level of protection offered to the network. The future lies with Bitcoin. The only thing is that it need to adjust with the changing times. And so far the moves are made in the right direction, with innovations such as the Lightning Network.

We never know what will happen in the future. Maybe if I say there is no altcoin that can replace bitcoin, it's really premature analysis. Who knows if one day there will be one or more altcoins that can beat the value of bitcoin, even if that's when. But for now, bitcoin is still the spearhead of other altcoins.

Who knows if one day there will be one or more altcoins that can beat the value of bitcoin, even if that's when. But for now, bitcoin is still the spearhead of other altcoins.

If you remember, in mid-2017 Ethereum came really close to toppling Bitcoin from the no.1 position. At one point, less than 2% in market dominance separated both the coins. But that was the closest any altcoin ever came in challenging the Bitcoin dominance. After that, at no point any of the altcoins could even manage 50% of the market cap of Bitcoin. Thousands of new coins and tokens got listed since 2017, and the situation hasn't changed. And I don't think that it will happen in the near future. Because there is limited room for the new projects, since the cryptocurrency sector is already saturated.

Bitcoin has been widely adopted compared to any altcoin . Bitcoin is a  trusted cryptocurrency with high level of security . Despite how old is the underlying technology of bitcoin cryptocurrency , it has gained massive trust from the global users and the adoption still increasing . Institutional investors are investing massively in bitcoin because of the trust and secured nature of the cryptorurrency.  In the aspect of technological improvement , there are lots of cryptocurrencies that are far better than bitcoin but that would not make it replace bitcoin .

Ethereum has a good chance to overtake Bitcoin.

I don't think Ethereum will replace Bitcoin, since most cryptocurrencies rely on Bitcoin as the reserve cryptocurrency of the market. Besides, Ethereum is not decentralized as Bitcoin is. The pioneer cryptocurrency is still "king" when it comes to providing decentralized and censorship-resistant payments to the world. Ethereum is inflationary by design, with a lesser number of nodes and miners supporting its blockchain network.

Let's face it, no altcoin will be able to replace Bitcoin unless a coin provides a revolutionary technology that will put Blockchain in the dust. I'm okay with Bitcoin being the leader of crypto, as long as it remains decentralized. Instead of focusing on "beating" Bitcoin, projects should focus on working together to make our world a better place. Every altcoin contributes towards the development of Blockchain tech, so everybody wins in the long run. Just my thoughts Grin

bitcoin will never die and there will never be an altcoin that can replace bitcoin. because bitcoin is the king of all coins in cryptocurency and bitcoin is the first coin created by satoshi nakamoto. With bitcoin, other coins were born such as ethereum, dashcoin, litecoin and others. so there is no way that there is an altcoin that can replace bitcoin.

Many think that altcoins can replace Bitcoin but that probably won't be the case, as all crypto coins are interconnected as big commodities, and for Bitcoin with limited supply and increasingly complex algorithms, the price will be higher and become expensive in the next few years.
Rather than interconnection, every altcoins are tied/have dependence on bitcoin. This makes the market variation to take place following the growth of bitcoin. Regularly we can see large number of new cryptocurrency reaching the market, but that doesn't make a competence or any disturbance. The growth happens depending the bitcoin market. Some even make promotions as the alternate to bitcoin, but in reality the market keeps widening with more cryptocurrencies and the same doesn't serve as a replacement.

The dominance of Bitcoin has been unchallenged for the past 11 years. Evidence of that can be seen all across the ecosystem. Other coins try to dominate but they just can't do it. So, in my opinion, I think that Bitcoin would still be dominant for the next 10 years and more. Ethereum might be a tough competitor but it will stay as the second most dominant, and also as King of the Alts. We might have to wait at least 20 years to see what might be the next dominant coin of the future.

I don't think so. we know bitcoin is a pioneer of cryptocurrency, so psychologically, investors believe in bitcoin the most, so their main goal is investing in bitcoin. we can see that the market capitalization of bitcoin is dominant so far, so it's no wonder bitcoin seems to be a parameter for other coins, when bitcoin goes up, most of the coins follow it, and vice versa

No any altcoin can compete with bitcoin and in the future there will not be a single altcoin that can surpass bitcoin, so we shouldn't even think about it, and in general, without bitcoin there would be no other cryptocurrencies and I think that bitcoin will always remain in the first place in cryptocurrency world.

although many altcoins are rising and keep popping up but it will not pose any threat to bitcoin and there will never be any altcoins that can replace bitcoin because bitcoin is the king of crypto
don't talk for today nor tomorrow because there is a long years in future , bitcoin may stay strong today and the next 5 years but what about the 6th or forward?

Yes bitcoin dominance is indeed covering the whole market but remember that technology will always create new one and there might be some good one who breaks bitcoin in the future.

so the answer best to be "Who Knows"?

I think bitcoin will remain the largest coin in the world and be a role model for the price of other altcoins.if we look at the current there are rivals that can greatly compensate for bitcoin that has excellent projects, such as eth and bnb.but the world still makes bitcoin the queen of crypto.so as much as any altcoin that appears will remain bitcoin becomes known in the world

ETH has the capacity to overthrown Bitcoin or will have a flipenning someday. Just try to imagine how many transactions does ETH have per day. Also look for the amount of ERC20 tokens operating in the ETH mainnet everyday. They are thousands! Usually new comers started to invest first in BTC. Lets see what will happened if new crypto comers started to invest first in ETH.
