Just as you have pointed out. Most of what is regarded as airdrop is not what it used to be then. I could remember Deeponion and Postoken which two of them later died. most of the tokens are distributed among participants as an airdrop. It could be in phases or just one phase. There is nothing like a project conducting an ICO and also giving airdrop. Today most airdrops do not even have values. The amount you are going to get will not even be enough to pay gas or transaction fee provided that they even get listed. Many of them will end up sitting in your wallet without values. Also, if anyone tells you to send a little amount of ETH to receive an airdrop then that is surely going to be a scam. I have seen some of them like that in the past. If many standard project cannot even breakeven how will airdrop project even be successful.

Is definitely nothing else but a scam, any airdrop asking for money from participant to receive their reward with excuse of using it as gas fee is a scam, airdrop should be free.

Yes, if airdrop was done for free then users cannot really complain if they are not listed on exchanges because they got the coins for free although had to complete a few tasks maybe. Things we get for free we can regret working for them but we cannot actually complain, like a popular saying goes like "beggars can't be choosers". Don't get me wrong I am not saying we beg for airdrops coins but we get them for free and no reason to complain.

No one forced us to claim and take part in airdrops so think wisely and take part in airdrops that have some kind of solidity behind their project and are not giving away too many free coins which later opens the flood gates for dumps.

No fees should be requested from airdrop hunters before getting tokens, that's not airdrop because airdrop are supposed to be 💯 free, you will only be asked to join some social media account or groups and in fact some Airdrops ask for nothing than your Ethereum address to receive the free tokens, do not be fooled as scammers may be at work, Airdrops are completely free

Scammers have ruined the airdrops procedure with their scam intentions same like they did with the procedure of ICOs, IEOs and now they're are doing with DeFi imo these days participating in airdrops is not gonna be worthy at all because mostly airdrops exists scam and this is what I have observed so far.

that's true but that depends on the condition of the team. Sometimes you need to send a very small amount of fees to get your token and that's not a big problem as long as it requires only a dollar or less.
Remember the rules of bounty can be changed anytime.
If there's airdrop who has been asking for the participants to send the fees and this is a scam airdrop but we can't say this will happen with bounty too.

Airdrops now are just wasting our time. They are like a garbage in our wallet. Not like in that they have gain some value. And gave us a good payout. So now I stop joining airdrops.
Yeah it is kind of garbage and actually there are various free coins being sent on ETH addresses and almost 99.99% of them are useless. I honestly think even if a good airdrop coin is being given free people will not take part in that so really these airdrop spam have killed the actual meaning of airdrops.

Airdrops are usually free, although sometimes there might be some kind of airdrops where there will be some requirements to claim then, but the rate at which there are scammers infiltrating the network is making people to not trust any airdrop that is not completely free.
Something that is "not free" is usually an ICO or some kind of sale, so airdrop to me is which is given free of cost. People are tired of completing the tasks like following their social media pages and then getting a coin which has neither vision nor mission.

There are some good ones but it is near impossible to spot them among 100s of fake airdrops.

Airdrops were so popular among the crypto-community over the years. One of the key features of the airdrops is, it gives every participant a chance to get some free tokens by completing few tasks. Most importantly it is totally free of charge. But nowadays we frequently see a trend where the organizers of some of the airdrops ask to send a small fee prior to sending the tokens. In some cases, they put a condition saying that in order to withdraw tokens or any fund received from the sale of tokens, it is mandatory to take part in their ICOs. I would rather call such events as "Scam-drops" as they not only dilute the meaning of airdrops, but also make people to move away from future events due to lack of trust.

Airdrops, scamdrops in 2020, both are fraudulent; so if you are a newbie, you need to limit, reduce, and be cautious of the details you release while filling forms and joining several airdrops here and there. Another skill is that, do not use your personal email for aidrops; ensure to always use a seperate email for airdrops. Use a seperate crypto currency wallet for your airdrops too. Stay vigilant.

I'm not really active hunting airdrops but this style is still going on nowadays? I mean sending a small amount of eth then you will receive your tokens? this was old style of scamming, a scam drop indeed. I remember the days of bull, it was year 2017 and many airdrops requiring a small amount of eth to get your tokens, this style was trendy before and now this scam drop is back? better not to join it's a scam.

Its the sad sad truth.
I stopped participating in any air-drops about a year ago after several scam drops in a row.
This is painful and totally demotivating

I don't think you can get scammed by airdrop, its literally free coin. If it's not free like you said, or you need to buy on ICO or anything then it's not an airdrop, it's a bonus. And if an airdrop required you to do some task it's also not an airdrop it's bounty campaign. And if a project said they held an airdrop but it's not actually an airdrop, then no-one should trust that project.

Never encountered such airdrops.

Its been a while since I joined one but I only joined a few of them since I am also scared at that time. I joined some bounty campaigns but not much in airdrops since I thought I could only get shillings from it. At that time the only requirement is just sharing it on social medias and filling up a google doc.

That usually became on trend last few months back, many project implemented that kind of thing in airdrop where the participants had had to pay small fees in order to be eligible for rewards and turned out to be scam later on. This often happened in BSC where bsc was trending and many were really high on it.

If you have to pay for something then it is not free. Airdrop is given free as a means of marketing strategy, and also to incentivize token holders. Avoid airdrops where you need to send a certain amount, generous airdrops such as UNISWAP which is a good example never asked anyone their money to claim a huge amount of airdrop.

It's not only you but there are so many people retired from doing the airdrop. The majority of airdrops have been running by the scam project. The legit project will never try to run the ico because they will prefer to run the promotional campaign.
We have rarely seen the legit airdrop like the Uni but these days so many airdrops are also asking for the KYC too.
That's crap.

Airdrop is just a short promotion by doing easy labor and earning a little money, but if a team asks to send them some ETH I will leave it, because I don't believe in the project.

Yes, it's better to stop now before a lot of time is wasted on those obscure Airdrop programs, only 1% of the original Airdrop, the rest is all scam and there is no value at all in the market, so it's better to stop. in my opinion.

I agree the market has no value in these airdrops no one is thinking of joining and the airdrop campaigners are not able to maintain their position in the market thinking back to 2017 many airdrops at that time made very good profits but now the demand for these is declining due to scams. The cost of the bounty campaign has dropped significantly with the airdrops.

what a shame, 10 airdrops are all scams ?, how come? do you not follow the telegram channel about airdrops ?,
because there are many good airdrop recommendations on several channels, and of course many are legitimate,
indeed we have to be patient if you want to follow the airdrop.
