but, my personal opinion about this is ethereum need more than 1 decade's to surpass the marketcap of bitcoin

If ethereum could hold its price while having their total supply uncapped I think it's possible considering there's also quite the amount of bitcoin loss overtime due to sending to wrong address though the chance might be slim if BTC also increase on its value caused by scarcity of it.

But, many circulating supply for ETH could also become biggest obstacle that holds the price for growing or the market cap from increasing. It's just everything could happen in crypto market.

But, maybe even if btc market cap got surpassed by ETH bitcoin still the icon of cryptocurrency no matter what.

If you look at the growth and the development of the eth so far, it is likely that in the next ten years ETH will equal the value of BTC, but we need to know that ETH is getting more and more in the number so ETH prices will never be as high as BTC, because more and more circulating on the market, the more stable the exchange rate is, it's different from BTC created in a limited amount, the more demand the higher the selling price ....

Or it will never happen as when ethereum gets increase and bitcoin too. I doubt that will happen dude. bitcoin will always be pumped before the whales will try to move into ethereum and then pump it.
This scheme will be last forever and there's no chance for ethereum to surpass bitcoin even in the next decades.

You're right, it's impossible for Ethereum to go beyond Bitcoin. When viewed from the dominance of BTC it is difficult for Ethereum to catch up or even beat. currently bitcoin is very strong and will get stronger in the future. So ethereum doesn't stand a chance. forget speculation about this, it's a waste of time.

I also will do agree with you there is no chance for any coin to do this even ETH is 2nd most strong coin after BTC. Only few people understand the potential of BTC and how strong it could be in future. I believe ETH will remain as an altcoin and this would never happen in this century.

i am a quite surprised about this crazy topic is appear , btc has being store of value , bitcoin is limited ,more than 98% will be mined by 2030 , only 2 % left of bitcoin until last block on 2140 will be mined , hunger whales grayscale has been buying a big amount of bitcoin every week or even day, to control 10% of supply by Next Halving in 2024 , all of that its fact, and u still dare say ethereum will surpass bitcoin ?

don't dream mate !, Ethereum does have a chance to replace Bitcoin, but what we have to remember is that Bitcoin will not be replaced.
have you ever heard that Ethereum is supported by a country? no right? yup and Bitcoin has proven it ,

I recently made a post of this nature, using 6 degrees and LinkedIn to Facebook comparison...
where I said that 6 degrees was the first social media platform built on the internet.... then LinkedIn and MySpace but 5 years later Facebook comes in and kicks all the others around....
I do know cryptocurrency and social media are two different things.... but it would be worth noting they have a very common factor, "human users".

We are all free to speculate price but we cannot assure that it will going to happen  in the next 10 years, eth has a strong foundation and many crypto users used it and now it is rising but i also believe that the bitcoin price affect the eth so if bitcoin will fall down eth will also going down so i think there will be no surpassing of price will happen in the next 10 years see eth network tx fee people are now complaining with regards to fee and find another network to save an amount of tx fee so i think it is hard for eth to become rank #1.

It's hard to tell what might happen in terms of the coin that will be more useful in future! I still believe cryptocurrency is emerging market and many value proposition is still at the very begining! Defi development have changed the narative about cryptocurrency and we are begining to see how useful cryptocurrency could be for the world and many of better services we desire!. For naw, BTC has the value and the liquiidity. Ethereum is definitely closing in!

Market cap growth isn't as linear as most of crypto folks thinks, this day the dominance of btc could be 40% next time when in bull run it could increase to 70%.
It's just matter of how the market behaves whether it's gonna only pump BTC while dumpint altcoin or even where the money from the investors flowing in.
Just try to see the statistic of BTC market cap time to time you will understand that it's now always going up, when in altcoin season it is safe to say that BTC dominance gonna fall down because it
certainly is an altcoin season as the name speak for itself.

You may be right that you doubt that in the next 10 years there will be any technology that will replace Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin alone is
quite sophisticated now and Bitcoin technology has not been fully explored in my opinion. So maybe in the next 10 years Bitcoin will be
invincible, but for one thing we have the same opinion that Ethereum is unlikely to beat Bitcoin. You are absolutely right that we must keep
abreast of crypto developments, because after all the development of crypto is quite rapid.

ETH 2.0 is NOT gonna shake the crypto world, it's just fixing a gas problem that's already solved by now because traffic in ETH chain is decreasing.

 if ETH 2.0 rolls out it's just gonna be your another crypto day with ETH but lesser gas fee which is pretty much ordinary, not increasing scarcity and all in all very little have to do with its price.
I prefer watching bitcoin's sidechain that enables defi in bitcoin rather than seeing a solution that's supposed to solve gas fee but the problem is already gone long before ETH 2.0 even rolls out, so funny.
