NEW Abbreviation

Every week for the last 3 weeks or so I have had to write "New all time high" so many times
as Bitcoin pushed through $20,000.

The new abbreviation NATH will make it quicker when texting and posting because
lets face it we will be writing it a lot from here on in!

That makes sense if we keep on repeating that bitcoin has reached new ATH. Anyone is free to use his abbreviation whichever makes him comfortable.
I hope that I'll be used to it and I'll keep using it for a discussion most of the time. But most of the time, I'm used to speaking the usual new ATH instead of nath.

From the word itself then you can still differentiate the two. When you do tell all time high then that particularly talks about its current ATH but when you do talk about
New ATH then that would particularly talks the numbers that had been recently reached out.So it isnt bad to have this kind of Abbreviation.

I do somewhat agree that typing those words is a little bit long but as long you dont see any complaints for people to type it then it wont really matter.
Its up a choice and able to choose on which one would really be a convenient thing for them.

Actually that's a good term to remember, Nath is a cool sound to be used of. Maybe some crupto linguistic will find this appropriate, since the purpose of abbreviation is too shorter the context of the idea. If many uses this new term its likely be a norm that the community will follow.

Thats really an amazing event but quite worrisome too cause we don't know when bitcoin will start it's retracement.

Remind of this thread, We should stop using the term "All Time High".

Just semantics, but I guess the abbreviation ATH has struck for quite some time now and people just used to it when describing bitcoin hitting a top price or highest historical price level reached.

I think you have same way or view about this as me because I also don't figure out any difference in it. Before this new bitcoin bull , bitcoin users have known and associated with one All Time High and that means the highest bitcoin price at every point which happened in 2017.

Even as no other price came above it unlike we have seen in the current bull over taking in price by day and weekly but we are sure of the highest price.

Why the confusion of New All Time High where we are sure to see the highest price by ourselves. I think cmc is there for the check of highest price if we are not lazy to research. IMO ATH is what it is .

It does complicate things, instead of typing for a shorter amount of time, you need to add N or New when you mention ATH or All Time High. This is what happens when we use euphemism on our words too much, remember when it was not called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder/PTSD but instead shellshock? We tend to avoid reality as much as we can, even if it is a positive thing.

All time high is used for that price which was the highest among all Highs compared together. You can say New ATH more often and I appreciate the bullishness in your comment, however it would not make sense.

You can make a new abbreviation and make it popular. But I dont see any of the market volume aggregators use the term because to the ATH is the highest one ever, not separate prices. That only complicates matters. We are here to make things simple for future generations.

Keep up the bullishness and OP might get even more happy with more "New" ATH price tags.

No difference really, except when there is a NEW ATH a few times in one day!

Nope, bought my first BTC back in Jan 2017, I think it was 16th jan!
It was BTC0.01203243 and was a test to make sure I was buying/transferring etc properly!

It was about €10 back then, Today that same amount is €320 - The power of HODL

Until recently it was in its original wallet throughout the 2017 rise.
