If you can build a token based crypto project you can call yourself a developer, it's very easy to become one today without any expert in the field since we have smart contracts that can automatically build any, this is why too many fake and scam tokens
This is the reason why projects are keep coming and they only have to think of an idea which they are going to be supporting of. Like if they are a project that's going to have a "greener" solution for the environment or whatsoever. They're making it look like a good project which deals with real life purpose but to no avail once they've made it to the sale.

It's also a matter of marketing to them. These developers see the market of investing and crowd funding to be a such a huge market. If most of the investors become wiser, even if there will be a lot of new useless projects come, they'll eventually get rid of making a new one if no one invests.

It's not easy to be a pro developer but many crypto projects are built by con artists pretending to be experts in the field, they have no past histories of projects they've worked for and to be frank it's easy to lie about it, I will like to use avalanche team as an example, I bet the past history of the team is enough for people to believe in the project

Developing some projects requires a different source of information there is nothing bad if you will use their project and create with your own the problem is this can act as illegal to copy the work of other people some of them make credit to the source on their project and some of them trying to direct message the original author still authorization and permission are the best to prevent having issues like this.

It's better to become resourceful if you think the information is free go ahead. Those projects have different features and the same features too so there is nothing bad if you would like to ask some help to them.

Being a developer takes time, effort, knowledge, and passion so if you are copy-pasting only it's not a good habit. We can copy but make a new feature to become unique.

All I know is anything can be cloned in crypto space, it's why its more easy for any person to call themselves developers or blockchain experts nowadays, my advice to all investors is to make sure that the projects they trust have good blockchain experience, they must have worked on some projects in the past

We can't say that becoming a developer today is easy. There are many things to learn if you are just starting and adding to that is the languages you need to learn before you can make your own crypto project. Smart contract platforms are free but the skills of the developers aren't so this means you need to hire someone or learn it yourself to make your "so damn easy" project.

You don't need a certificate to become a developer, anyone who has skills can be one, certificates are just a bonus that you can use in your portfolio when you are applying for a job.

Actually not being a developer, but a beginner who just copy and paste open-source programs that have been provided or can be purchased freely. They are beginners who have a lot of money and want to make a scam project very easy to do. Like the DeFi Project that's hype. Lots of DeFi coins have sprung up, some are serious and successful and many just want to cheat and make a profit for themselves.

Being a developer who is truly an expert in their field is not easy. It takes a difficult learning process with a variety of programming languages that must be mastered.

-snip-
You don't need a certificate to become a developer, anyone who has skills can be one, certificates are just a bonus that you can use in your portfolio when you are applying for a job.
Yups, certificates are only as a portfolio to make applying for jobs easier. What a developer prioritizes is the skills he has. There are many developers now but they are not able to master the skills properly.

Maybe's OP case is curiosity is different. Anyone can do or easily Clone a smart contract and used free token generator but deploying or creating codes is not an easy task. So it's not so easy to become a developer, cause if its too easy then everybody have gone the same path. I know a lot too here don't agree with it. Even me, I can't consider someone as developer if his just doing a copy paste work from others real developers do some little experiment and changes or improvements. Fake dev or scammers are swarming the defi space and people must be aware whose the big deal in crypto space.

In crypto space we have fake developers and real developers, fake devs are those who copied the work of other professional developers, they go the easy ways without working on something new on their own, it's why we have too many scam projects today

That's why you always research the team qualifications (on LinkedIn or smth) before diving into the project.

In crypto space anyone can lie about who they really are so it's a most to always do deep diggings before investing on any new projects, most investors prefer to invest on old projects only because they have show their worth and plan, they can't exit scam on investors compare to brand new projects

I can say this is true, smart contract have make things more easier for people to build tokens, if coding and building crypto projects requires building them from scratch it will be harder for scammers, most scam projects I know of are running on ERC20 smart contract, meaning they are all tokens

If they're a good scammer or con artist, pretty much have planned the entire thing and made accounts in website to secure their "VALIDITY". This kind of scammers is the one who does long-term scamming, in which they gather as much people to believe them by making them somehow reliable, than bam. Investments will banish in one scoop.

Newbies always have it in the back of your mind that where ever money is flowing through scammers and con artists will be waiting to take advantage of you, today almost everyone wants to be a developer, there is no certificate of qualifications to be a crypto developer, tokens are so damn easy to build through smart contract platforms, I can build one myself and find a good name for the project with probably old existing use case but I don't have the heart to cheat people, developers want to ride the crypto wave for the money that's why most new projects have short life span, we have so many unqualified developers in our midst, they are here for your money, know where to put your hard earned money and also take limited risks
What you meant to say is 'its too damn easy to lie about been a crypto developer' ? I think this is what your post title should have look like, many are confused about what you are trying to pass on but I understand that you are simply talking about scammers that lied about their profession, they build tokens which doesn't requires any encoding and claimed they are qualified developers,

I would say it's damn easy to build crypto projects thanks to smart contract projects like Ethereum, it's as easy as building a ready made website this days but this isn't why we have many scammers though it makes things more easier for scammers but the reason why scammers are here isn't the easy building part, money is highly flowing into crypto, that says it all, even if building crypto projects is extremely hard we will still have scammers in crypto space

I as a person don't know about creating tokens using smart contract so I can't say if it's easy or not but I believe there are millions of people like me who have no idea about building tokens or projects,  how can you say it's easy to become a developer? Also I have no reason to build a token so I don't feel like learning but some intentionally look for ways to build projects so they can scam people, investors just have to be very careful with new altcoins

To start a crypto project, creating a token is the last thing you should think of. You don't have to be a developer or to have any solid knowledge about programing to create a token.
A lazy scammer, can simply copy the smart contract code of another token, change its name and deploy it as his own.
A genuine entrepreneur, can hire a developer to write the code.
The important part is how to promote the project and convince others to invest in it.

+1

And I would add too what you do with the tokens, once it pumps (if ever). If your hidden agenda was to dump it, this is a typical scheme historically considered a scam.

If we talk about projects where the main value is technical fundamentals, if some so-called "developer" copy-pastes some code or whatever and sells it to newbies as the next big technical thing, it is a scam too. But not all project's main value is technical: you can create the most simple coin copy-pasting, or a really simple token on the Ethereum blockchain, and still be a legit and profitable project, if your values, team, idea, marketing, use case, etc. are great. Taking into account, again, that your purpose is not to dump it as soon as the price hits some short term target, but to create some long lasting business.

Is it though? Yeah sure there are lots of things to learn from nowadays and a lot of people willing to help out if one actually wants to learn genuinely, but there are really lots of hurdles to go through with learning any language properly. From my first "Hello World" program to learning Data Structures and algorithms, it has been quite a long ride with lots of bumps along the way. Still I'm really nowhere close to being able to make anything that would be remotely useful to crypto, nor do I understand most of the code, otherwise I would have been a Bitcoin Core developer months ago. I guess the ones you are talking about are the pretenders, who just copy and paste their code and act like the smartest people on earth. Those are NOT developers. Please don't call them that.

I have seen tokens coming up by these so called developers, and they are basically the replica of one another. These are the people who aren't interested in learning. Developers usually are interested in the problem solving aspect of it first, like, if I find a problem that stumps me, no matter if I have the know how or not, darn me if I won't try it for 3 hours before giving up, but I will atleast try Tongue I think you could have maybe amended your title a bit Smiley
