Great work, that's how it's done!

Amazingly Page #2 went by without anyone contacting a business, so no prize for page #2
We are starting this one with great example though! Smiley

I've sent an e-mail to Mojang (creators of Minecraft) to implement bitcoin.
I hope I get a second entry on this page for it Wink

Message:
Hello Mojang Support,

I was wondering if you guys could consider using Bitcoin as a payment option. I think implementing this would not be very hard to do through Bitpay for example and it would save you a lot in transaction fees compared to Paypal.

Let me know if you would consider this and if you plan to implement this.

Thanks!

things like this WILL get attention if enough people send them in.

the customer service agents that answer the tickets will eventually
tell their supervisors "People are asking about bitcoin", and it will
go up the chain.

The more consistent the requests, the more likely they will
be taken seriously and eventually acted upon on.

100% agree. We need to hit some of them more than once, but we need people to start hitting them at least once at first.

I would suggest allowing people to contact companies that already have been contacted on this thread.
For people who can't think of a company themselves Smiley

I've meant it like "Go ahead and think about one, like figure it out"

I think you were correct.

I would like to add a prize to this contest, I was thinking about adding 0.05 BTC. (maybe for an additional 0.01 btc per page)
But it would be best if we could put this in escrow.

What do you think?

Edit: And I forfeit my possible winnings for this page, so anyone we puts down an entry on this page still has a big chance of winning.

Great! Please give me the link you want put in the OP.
So you want to give 0.01 per page until 0.05 is given away, so basically for 5 pages?
You can pay directly to the winners, that way we won't need to make an escrow.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to earn BTC by emailing businesses asking them to consider accepting bitcoin, but still it will be a very good advertisement for BTC

Yes that's fine, I'll keep an eye on this topic and you can choose the winner, no problem Smiley

You don't have to put a link there, just my forum username is fine.

I think that this might bring the community a bad reputation, isn't this technically spamming?

I have another suggestion since it is going pretty slow at the moment.
Raise my contribution to 0.02 BTC per page (will keep aside 0.06 in total for 3 pages).

Do you think this is a good idea?

You are correct. Emailing companies you have no previous dealings with and start nagging about bitcoin, can be considered spamming.

OP does not want members to do that. He encourages members to contact businesses "you frequent but doesn't accept bitcoin". It's written in the first post under the "How to win prizes" section.
