2020 ends. It has been a very interesting year for the crypto community.

My suggestion is to end this year in a positive way.
This is not my idea and it has already been implemented on the forum (unfortunately I cannot find links). I want to continue this tradition.

Share your 2020 achievement, any good news, success, and so on. Say something good about any user or how this forum has helped you succeed.
In short, write something positive to cheer up other users.

For each post in this thread, I will give 1 merit and will continue to do so until I run out of merit before the end of 2020.

I believe this is the thread you're looking for - [Merits Giveaway]2019 in review. A big thanks to many forum users. I'm not certain if it was done in earlier years.

I think this has been my first complete year on the forum, without any away time. And it has been a very impactful one for me.
I have learnt so much and also contributed in the little way I can to help other members. Cheers to every member who is genuinely contributing to the growth of the forum regardless of the rank, you have all been helpful to me in a certain way. To name a few;

• Cryptopreneurbrainboss: He has been very influential in helping members both on and off the forum, through charities and other contributions.
• DdmrDdmr: I've learnt a lot from your posts and data, I've also messaged you on a couple of things with helpful feedback.
• LoyceV: Your contribution has been very useful to the forum.
• Filliponne: I've learnt a lot from you, particularly in the economics section.
• Hhampuz: One of the most helpful and reputable members on the forum.
Special appreciation to those who contribute to keeping the forum safe (mods and reporters).

my 2020 achievement- i purchased bitcoin.

this is the first time i have invested in bitcoin. i had planned to invest in 2017 but for some reason, i didn't and later i felt like i did the right when i saw bitcoin was falling. it took me almost 3 years to learn that 2017 was not a bubble, we are probably entering in a new era and i didn't want to miss that. i had read a lot, planned a lot. i had seen people talking about bitcoin everywhere.
so, finally, last month i had purchased bitcoin. it was  one of my great investment so far. still i'm holding.

It was a rough year to say the least, covid-19 pandemic was a thorn in our flesh (and still is), but nonetheless it wasn't bad at all for the Bitcoin community, from the halving to the point at which we are right now, and that's above the ath, as well as looking forward to a special year for Bitcoin next year, that's positive news indeed, one all Bitcoiners are looking forward to.

Interesting year as well for the Bitcointalk family, I'd like to thank Royse777 for Project Covid-19: An approach to support the Bitcoin Community, this comes first to mind cause the pandemic was really unbearable for quite a lot of people and to come up with that initiative was a life saver for some, thank you!
Thanks to zasad@ for organizing one of the most interesting event I've witnessed on the forum, talking about the [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members, it was really interesting and uniting, I still go back to read a couple of great interviews.
It was a great year for bitcoin, and it's adoption, thanks to fillippone for keeping us abreast with most of the latest info and development via Bitcoin Treasuries.
Last but not least, thanks to icopress for organizing Bitcointalk Community awards [Voting 2020], it was fun voting in that thread and it was a very good initiative I must say.

This are some of the most interesting topics I loved on the forum this year, most especially cause they were threads that somewhat unified the community even in a turbulent year, I hope we and Bitcoin have a better 2021, happy holidays guys.

I registered my bitcointalk account on Mar 07, 2020 but I was surprised I could have gone this far. I made few mistakes but yet made many quality articles. I was even able to be one of the most merited daily four times.

I joined five campaigns so far and was able not to miss in the recent bullrun but although not enough bitcoin but the few I had really counts.

I was able to see how this forum is so good, especially from the good members all around.

dbshck, I noticed he do focus on newbies, members and full members that post good and award them merits. He really helped me when I was at that stage. He his a staff on this forum.

I remember the day I contacted LoyceV that he did not merit my good post and merited other member that posted below mine, he gave me four merits that day and told me not to really be bothered about forum. I remember that day very well and it made my day good.

I can never forget ddmrddmr because he is so kind, he do visit 'biginners and help' so often to look for good posts and never hesitate to give good posts merit(s). He is the second person that merited me most. I check many users profile to know how ddmrddmr has been so generous in given merits to quality posts. He his always at the top of users given people merits.

I have to mention CryptopreneurBrainboss, I was able to know him on this forum, he merited me most while able to hear and help me anytime I call for his help, he is a great man.

Mucacinno, I just have to comment that anytime you come on the forum, you do get merit, just because your posts are quality enough to earn it, I really always gain from many of your posts.

pooya87 is professionally writing his post and knows more about bitcoin. Seeing you in the highest rank campaign on bitcointalk is never a surprise.

o-e-l-e-o, he made the forum hard for me at start, but able to understand that he saw great things about me to make sure he helped and improved me. I still always like him for that. Also, I learn a lot about bitcoin from him, he knows a lot about bitcoin too just like pooya87

Upgrade00, I wanted to post like him, he is a good poster.

Suchmoon, I checked how he gives merit, he gives 4, 7 or more. I was able to know he shares merit good. He do post in meta and reputation, and gave me merits especially when I am not expecting.

20kevin20, he saw my post worthy one day of being given merit, he sent me 9 good merits one day that really made my day

fillippone for his good research.

The Pharmacist, he likes posting on meta and economy, he is a good poster that shares his opinion the way he think it is best. I like following people like him.

NotATether, he is my rival, but I think he is better than me because he knows about CSE and computer related things more than me. He his a good poster that worth better campaign.

These are the few I can comment about but there are still many I can comment good about, just pardon me if I have not mentioned you.

2020 ends.
Finally, and good riddance to it as well.

OP, you don't have to give me any merits for posting here.  Save it for a lower-ranked member who isn't a merit source who makes a decent post.

I'm trying to think of some positives of 2020 and I'm coming up short--I don't even think I did a decent job distributing merits this year, though I did my best.  It was just a shitty year all around, but I'm hoping 2021 will be just a wee bit better (and at the very least won't be any worse than this year).  Happy holidays to all my fellow forumites, and may you not come down with anything deadly or contagious.

2020 ends. It has been a very interesting year for the crypto community.

Finally, the worst year (so far and hopefully the last) has come to an end.

Though this year has shook everyone due to the unexpected pandemic, this is also a humbling experience that I was able to focus on the things that I neglected before. My biggest achievement for this year would be the time that I supported and paid half of the education of my younger brother through the proceeds that I gained from participating in campaign signatures. My brother is 10 years old and I was able to pay for his education for one semester and it definitely helped my dad in alleviating his expenses.

Just can write what others also have written , that a bad year for humanity and peoples going to the end .
But there was also good things like a lot of people and Users started reporting and we was fighting good about scammers and spammers !
Also the ATH for Bitcoin at the moment and few other things that will take to long to write all here .

For sure it was a positive year for Bitcoin .

I joined the forum as early this year like march when exactly corona hit . I always knew bitcointalk as something finding new projects. Airdrop and bounties. But main first reason was for search good project early. So far my achievement is finding good help regard my mining information. Also joined bounties. Started make videos about crypto projects. Soon i found how great it can be rank up and earn more merit. So i learnt alot. As i remember someone just mentioned in the book learning is pain  full process. i am going still through but alot learnt . Which i am using to earn too now. And regard this post seems very beautiful and hepful for newbie rank like me. I will be grateful to you for this offer thanks admin.

2020 has been such a shitshow, it has done more harm than good. However, that didn't change how some people reacted on this forum at least for all the good moments that happened here,: QS and Lauda forgiving each other was a highlight for sure. 2020 has been so fucking long I can't even tell if this happened this year or if it happened in 2019. Still fuckin sucks that Bruno isn't with us and Lauda left the forum, and a lot of OGs leaving, gives me a hard time everytime I talk about it.

Shoutout to the whole chipmixer roster, they have helped me quite a bit just by their normal regular posting. I will always be grateful to those lot.  Cheesy

And merry christmas and a very happy new year. To a better 2021.

2020 was the year nature decided to decentralize the consequences of poor hygiene.  Sad

Although the world around me changed little physically, everything has changed online and I feel the smart ones are moving their careers away from public physical interaction.   I'm happy that this forum gave me the ideas, support and opportunity to hopefully spread a lot more coin around to those who need it in the new year.  Crypto = Opportunity!

Unfortunately, 2021 will start out worse for many who are losing rent and other debt protection.   Enjoy this holiday season as much as you can - you may never see a lot of the participants again.  :/

Well, 2020 and quarantine made me find something that I had been lacking for the past couple of years: time. I'm sure that's not something new or innovative but I reconnected with people I hadn't been in touch with and even found more time to dedicate to crypto. I picked up a couple of hobbies, wrote a few stories. Surprisingly, I am ending the year wealthier than I started (not by much but I think in 2020 that's an accomplishment, at least among my peers).

2020 was strangest year in my life and sometimes I still can't believe it's not some kind of movie or bad dream. 2021 simply can't be worse.
But it's something incredible that Bitcoin hit ATH during this year. I doubt that many of us expected that such thing can happen, especially during March dip. At least I didn't panic sell even single Satoshi back then.
In general, 2020 was not great, not terrible for me. At least I didn't got Covid, my family members didn't got it too and it's already something positive. Also, I didn't lost my job - it would be big hit during these strange times. And what I can say that working not remotely during lockdown is big advantage for me when I still meet my colleagues and have real social contact Cheesy. I would get mad if I'd have to work from home.
But in general, 2020 is year to forget for me, nothing significant didn't happened for me and I can only enjoy some small things. But I imagine that after 10 or 20 years it will be very strange to remember these unbeleavable time that we lived.

The best way to approach a topic like this is to write about the first things that come to mind and the first things you will remember. Sadly, my memories of 2020 are joyless.

A good friend of mine left the country to find a better life for himself elsewhere. But we never lost touch. One day he calls me and says that he has been diagnosed with Leukemia and doesn't have long to live. Stem cell and bone marrow transplantations were attempted but his body rejected it. He was dead within two months.

A work colleague of mine got infected with COVID. She had a bad cough but kept telling everyone it will pass, it's nothing to worry about. As the days passed, it got worse until she started having trouble breathing and was rushed into hospital. A severe pneumonia developed because she didn't act quicker and she didn't make it. She was 49 years old.

On a more personal note. My occupation allows me to work mostly from home, so I wasn't affected with layoffs, lack of work, or financial difficulties like many of my friends. Another close friend of mine got fired and had to move to another city where he found another job. The pandemic and me working from home allowed me to spend more time with my family and that is something I will cherish. We are all healthy in spite of some problems, and I hope it will stay that way. I miss my family who are scattered all over the world and who I couldn't visit like I usually do because of this freaking pandemic.

I wish my review was more positive but I wanted to write about the first things I thought off.

Stay safe everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Year 2020 has been wonderful for me as far as Bitcoin Forum is concerned. My learning about crypto and Blockchain  improved significantly by reading posts and communicating with members of this Forum.
Digital currency markets have climbed significantly in value all year long, despite the gloomy global economy and the aftermath of Covid-19 responses. Bitcoin prices have been hovering at values not seen since 2017, and the top crypto asset in terms of market cap has gained a whopping 159% since January 5, 2020. In fact, many crypto assets have seen spectacular 12-month returns in 2020.
