How much btc do you need to secure your future?

Obviously this depends on where you are located.  Such as if you live in an expensive place in the US or Canada, then its a lot more than in other countries.  Also if you are young, middle age or older.



I always felt the number had to been minimum 10 if you asked me this years ago.  But now with news articles and videos saying btc true value is somewhere in the 300-400k range... well that 10 btc number certainly is a bit high.  I guess the number probably is minimum 5?  Then again you hear old videos where people say... just make sure you have just 1 bitcoin...as that is enough.  Thus if it goes to 1 million dollars... well that is a lot of money.  Even after taxes, that is a lot.   But when people say its half a million or a million, well then that number could drop to say 2 or even 3.



And i see many people on this forum talk about not having 1 btc and its their goal to get 1 btc.  Obviously back then, it was much easier with the low prices.  But now... anyone who wants 1 btc need to spend 25k... thats a ton of money for most people and most people don't even have that in their savings.  But for someone who is from the West... thus in the US or Canada... what number would you say that should be?  Of course it could be in a wealthy country in say Asia, Europe or Australia.  But you get my point.  I got to assume if you talking about 10 years down the road or more... it has to be minimum 5?  Or minimum 10?  Or is 10 a bit too high?

Then obtaining 1 bitcoin as always been suggested would be good. But if you can acquire as much as you can for retirement, do yourself a favor.

Some prominent people in bitcoin space says that owning at least 0.2 or 0.3 amount of bitcoin is enough in order to become one of the 1% of population who is surefire to become rich just by owning a fraction of bitcoin, some even says you need to have more than 15 BTC or even more.

However, I think it would be impractical to limit yourself from those numbers and stop accumulating. These are just statistics to evenly spread the wealth based on supply and the current amount of BTC that is circulating. I personally do not have a speficific number in mind since I aim for long term accumulatation even if it means selling a small amount for my needs -- steady but slow will still suffice.

Just accumulate as much as possible without giving yourself a limit. That's the goal to secure yourself.

That's really depend on many factors like you said above, some peoples enjoyed with his life if he and his family is healthy, peaceful and happily even though they're not rich person. At least they have money to buy food, simple house and simple live. But don't be hypocritical, all peoples will always want become rich instead of poor... since money can make life more easier.

In third world countries 1 BTC is enough to able survive for 10-15 years (depending on how he use the money too), for me I only need 2-3 BTC to secure my future.

But now... anyone who wants 1 btc need to spend 25k... thats a ton of money for most people and most people don't even have that in their savings.  

No problem at all, even though the price is high right now... Bitcoin is still bullish and has strong resistance, it will reach $30.000 end this month or next month.

That's definitely a pretty hard decision to tell because you will never know who you will be like and what happenings you can encounter in the future. Personally, I would want more BTC just to feel that I am secured that I wouldn't have to worry about any negative thing that could happen in my life. Imagine being able to pay hospital bills with BTC that you have earned for the past few years. That's a great blessing. I would've hoped to have more to be secure and to be able to help more people with having BTC.

With a large sum of money, it's definitely an opportunity to help others who need it more than me.

It all depends upon the price of the bitcoin. Based on the present market price even a single bitcoin will fulfill lifetime expenses of a man in a third world country. Another thing, with one bitcoin an user can lead his entire life, but the god's grace is a must. The life should not get accompanied by body illness, because it is only thing that makes people to spend by need whereas majority do unwanted spending.

Aiming for a certain amount of bitcoin to secure the future is a bit difficult especially for people who have little capital for it, just working hard or just joining a bounty campaign. I think even you have small amount of bitcoin if you are already happy and satisfied to your life and can eat three times a day is, enough. We do not know our future even if we set a plan for it, sometimes it does not turn out to be what we planned.

But on the other hand, it is not bad to dream and strive to reach it. So, I think having even 0.5 to 1 BTC is enough for me to start putting up a business for the future of my family.

1 BTC good for 10 to 15 years? Current price, or 7 digits? I believe $27,000 will not last for anyone, in any country for 10 - 15 years. I would prefer to use that to re-invest, start a small business, or take a short course.

In my country, my age, and the current price of bitcoin. I think around $700k worth of bitcoin is enough for a modest retirement in the country side. I am not that materialistic so I think I can live off the good life if it comes to that. If the scenario is played with a child I think around $2m worth is the safest point because there will be more people that might need emergency unlike living alone or without a kid. Honestly, if that were ever the case that I reached my lowest estimate goal I would be grateful.

That half a million-dollar amount of bitcoin would make many of us so happy. If that's the case, then having 1 btc is more than enough especially when converted to our currency. But considering the current situation having 10 I guess would make my life secure and my future family. I'm still on my way to reaching 1 btc but those little I have allows me to survive every day. Not in a rush tho.

I completely agree. Our desires always have no limit. It does not depend on age but depends on temperament. Someone is happy with one bitcoin, while others need numbers with two or three zeros.
The more a person's life becomes secure, the more his appetites increase. Sometimes we are indignant, why do the rich need millions, because such money cannot be spent in a lifetime? I think many will agree that first, everyone wants to feel stability in the future, they want stability for their family, children, grandchildren.
Therefore, everything is obvious here. Having one bitcoin, a person will aim for two, and so on.

Impossible to answer your question, because Bitcoins price is not stable. It might be $26k, or $100k in ten years. Or it might be $300 in two months. So having, for example, 100 BTC might be or not be enough to secure future. Also I cant do plans for such a long period. I can plan my life for 5-10 years (buy flat, build house, start own business), but I dont know what I will be interested in 20 years and how much money I will need that days. And like people say here "it is never enough". Person will always find what do buy and how to spend any amount he has, and he will always desire more.

It is very hard to provide a definite number or answer to this question because we can never tell how much Bitcoin would grow in the future. It is easier to respond with a certain number or range if there is a fixed price we attach to Bitcoin, say, $100,000.

If Bitcoin reaches $100,000, then I guess around 5BTC would be enough for me to secure my entire future. I still have a long life ahead of me and I cannot even estimate how much would I be spending on all kinds of stuff in the future. But with 5BTC I am pretty sure I won't be reaching old age penniless.

To my way of thinking, it is pointless to think of a particular amount you need to have to secure your future. In essence, we don't need bitcoins, we need things we can buy with our money. The more money we have, the more money we spend on things we probably don't even need. We start buying more expensive and elite food, cars, houses. Some people start buying more alcohol, drugs, other harmful things thus reducing the quality of life. Buying all these unnecessary and dangerous things you are not going to secure your future, you will rather make it less bright.

1 Bitcoin is worth more than a Million in some countries ,meaning that 10 bitcoin considerably 10 million or more.

if you mean securing your Future is a None income living in which you will only depend on your Funds on hand ,then i guess difficult to asses, You may Die early so the amount is lower ,but you can live Long and may suffer Sickness long time and that means too much spending .

For me securing future means stablishing Business that will accompany our Life through out ,So even 3 or 4 Bitcoin is more than enough ,I will stablish small business while some part will be invested in crypto for long term ,So if ever that time comes my business comes to end at least i still have funds in my crypto wallet.

err for the sake of answering your question, an amount of 1BTC itself is more than enough if you consider it being spent for your entire lifetime. Provided that you only spend it on actually making more money and living your life quite normally. Now if you were to consider it without thinking of your future, then 0.3-0.5 BTC is more than enough imo. Well, trying to calculate it this way limits the possibilities, so other than curiosity, I don't think there's any purpose in trying to do so. A single BTC right now costs around $27, $28k right? I think it's actually more than enough for one to live off of it for the rest of their lives, if the price were to continue to grow, then all the more reason that it's enough.

I think 10 would be enough. If you will use that amount to establish your own business then that would really enough. Owning 10 was already expensive in other counties but that was too high to imagine for everyone that is why they only dreaming of having a goal of 1. I would say that 1 is already enough though considering that Bitcoin's price grows over time. However, as the times passing by expenses also increase so better not to be contented with what you have and strive for more.

It's an entire retirement fund for most of us and if you have ever saved a lot including establishing business for continuous source of income, that would make your life live well.

Just accumulate an entire 1 whole bitcoin if you can and if you can do more and can continue the accumulation, much better.
