Thanks for the correction.  I could make some excuse like I was talking about the cross-over audiance, but won't (since it is not really true.)

+1  they're quite different. Fox Business is a pretty good channel, much more like CNBC than like Fox News

LOL (really!)  Saying that Fox Biz is 'good like CNBC' has got to be a joke, right?

"Good" is relative here. Compared to major US news media, I consider CNBC and Fox Business to be pretty decent. Al Jazeera English is by far the best TV news source I've ever come across, but it's not available many places in the US.

Bitcoin is r/politics, though some may not realize it yet.

Interesting, though its not exactly the first time it makes fox or is it?
Anyway, I have a feeling awareness is growing. Im actually starting to meet more and more people who have heard about it, although very few understand it and you get all the typical questions and preconceptions. But awareness is just a first step. From there to adopting is quite a mountain to climb.

As a small anecdote, I have a nephew in law who is a high level executive at a small-ish local bank and insurance company (AXA). I met him a month or two ago and brought up bitcoin. Unsurprisingly, he had never heard of it and I must have done a bad job of explaining as he was very dismissive of the whole concept. He just shrugged it off, uninterested. Not that I was too surprised by that; while one of the smartest people I know, he is also a complete PC neophyte that hardly knows how to turn on his laptop and one of the most "conservative" people I know.  Not conservative in the US political sense, just a really 'old fashioned' person.  I figured he'd be about the last person I could "convert".

When I met him again some weeks later, to my surprise he was the one to bring up bitcoin; he had in fact googled it and was no longer dismissive; still skeptical but clearly intrigued and he bombarded me with questions. I wouldnt say he is a firm believer and advocate yet, but he is one of many  I think, who are interested, but not quite willing to jump in already, instead closely watching how this unfolds. Of course I just had to make him a stakeholder, so he is the owner of a casacius coin now Smiley. The day he calls me asking me how to open an account at Mt Gox is the day Ill jump in with both feet Smiley.

Judge Napolitano is awesome! Definitely not the typical Fox News talking head.  Grin

Who would have thought one of the best discussions on Bitcoin so far would come from a Fox channel!

It's also funny how they jump right into talking about a 'gold bubble' after talking about Bitcoin.  Grin

I was really surprised at the quality of this clip. I was expecting something really negative and we got one of (if not the) best clips yet. Solid answers that people can understand, that's what we need. Not to mention a guest that understands the concepts.

Pleasantly surprised on this one.

When he started the piece by saying "Bitcoin" with a laughing wobble in his voice - I thought it was going to be a piece where he completely derided it.
Pleasantly surprising indeed!

Jerry Brito comes across better than anyone else in the bitcoin community.  Point the media to this guy.

SealsWithClubs poker room has  over 400 players online. Buy in from .01 to 60btc.      BTCSportsMatch lets you bet sports with vig free lines!  Best kept secret in bitcoin....          LocalBitcoins.com is very user-friendly now for bank transfers.  You don't have to live close to trade when in the same currency area.
Electrum client is awesome. Try it. And please stop sending bitcoins to sites run by security newbies, or don't complain when you lose everything.

The good news is segments like this while it may not create Bitcoin users at least make it so people know what Bitcoin is.

The % of population who even has heard of Bitcoin is likely <1%.  The more people who have heard of Bitcoin the more potential future users.  Nice segment.

^ Gotta love his website too: http://jerrybrito.com/
Seriously... are spammers just buying up domains with the names of people who appear on TV and blasting them with spam? How can this be profitable?

EDIT: WTF?! First time I opened the website it had this on it:

now it's a legit website... have I been hacked?! (or has the website been hacked?)

You might have DNS poisoning happening on your system.

Do a scan with three specific programs, Malwarebytes Anti-malware, Super Antispyware, & Spybot SD.

Then I would suggest using 3rd party DNS from either OpenDNS or DynDNS.

I'm running Ubuntu. Are these programs still relevant, or do they only search for Windows binaries?

I did a Wireshark dump while refreshing the page. No foul content in the dump. Looks like it may be inserted via javascript. Also, there's a HTTP request for this URL:

http://www.google-analytics.com/__utm.gif?utmwv=5.2.2&utms=7&utmn=1893043178&utmhn=jerrybrito.com&utmcs=ISO-8859-1&utmsr=1920x1080&utmsc=24-bit&utmul=en-us&utmje=1&utmfl=11.1%20r102&utmdt=Online%20Viagra%2C%20Dragon%20Viagra%20%2B%20No%20Prescription&utmhid=215072556&utmr=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.dk%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26rct%3Dj%26q%3Djerry%2520brito%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D1%26ved%3D0CB8QFjAA%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fjerrybrito.com%252F%26ei%3DLUDUToaRO4Wq-gbw3syiDw%26usg%3DAFQjCNGW_xHs2oD8pBj6fcFvq15PVDKQcg%26sig2%3D1mkvMxbEMY5Xks7ta44BFw&utmp=%2F&utmac=UA-175096-1&utmcc=__utma%3D89259264.1153212942.1322532916.1322532916.1322532916.1%3B%2B__utmz%3D89259264.1322532916.1.1.utmcsr%3Dgoogle%7Cutmccn%3D(organic)%7Cutmcmd%3Dorganic%7Cutmctr%3Djerry%2520brito%3B&utmu=q~

which includes some spam keywords (viagra presciption etc.). But it could just be taking the keywords from the site though.

I'm hoping it's at his site, and my system is not infected...

EDIT: On further thought, I don't think it can be DNS poisoning, as at the bottom of the spammed webpage were the original web page. So spam seemingly was inserted into the website. I wasn't redirected to another site.
