Transfer to coinbase wallet from coinbase.com

need help!

From my coinbase wallet app, I action "transfer from Coinbase.com".
I select a crypto to transfer.
I type-in the exact amount of ETH I have (in my coinbase.com account).

I keep getting the message, for dollar or quantity:
"Add payment method
none of your funding methods will cover this transaction. try a new card"

what is the right option to use to transfer from coinbase.com to coinbase wallet?
should I specify dollar amount or the quantity of crypto?

I think you get this error when you are trying to send it on an external wallet because it needs an extra fee compared to sending it through email. If you want to transfer or send that coin on the same wallet provider(Coinbase to Coinbase) you need to put the email of the receiver not the ETH address of the receiver.

Sending crypto out of coinbase to external wallet dont required the "Add a payment method" although you may be asked to prescribe the amount you want to send in your local currency whilst the fund will be sent in crypto but the reason to your issue will only be you trying to move local currency out of your coinbase.com account.

You'll get that option when you click "Get coins" which roughly translates into "purchase coins" that's why you're prompted to add a payment method.
The correct way is to link your Coinbase account in "Settings icon->Wallet link" connect your Coinbase account there.
After successfully connecting, you can now use "Transfer" <- that I haven't tried since I don't use Coinbase (exchange) anymore.

An alternative or rather the right method is to send the funds through an on-chain transaction:
Use 'Coinbase Wallet' App's "Receive" button just below the balance and then select the coin type. There should be an address below the QR code.

Then open 'Coinbase' using the web or app, use the send button (or paper plane icon for app) then scan/paste your address there.
After a while, they will send a batched-transaction that should include yours.

Note that 'Coinbase wallet' is a non-custodial wallet unlike 'Coinbase', so use every "textbook safety precautions" to be safe.

Yeah, that's a problem with the network when there are too many unconfirmed transactions and/or slower-than-normal blockrate
coupled by (or mostly by) Coinbase's additional external transaction "service fee".
However, you have more control of the fee when you're sending out from 'Coinbase Wallet' app to any bitcoin address because it doesn't include a custodial service fee, just the mining fee.

If you can time it right, you could save some satoshi from that mining fee.
